I wonder if the gowns being white meant they didn't photograph well? I suspect they would have looked a lot more splendid irl. I can't believe the royal ladies would not make an effort to look their best. It's all part of putting on a spectacular show.

Apparently the Americans have been blown away by the whole experience, completely over-awed by it. The organisers knew full well what they were doing, pulling out all the stops and showing off the monarchy and all the ceremony that surrounds it in all its glory.

I have heard this about the unfortunate shoe softening servant many times over the years. Alledgedly she patrols the royal corridors. That's a short straw to draw.
There are some unusual things I've observed in the RF over the years but I've never bumped into the shoe stretcher roaming the corridors of one of the palaces.
As an ex dancer I used to have made to measure shoes and they still always hurt to start with. Ooh what a luxury to have someone wear them a few times until they're softer arpund the edges. Even a perfect fit still hurts to start with.

I liked Tiffany's dress as she looked the part whilst Ivanka looked underdressed (though nice frock)
