That recording of Princess Margaret is very interesting. She can across as a woman who didn’t suffer fools gladly. I particularly smiled when she answered the question with the word yes and only the word yes. I thought people used to being interviewed would have been coached to prolong any (non evasive) question and not give a yes or no answer

It is interestingly when asked if she went out and about, she said it was only a problem if she had been on the television or had been photographed recently. Obviously it must be the same for all of the royal family, and is a very good reason the Cambridge s release so few photographs and often with such a long intervals between them. It affords the children a great deal more privacy when they are out doing everyday things.

The word kiddies gives me the heebies. I always think of ‘kiddy fiddler’.

Horsemad · 21/05/2019 15:34

Poor old Princess MoK, not positioned next to her DD in wedding pic.

I think Kate's use of the word 'kiddies' is her trying to be ordinary.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/05/2019 15:57

Why are HM and the DoE in Lady Gabriella's wedding photos when they're only cousins?

Though I suppose if HM was my cousin I'd request the same!

Of course, to my American ears that sounds like she's saying "kitties" since we muddle our D's and T's and don't generally use the word "kiddies."

ajandjjmum · 21/05/2019 16:02

I thought that too Horsemad - she seems on the periphery.

AdaColeman · 21/05/2019 16:07

That is an interesting recording of Margaret.

I had subtitles turned on and some of her (and the interviewer's) speech patterns baffled the subtitles function, "ears" instead of "years" was one of many I spotted.
To be fair to Margaret, the interviewer asked her a lot of closed questions which invited a yes or no answer from her. More open questions might have encouraged more interaction from her, but possibly the interviewer was over awed or advised to be deferential.
Very interesting though!

Spudlet · 21/05/2019 16:28

Blimey, she wasn't giving much away, was she? Bet the interveiwer was sweating Grin

This popped onto my pinterest:

It's Prince Harry vs the DoE at similar ages - from childhood to now. I know the resemblance has been remarked upon, but they really are very alike and have been all Harry's life, if those pictures are to be believed (always a pinch of salt needed in case they've been shopped - I don't think so though).

First of the garden party photos from what I can see? (Although this thread often moves too quick for me!).

I am a fan of Kate in a coat, even if it is very safe. Lovely colours from her and HM.

It's very warm in London today, they must be sweltering! One of my colleagues is actually at the garden party today or tomorrow so I'll have to ask him about it.

I did wonder about the weather, they must be very warm.

I went to the Queens Diamond jubilee garden party and concert, was a wonderful day out and I have all sorts of memorabilia stored away - we were sat one podium over from the royals for the concert.

Can someone post the garden party photos please? I’m not seeing anything on twitter

UrsulaPandress · 21/05/2019 17:40

I like Kate’s bust today.

UrsulaPandress · 21/05/2019 17:42

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/05/2019 17:42

Just found some. Presume there will be other Royals pitching up.

@UrsulaPandress !!! I just spat my tea all over me there 😁

gingercat02 · 21/05/2019 17:53

Charles and Camilla are at a garden party in Fermanagh NI today. Love Camilla coat and what I can see of the dress www.youtube/_bJv2HfKCMM
Kate is just what I would have expected. She seems happy in her more formal uniform. I liked the coulottes yesterday but not the Erdem

gingercat02 · 21/05/2019 17:55

Sorry link fail. Trying again

frugalkitty · 21/05/2019 18:02

I think the pink coat looks a bit big on Kate today. Bet she was hot in it! Lovely colour though.

BlingLoving · 21/05/2019 18:28

Why are HM and the DoE in Lady Gabriella's wedding photos when they're only cousins?
I assume it's because the queen is the head of the family so is automatically included when she's around. The grand matriarch as it were, even if they're not in her family line.

Just actually popped by to check in! But saw garden party -love the hat but GOD she must be HOT. It's sweltering today.

ElspethFlashman · 21/05/2019 18:32

I like Kates look today. It's a lovely colour and not too tight.

BUT.

Is this new? How many pale pink coats and pale pink hats does she have at this stage? Buying new ones is madness.

SenecaFalls · 21/05/2019 18:35

How hot is it exactly?

AudacityOfHope · 21/05/2019 18:44

Coat dress 😴😴😴😴😴

escapade1234 · 21/05/2019 18:44

We peaked at 21C degrees in London today. I think they’ll survive!
