I liked Kate's look today, the colour and that the skirt had a bit of movement/swing to it. Lovely hat too!

One of my favourite looks on Kate - she could have worn this today. I haven’t seen it on her since then.

escapade1234 · 21/05/2019 18:48

Sorry, I meant specifically the pink dress from Trooping. If she needed to wear pink again. She does suit the colour but she has so many similar dress coats.

SenecaFalls · 21/05/2019 18:58

OK so I have to translate to Fahrenheit, so that's about 70. I am sitting on my back porch, and it's 90 F/32 C here. I am wearing shorts and a t-shirt, not a coat dress and hat, however.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/05/2019 19:00

As coat dresses go it’s one of her better ones, pretty colour and the hat really suits her.

SenecaFalls · 21/05/2019 19:12

I like Kate's dress including the slightly looser fit.

Do the royal males always carry umbrellas at these things?

MoonstoneMagic · 21/05/2019 19:23

I definitely think Kate has had elecution lessons. She is tense and self conscious in interviews too. Zara does not speak like that , she sounds pretty normal. It's not a given that anyone who goes to a private school sounds 'marbles in the mouth'. My OH has three Aunts who all went to Cheltenham Ladies College, and they literally do speak like they have marbles in their mouths. It was a thing back in the day, but not so common now. I think Kate still thinks it's what you do.

I thought Kate looked lovely today. How HM still keeps going is beyond me. How many other women in their nineties are effectively still working?

MoonstoneMagic · 21/05/2019 19:26

I flinched at the word 'kiddies'. I can't think of anyone I know who would use that word. I think she's trying to be 'down with the people' and it just sounds a bit naff. Much like PH using the word 'ain't ' in an interview a couple of years ago.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/05/2019 19:31

Public not private school. Honestly she's just got a normal accent and is nervous speaking in front of the camera.

pallisers · 21/05/2019 19:38

I thought the queen's coat and general outfit was a hundred times more stylish and interesting than DOC's. Loved the neckline and button placement on her coat.

myrtleWilson · 21/05/2019 19:40

I have a lovely image of UrsulaPandress writing a fashion article on Kate's best busts through the years Grin

UrsulaPandress · 21/05/2019 19:50

Oh stop it. Honestly how the Jeff did that happen?

Actually you have given me an idea ...

AudacityOfHope · 21/05/2019 19:52

Find all this accent scrutiny a bit much, I'm Scottish and she doesn't sound that weird even to me Confused

SenecaFalls · 21/05/2019 19:53

Autocorrect and predictive text have a lot to answer for. I use the speech to text function fairly often now and that produces some interesting results as well.

AngeloMysterioso · 21/05/2019 20:00

Does she not get sick of bloody knee length coat dresses?

TokyoSushi · 21/05/2019 20:01

Loved Kate's hat today, less so the coat.

Agree that she struggles with public speaking and think the accent is more as a result of nerves than anything else.

I think the garden is beautiful though and the PR has been very well done. Who is the patron of the RHS? HM? I suppose it might go to Charles but it would be nice if it eventually ended up with Kate.

SlipperOrchid · 21/05/2019 20:04

Where do you live Seneca. I would burn to a crisp in 32 deg but as I contemplated putting the heating on today, right now it sounds pretty appealing......

EdWinchester · 21/05/2019 20:07

Another bloody bland coat dress. Sack the stylist. She has a perfect figure - I wish she would wear something fashionable for once.

I winced at her interview a bit, I will admit. The accent is so strangled and she seems so awkward with all the 'sortof' in every sentence.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/05/2019 20:17

The coat dresses are a good option for an event that requires some formality and the cuts always suit her. But she has so many that look similar. Like on St Patrick’s Day - she’s worn about 7 green coats that differ very little from each other!

Back to the wedding photos and PMoK, I’ve been to a couple of houses where there the wedding photos had a couple of Royals in. The best one was Diana, still PoW who was sitting plum in the middle of the group and the bride and groom were standing up behind her Grin

SenecaFalls · 21/05/2019 20:22

Florida. ☀️ I'm trying to convince myself it's still spring here because May is often one of the nicest months and I love the fragrance of our jasmine vine, which has a short blooming season. But it's soon going to be too hot to be outside.

UrsulaPandress · 21/05/2019 20:28

Aw. Max and the Duchess.

SlipperOrchid · 21/05/2019 20:53

Florida The image you conjured up of sitting outside in/on? your porch sounds idyllic!

queenofarles · 21/05/2019 21:00

seneca I lived in the desert and temperatures would shoot up to 40+C late May and stay that way till sep. 21C is cold for me!

The coat dress is so so,

hopeishere · 21/05/2019 21:04

I think she was very nervous and that was making her throat tight which was making things even worse.

I love the hat today!
