@lizziestwin

Diana wedding guest outfits

I redid the link for you.
(Use the brackets; paste link; write a description close brackets

Thanks for the heads up on the outfits. They were very chic and tailored compared to the more ott outfits we see at aristo / royal weddings today.

Royal style & gossip: down with fleeces and double-breasted suits!
Horsemad · 26/05/2019 06:43

With the exception of the dress in pic 5, I like all those outfits 🙂

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/05/2019 06:44

Obviously speculation at this point; but Harry & Meghan are taking Archie to Africa-later this year

The visit is in early planning stages and apparently is a preparation for Meghan and Harry to have a long sabbatical on the continent.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/05/2019 06:46

I think dress 5 is probably just after she got married.
I think she was still shopping at Harrods with her mum. It was only after a Vogue stepped in to help her that she got super glam.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 26/05/2019 07:00

another beautiful dress (and sombreros) from Max

Horsemad · 26/05/2019 07:00

Just checked date and it was the month before she got married 🙂

Horsemad · 26/05/2019 07:05

Lovely outfit & hat for Max there. I think I'd suit that style hat 😀 so if/when my DS get married, I'll be trying one on!!

Spudlet · 26/05/2019 08:15

What a lovely dress on Max - so pretty.

BigGreenOlives · 26/05/2019 08:17

I was posting in the middle of the night, sorry for the multiple failures! The joy of insomnia.

Spudlet · 26/05/2019 08:20

Wow, that tweet about the Sussexes possibly going away brought out the crazy, didn't it? If you scroll down the Twitter thread, I mean.

No idea if they will actually leave but you need the hide of a rhino to be a Royal - I'd want to leave the planet, never mind the country!

banivani · 26/05/2019 08:38

There mustn’t have been any fancy state dinner last night cos Leo was at the Spice Girls in Croke Park.

God i laughed out loud there.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/05/2019 09:15

Any tweet about the Sussexes brings out the crazies @Spudlet, though it's always Meghan rather than Harry who's the target!

Back to Daylesford beansas. I’ve been to Daylesfors at Kingham and at Brompton Cross and it’s heavenly. The meat and cheese is well worth the eye watering price but sadly the organic veggies are so organic that they look a little tired.

Royal Dream #3

I came home from the school run to find a couple of royal female protection officers scouting around my garden. They said that I’d met the DoC and had invited her children round for a play date and they were on their way. More and more people started to arrive with walkie talkies, then the nannies arrived with a bus load of stuff for Louis. There was the most exquisite pristine white embroidered/quilted thing (it looked like a bed spread) which turned out to be Louis’ play mat.

For some reason, someone has thought that it would be a good idea to move our trampoline from the back garden to the front garden and to take off the netting. Even more dignitaries arrived with fancy frocks and big hats. I don’t think I recognised a single person. The next thing I see are the three children standing on the edge of the trampoline but here had been a flash flood and the next thing I knew was seeing Louis fall into the muddy water and getting absolutely soaked, with George and Charlotte standing watching him.

It was getting too chaotic at this stage so I battled through the mob to go inside and find my own son who was hiding from the throng and was playing in his bedroom wearing his PJs, dressing gown and slippers.

No sign of Kate. I don’t know whether she’ll forgive me for ruining Louis’ Bonpoint clothes but from what I saw, it wasn’t the first time that Louis had got filthy and George & Charlotte were clearly used to it.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/05/2019 09:36

Dear oh dear, I read those Twitter comments and now I feel a bit contaminated. And they zap MN threads for much less.

Although I agree about the photo of Harry and the vet. It's not the first time they have used someone else's image/poem/insta identity and not credited it. I'm assuming it's a staff member and not the Sussexes themselves but it's poor work. I'm surprised H&M don't correct this before it goes public. (Or am I?)

Notmyrealname855 · 26/05/2019 09:44

Max! She also gets in so right in looking royal but acting so warmly, she’s super

The only person who’s style I like as much as Max’s is MO (and love her generally too!). Don’t have much time for Melania, she benefits from gross Trump and I too can’t separate her style from who she is - aren’t the two things intertwined? She’s just a hypocritical show pony

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/05/2019 09:48

A few things struck me from those Diana photos.

  1. Princess Margaret in open toe sandals!
  2. Prince Charles looking quite handsome in profile, before he got pudgy and florid in the face.
  3. Prince William as a child had the same worried expression that Prince Charles had before him, and now Prince George. I wonder how much is First Child Syndrome and how much down to a more sensitive personality. Or do they know very early on what is in store for them.
RhubarbIsEvil · 26/05/2019 10:38

I think it’s a combination of everything, imaginarycat. It must be like being a living zoo exhibit.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/05/2019 10:40

I agree, @RhubarbIsEvil, but the younger DC don't have it.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 26/05/2019 10:43

Posted too soon. I meant to go on and say that it makes me worry for Princes Charles, William and George in terms of their fitness for the role. The Queen is a thoughtful person but she has a core of steel which PC and PW don't seem to share.

DevonUkelele · 26/05/2019 12:20

Great pics @CurlyWurlyTwirly ... agree with PP re the worried expressions, and the first child possibilities.

And how how tall is princess Di next to Margaret - towering over her head and shoulders, even in the low, sensible heels.

I liked di's outfit at Sarah Chatto's wedding. Also - is she actually wearing shorts in the first pic (I think it's the first pic - the beige/taupe/tan outfit) - shorts to a wedding? My eyes!

DevonUkelele · 26/05/2019 12:24

Looked again, it's not the first pic. It's the one in Bath, and it's not shorts. But, gee, they all look v stressed to be there.

IHeartArya · 26/05/2019 12:28

It’s a poisoned chalice really. Lots of riches but at what cost? Gilded cage- not for me.

Laiste · 26/05/2019 12:51

It's interesting about the elephant photo.

It's neither Harry nor Meghan in that shot, the man and woman in the pic are vets who happen to look like H&M from behind. So who first used that picture in conjunction alongside news about H&M and Africa?

Laiste · 26/05/2019 12:53

This one sorry
