Interesting SV article. She does like a bit of Corbyn bashing doesn’t she?! I’m not his biggest fan right now but there are limits!

Yes to the ‘little old me at the big fancy dinner’ angle. Honestly.

I find it really weird that she was invited, knowing that she is a DM Journo and often quite a vitriolic one at that.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/06/2019 08:45

UI think she was invited because she is Gove’s +1.
The whole visit has just been about the Royals exercising exquisite politeness and diplomacy and the Trumps being boorish, shameless freeloaders. Bringing along all the kids, including the useless thickos is just crass.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/06/2019 08:49

Let's hope Gove doesn't become PM because then the DM will literally have one foot in the door at Downing Street!

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Trump's son with Melania turned his back on his hideous family and did something like join the Peace Corps or Greenpeace?

One can only wonder what Charles thought of his tea with Trump...

Daisypie · 05/06/2019 09:24

I know it is outside his constitutional role but I admire Charles for trying to speak to Trump about climate change.

AudacityOfHope · 05/06/2019 09:25

She's not going to be vitriolic about Trump/Tories/Brexit/the RF though.

No way am I clicking on her shitty husband-promoting bullshit. She's barely a GCSE above Katie Hopkins or whatever her name is.

Stravapalava · 05/06/2019 09:47

How do you pronounce Melania? Is it Me-lane-ee-a or Mel-ar-ni-a?

Inniu · 05/06/2019 09:57

It was in Marla Maples prenup that she would lose child support if Tiffany joined the Peace Corp. Same probably applies to Melania and Barron.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/06/2019 09:58

It's Mel-aah-nia,@Stravapalava

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 05/06/2019 10:02

"I was saying to the Queen last night, the choice of your next prime minister is a very important.”

Talk about mansplaining!

Jjacobb · 05/06/2019 10:53

I'm in Portsmouth now on the common, A royal helicopter has just arrived and a friendly policeman has told me HM is onboard.
Will try to get some photos.

SlipperOrchid · 05/06/2019 11:02

SV’s review was very poorly written and spiteful with her continuous digs. She seems so unprofessional. I take it she isn’t published anywhere other than the DM?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/06/2019 11:05

Melania has a 50s vibe.
HM is in pink

Lol, I'm sitting next to a couple of men who really need to be on these threads.
Their opinion of Melania
"She looks better than she did in the suit that didn't fit.
On today's outfit "she trying to dress wartime British ain't she"

Balloondog · 05/06/2019 11:28

HMQ, TM and MT all looking stylish at today's D-Day event. The pink on HMQ is lovely and spring like and she really stands out. I've only seen the top half of TM but though the green is a bit of a departure for her, I think again it's nice and spring/summery and the cut flatters her much more than anything we've seen her in over the last few days. She really suits a longer line jacket. I can't bear MT but again, she looks the best I think she has done over the last few days, and her outfit is both appropriate and stylish.

SlipperOrchid · 05/06/2019 11:45

Why does Trump always look like he just stepped in dog dirt?

SenecaFalls · 05/06/2019 11:54

And if I hear "Special Relationship" one more time I shall scream. Yes, they helped us out in the war, probably saved us from losing it, but don't they go on about it!

In fairness, we Americans did not come up with the notion. Here is its origin:

“I come to the crux of what I have traveled here to say. Neither the sure prevention of war, nor the continuous rise of world organization will be gained without what I have called the fraternal association of the English-speaking peoples. This means a special relationship between the British Commonwealth and Empire and the United States.” Winston Churchill, Fulton, Missouri, 1946

shedid · 05/06/2019 11:56

I can't post pics but I love TM's hat today. She looks lovely in green.

youngestisapsycho · 05/06/2019 12:01

Lovely green that TM is wearing...

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/06/2019 12:10

HM looks fab again.
I don’t like those Airforce blue pinstripes Charles loves.
He should wear Navy or Prince of Wales check.

NoTheresa · 05/06/2019 12:15

SV is desperate for her husband to be PM. Actually, he would make a reasonable fist of it.

NoTheresa · 05/06/2019 12:16

Prince of Wales check for the Prince of Wales? What was that about “literal dressing” again?!

Kedgeree · 05/06/2019 12:20

At last TM is wearing something that's right for her i.e. a long jacket, not something that finishes just below her boobs. The sleeves are still too short as always, but she looks better than passable today. Too little, too late.

Balloondog · 05/06/2019 12:24

Prince Charles on the other hand looks like he picked up his suit in a charity shop without trying it on. Why is it gaping on one side and crumpled around the pockets?
