@Wetdogloveshubert is that the Fife tiara (3rd pic)?? That's my favourite UK one!!

queenofarles · 27/05/2019 13:08

Beatrice’s dress is Dior, I don’t think it’s the tag, as they normally attach it to the label and not down near the hem line,

I remember Reading many comments about Leonore having some behavioral issues, or maybe it could be sibling rivalry, really felt for the parents though, we all have meltdowns , but imagine having one televised!

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/05/2019 13:29

Didn't Meghan wear a dress with a tag attached in the same place? I guess it happens!

OP posts:
queenofarles · 27/05/2019 14:05

I think Meghan’s dress was from NAP, they usually attach the return tag at that place.
I’ve never bought anything from Self portrait, so do not know the label placement , but I know about Dior.

queenofarles · 27/05/2019 14:08

Oh it’s her entry pass , you can clearly see it dangling from her bag,

@Paradyning - yes, the very same! Beautiful in person, absolutely glorious.

Wetdogloveshubert · 27/05/2019 15:51

Some other pics. Horrid DM link, but some royal evening wear.

I love the cape on this dress. Very pretty.

Charlene likes her halter-necks, probably because they show off her swimmer's shoulders and arms so well.

Hah, the blonde woman in the floral ensemble is called Camilla and she's married to a Prince Charles! Bonus photo of HCP in a tux too.

Hope link works. It shows DoC's garden party outfits over the years and really proves @QueenOfTheAndals's point about the dresses nearly all just being versions of each other! How many Alexander McQueen pastel coat dresses could one person need! She looks great in them, but I reckon her collection is now complete.

SenecaFalls · 27/05/2019 20:57

She looks great in them, but I reckon her collection is now complete.

Also the shoes. Same color and basic style in all the pictures.

I like this year's dress the best.

Some of the comments are funny; to Americans (my neck of the woods anyway) "garden party" means cotton maxi dresses and sandals for the women and tropical floral (as in aloha) shirts for the men.

QueenOfTheAndals · 27/05/2019 21:45

Anyone fancy working for Princess Alexandra?

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/05/2019 07:24

There’s a cleaning job at Windsor castle
I think it would be a fantastic job. Windsor is where it all happens; you’d hear all the gossip.

RhubarbIsEvil · 28/05/2019 07:36

Oh dear. Less than 30 people have applied for the Princess Alexandra job.

Laiste · 28/05/2019 08:17

The cleaning job at Windsor ad fascinates me. I'm surprised they have to advertise tbh. I would have thought they would have preferred word of mouth and personal recommendations and would have no shortage on the list.

If you're going to clean for a living (i had lots of PT jobs at once when my DCs were little and 2 of them were cleaning for private clients) then you might as well clean a castle! More interesting than your usual 4 bed semi Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/05/2019 08:32

The Duke of Kent is looking for a PA top. Pay isn't much but I guess it'd be less stressful than being PA for one of the top tier royals.

OP posts:
CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/05/2019 08:34

Yes it’s really flexible hours, and only 20 to 30. It would be a great job to do part time. So interesting, and royal employees seem to stay for years / decades. If you were interested in the RF it would be fascinating

BlingLoving · 28/05/2019 08:59

Laiste - I suspect it's the same as large corporates where there's a requirement to advertise a job internally and externally? Although come to think of it, I know there's ar equipment for internal advertising but not sure about the rule for external advertising.

I saw that Instagram re parties. Sort of agree with her and the dress she picked out was definitely the most dress-like coat dress and the nicest. But yes there are only so many pale pink Alexander McQueen coat dresses any woman needs. She really has to stop buying them. I'm completely relaxed about them spending on clothes in a general sense but this is absolutely getting out of hand now.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/05/2019 09:15

I knew Kate had a lot of pale coat dresses but I didn't know it was quite as many as that! Where it really stands out for me is the green coats for St Patrick's Day - they're all so similar yet she wears a new one almost every year!

I wonder what Lee Macqueen would think if he knew his label would wind up more known for demure pastel coat dresses than the designs he originally did?

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 28/05/2019 09:21

Hmm, I see it differently re Kate's costume changes. We know about the Kate effect, every time she wears high street it sells out due to the demand. Presumably that goes for the high end designer stuff as well. She's promoting British designers through the world's media, it's the best publicity they could hope to get. Wearing the same thing over and over wouldn't achieve that.

I bet given the choice she'd be perfectly happy with a rewear.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/05/2019 10:25

The Trumps are visiting Japan at the moment. Bet the Japanese are thrilled. How small are Naruhito and Masako next to them though??

OP posts:
BlingLoving · 28/05/2019 10:59

I am a kate fan and I think this is still probably untrue. It's not her JOB to promote fashion. Yes, it's a side effect, and I think her and other royals, especially Meghan, give that some thought when making fashion choices. But it' snot part of the royal code. And frankly, she could just do half re wears and half new items and it would be a huge difference. Because as Queen points out, the St Patricks' Day green coats are getting out of hand now.

Laiste · 28/05/2019 12:25

Maybe she's not keeping them all. Maybe she's funding her obsession by selling the older ones on Ebay? Grin

BlingLoving · 28/05/2019 13:46

Even if she's not keeping them, I struggle to understand it. I mean, is there some kind of etiquette where it's considered bad form to wear the same dress coat to a similar occasion? I probably wouldn't wear the same dress to two weddings in a row if they were with the same group of people probably. But even with that, surely there are a million opportunities for her to rewear at different events? So new coat dress for St Patrick's Day parade then rewear said coat dress to church with queen next month, some other military event the following etc. Even more so with the pale pink and blue numbers - whip them out for weddings, christenings, church services, trooping the colour etc indefinitely.
