That's a thought @Laiste, I'll keep an eye out for a user called katiecambs123 or something like that on eBay!

It's not her JOB to promote fashion. Yes, it's a side effect, and I think her and other royals, especially Meghan, give that some thought when making fashion choices. But it's not part of the royal code.

I'm not so sure. I think it is an unwritten part, or has become so. Not for the Queen and some of the elder royal women, but since the Diana phenomenon I think there is an awareness of the opportunity to promote British industry. I'm learning from reading around the royals how much blatant fund raising goes on and how astutely they use royal patronage. The men do it by travelling all over the world shaking hands, the women are able to do it just by stepping out of a car.

I love that username idea!

I know with celebs, they make sure they get photographed by changing their clothes a lot, or if they don’t want to, they wear the same clothes; ie Madonna in Adidas tracksuits a few years ago, because there is no money for paps if it is the same outfit, as it does not look like a new photo iyswim

Kate’s “aididas tracksuit outfits” are her skinnies and Breton tops.
Her coat dresses are different enough that photos can be differentiated, eg st patrick’s Day 2011,12,13,14,15,16. Same as the cenotaph.

Both Camilla and Kate stick to a palette of pastels, white and cream so they stand out. HM has first dibs on neon and bright colours, and Meghan generally goes for navy, black, beige or blush unless she is on tour.

queenofarles · 28/05/2019 14:50

Honestly, I think British RF is the last place I’d look at for fashion inspiration, that includes Kate and Megahn, they both may think they are promoting British designers, but in reality I think they have zero effect on fashion, people look elsewhere for trends.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/05/2019 14:56

Apparently Kate and her children are huge influencers

queenofarles · 28/05/2019 15:04

The only time people show real interest in young royal clothes is when it’s from the high street,

Kate’s & other stories dress and MD trousers , were very popular but sadly both not British .

So I’m not buying the whole , they are promoting British designer talk.

And let’s be real here not many people can afford £3000 suits and coats, and those who do, trust me, Would never wear that type of style of clothing .

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/05/2019 15:53

Her coat dresses are different enough that photos can be differentiated, eg st patrick’s Day 2011,12,13,14,15,16.

Are they though @CurlyWurlyTwirly? We might be able to differentiate them because we keep on eye on royal fashion, the average person will just see a green coat.

I agree with @queenofarles that their high street outfits are the ones that get copied the most but I'm not sure that Alexander McQueen has seen a rush on pastel coat dresses in the past few years!

I agree Queenofaries, its a pile of BS and simply trying to justify one woman buying a quantity of the same coat in different colours. She simply likes a particular style and lacks the imagination to try something new. She is dressing her children in the same way. I have no doubt she rings Trotters footwear and orders the same canvas shoe from size 7 to size 12 and probably numerous pairs of them too so they are always 'new'.

It annoys me as there are so many people living in poverty in the UK and they have simply no idea of the living conditions of their 'subjects' for it they had, they would NOT buy multiple similar coats or kitchens

queenofarles · 28/05/2019 16:59

slipper it’s not just Kate , they all do spend a lot on clothes,im not against it , it’s the “we are promoting British craftsmanship” talk that I find irritating, i find it insulting to justify their love for expensive clothes that way.

it’s a good thing she rewears her clothes, but honestly it’s nothing groundbreaking, even the most obscenely wealthy do rewear there clothes,

queenofarles · 28/05/2019 17:00

What a ray of light and fun Max is. Imagine getting a visit from her whilst at a nursing home? Not that keen on the hat but love the emerald outfit. My gran would have loved being in this home!

yellowalstroemeria · 28/05/2019 18:01

That Chanel outfit is what I aspire to

I also love Beatrice Borromeo's dress a few pages back. Sadly I cannot wear light colours or I attract every speck of dust and dirt in a ten mile radius.

Letizia in Zara again. Not too keen on that sleeveless jacket, think I had something similar in 1993!

At least Leti is not spending thousands on one wear clothing and she frequently wears Zara, Mango and M Dutti (all Spanish).

latedecember1963 · 28/05/2019 18:37

I love Max's shoes.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 28/05/2019 18:49

Letizia is probably the only senior royal lady who regularly wears high street. She’s very often in Zara, then Hugo Boss and Adolfo Dominguez which is reasonably priced for her role.

QueenOfTheAndals · 28/05/2019 19:09

She and the Swedish royals are lucky to be able to go high street AND local and still have lots of choice!

There was a very upmarked 2nd hand clothes shop in Kensington Church Street where Diana used to offload a lot of her dresses. I recognised some when I was browsing there years ago. Apparently she used to keep the cash stashed in her desk drawer.
