Whoops. Dropped off the thread again... have loved catching up with the chat and photos (those I can see...seems there was a blip around Monday where I can't see any!
Boooooo). And yes - I had the same trouble with the site being down/veeeeeery slow yesterday. Prob just as well, as I was much more productive without it!
Can't possibly comment on everything, but have to say soy - I am sooo jealous of your lovely photos in the sun and swimming in the beautiful sea! I assume you're back now - the weather is just the same as Spain, no
. We've missed the worst of the rain up here, but are definitely getting it today, and its so cold. And something's gone wrong with the air pressure I think and has given me a weird headache, which I never get...
Also cherries - I agree with everyone that you will look brilliant in a dress with trainers, and sod what "friends" say. Surely people dressing as "mothers of the bride" have no idea what a graduation actually is?! Have you got further with your choice? And such kind offers to loan/ sell the turquoise kensington!
I was tempted by the lucy shirt on BA too, but they had sold out by the time i got my act together.
goodluck - as always, you look great in all your things - I adore the shape of the denim jacket on you, and the blazer and black & white blouse are lovely. You seem rather down on your shape for no reason! You look fab
.
fuzzy - how odd - I was thinking exactly the same about poetry! I think it's just the sale stuff, as I do remember really liking some of their trousers and dresses when the catalogue first came out, but they don't seem to have gone into the sale. Really not tempted at the moment - though I think they do tend to do further reductions later on.
ella - well done on your run - but hope your DDog is OK. Poor thing [doggy treat emoji] .
I definitely need to get back on the no spend bench with len and spag and granny! I think I have enough for the next 20 summers...
So my toast haul arrived (has yours come too laska ?) and it's a bit of a mixed bag. But the tent smock dress is actually rather nice and i am considering keeping that! It is a bit nightie-like even sized down to a 10 (and I am NOT a 10) but with a belt i think it is rather good, and beautiful cotton (that I think will hang better once washed - it's doing that sticky-out thing at the moment). Not a summery colour, but would also work with tights & boots, or with a roll neck or long sleeved t shirt under in autumn. There's also a drawstring dress which is longer, and also a really nice shape (sized down in that too...what are their sizes like!?) - and that would also work in autumn too. The necks of both are rather high but you can kind of fold down the corners of the placket (
see - I have learnt some dressmaking terminology) to make a v neck which Is much better. I also tried as a wild card some paperbag culotte/ trousers? which are really swishy and huuuuge. I got the last one which happened to be a 12 which I thought would be fine - but I can basically take them off without undoing them! But they are meant to be tied at the waist, and doing that really tightly I think recovers them. I'm not entirely sure they are the most flattering garment ever (esp on the bum) but they are really unusual and such a lovely soft denim, i'm very tempted...
There was also a skirt which sits a bit low so is a difficult length so that is going back, and another denim dress which was OK but a bit short for me in summer. A couple of tops too which don't do anything really, and frankly, I don't need... Will put photos in the next post...
