Well, the RD have style, you’ve got to give them that. Although not all of that style is to do with clothes Grin

RhubarbIsEvil · 06/06/2019 20:38

I meant RF.

itswinetime · 06/06/2019 20:39

Speaking of S&B Kate has made an unscheduled appearance to night at a service at Horse Guards (I believe)

For those that struggle to tell her coat dress apart like me this a re wear of one she wore on the Canadian tour. It's classic Kate look

Love Kate's look from today. The fit of the dress coat is perfect and the details and lines are nice. I like that her hair is up.

It's a win for me.

SunshineCake · 06/06/2019 21:14

Kate looks lovely. Got slightly over excited when I thought I saw the smidgen of a baby bump Smile.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/06/2019 21:19

Great analysis of the Royal swerving @thedarklady
Meghan “The American Princess” would have been ballot box gold for the Trumps.

Kate looks gorgeous in her cream coat. I wonder if she will start communicating in the “Language of Brooches”?

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 06/06/2019 21:19

It must be a very poignant moment for the Queen during the D-Day 75th Anniversary Commemorations. HM also lost her Uncle (George, the Duke of Kent) during WWII.
She probably worried about Philip too as he was in the Royal Navy during the war.

On a lighter note the HM trained as a driver & mechanic with the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the war.
One can quite imagine Philip saying, "I knew that she was the woman for me when I found out that she could strip an engine." (If he was ever asked what attracted him to the Princess Elizabeth as she was then.)

Sorry for being a sour puss

Wetdogloveshubert · 06/06/2019 21:25

Kate's looking far too well for bump-watch Grin Ditto on the outfit though, she looks spot on tonight.

GlamGiraffe · 06/06/2019 21:35

rhubarb Are you remembering wonderbra woman too then?😉

GlamGiraffe · 06/06/2019 21:38

Liking Kates outfits today. I never think Meghan looks tidy and composed in the same way with her clothing choices. I think finding a shape that really fits and having it tailored rather than more free form shapes always is a hit. Generally I really like most of Kate's clothes.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/06/2019 21:45

It'll be interesting to see what clothes Meghan picks going forward, given that she's been pregnant the majority of time she's been a royal. She has a very different style to Kate and that's not a bad thing. They don't have to be identikit duchesses!

Personally I prefer Meghans style to Kate's and you can tell her outfits apart Wink but yes be interesting to see her establish a proper non pregnant royal style.

PinguDance · 06/06/2019 21:53

Ooh love this coat and - a brooch! Yay!

Thedarklady · 06/06/2019 22:02

Black women being described as untidy, especially when compared to a white woman is the ultimate in BS dog whistle racism. I'm sure your comment was mostly or wholly innocent but I've had enough of these kind of comments. I'll let the photos do the talking.

Very true @Thedarklady and well said.

I think Meghan is massively composed however her looks are always different whereas Kate wears the same thing (how many dress coats!). Neither is better or worst I personally prefer Meghan's style but I understand why Kate plays it safe. However Meghan is far from untidy in my opinion.

RhubarbIsEvil · 06/06/2019 22:12

I think Giraffe meant the pregnancy months when it was clear that Meghan had ordered clothes in advance and then they didn’t quite fit when she wanted to wear them. It’s nothing a permanent Seamstress-in- Waiting can’t sort out but I suspect Meghan didn’t have one. I know that DiS will be back to her normal fantastic self very shortly.

Also giraffe I wasn’t there but Emma goes to that sort of thing all the time. We were talking about a dinner party held by the D of Kent’s nephew and she said “you know how butlers fuss..” so naturally I agreed and grew a Pinochlo Nose.

RhubarbIsEvil · 06/06/2019 22:13

And if you are indeed Emma then you’ll tell me why the Butler was fussing over you Wink

Thedarklady · 06/06/2019 22:14

Kate does have a pretty good 'uniform' and the photos will 'age well' over the years. However, she is in a different position - she will be the future Queen Consort, is the mother of the future king and she has been in the Royal family for over 8 years. She also dated William for a long time before that.

Meghan has only been in the Royal family for a year (having had a whirlwind romance), in a new country and was pregnant for most of it!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/06/2019 22:14

Tbf GlamGiraffe didn't say Meghan looked untidy, just not tidy and composed in the style of Kate. They have completely different looks, and a good thing too.

yellowalstroemeria · 06/06/2019 22:16

Love Kate in the cream and the brooch is beautiful. I'd love to wear a brooch.

The second set of Megan pictures are my favourite- the navy and the bright blue are absolutely lovely. So princessy.

yellowalstroemeria · 06/06/2019 22:18

Going to revise my own opinion and state preference for Megan in the green Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/06/2019 22:34

I love the forest green on Meghan, it really suits her colouring.

She still looks more like an actress to me than a "princess" but she's been in the job for a very short time so hopefully it will come. She and Harry have a different place to fill and it isn't necessary for her to look regal, unlike Kate.
