@TracyBeakerSoYeah I could so imagine HMQ speaking the language of brooches. She's quite a wit!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/05/2019 07:24

I'm a little bit in love with Michele Obama. Coolest lady on the planet.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/05/2019 07:25

it was swf’s wedding anniversary yesterday

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/05/2019 07:28

Do you think Melania will channel Madonna doing lady of the manor and we will see tweed and twinsets?

Personally @CurlyWurlyTwirly I think it'd be more fun if she channelled Madge circa Blonde Ambition and showed up at the palace in cone bra and pinstriped suit'

And there it is twice

HCP and Sofia have their own foundation
It’s really simple but I love Sofia’s outfit

Ha, I was just coming on to post that picture of Queen Silvia in Ireland @CurlyWurlyTwirly! I love that wrap/shawl - looks so cosy and luxurious.

Ah, the Obamas. Such a stark contrast to the current repellent WH incumbents.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/05/2019 07:33

Wow, SWF Marie really hit the Fake Bake before the wedding didn't she? Her tan is up there with Pippa's at W&K's nuptials!

Melania First Lady Style

It is all very stepford Wife

MoonstoneMagic · 25/05/2019 07:48

What does Melania actually DO? She seems to do nothing productive at all
Trump is taking all his adult children and their spouses on the State visit. Unbelievable.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/05/2019 07:48

After hearing Charlotte exclaim «ooh là là» at the rhs, Rémi des me that Prince William actually speaks 5 languages
Not all fluent. However he called Charlotte «Mignonette» at the rhs; which means little cute thing. I guess George and Charlotte must be learning French as well as Spanish.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/05/2019 07:50

It’s a glorious networking opportunity so that when the Trump is finally booted out of the White House in 2020 ( fingers crossed) his kids will just use their contacts to make even more money. Shameless.

Thé Queen’s housekeeper has passed away
DM link. It does explain what she did; it’s more of a supervisory role.
Sad for HM that so many of her old retainers are dying because she is such a great age herself.

I think all of her engagements etc keep her physically active and her mind engaged. Despite all of her privilege, she does get up every morning and has work to do.

I was thinking Desperate Housewives @CurlyWurlyTwirly 😂

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/05/2019 08:10

If you haven’t seen it already; thread about Prince George’s bodyguards

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/05/2019 08:11

Oh god I forgot that he was bringing all his kids with him. His two older sons are utterly vile.

Shameless is their modus operandi.

For Ivanka Trump's wedding at the Trump National Golf Club, The Tiffany wedding invitations "had a flier inside for Donald’s other golf properties" that "offered guests a free round of golf at one of Mr. Trump’s courses," the New York Post and New York Times reported.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/05/2019 08:15

The housekeeper was only 72, not a particularly old age to die at these days. Says she started as a maid in her teens and worked her way up over 40 years of service. She never married or had children. Proper Mrs Hughes from Downton stuff.

It's hilarious how obvious it is that she hates being First Lady isn't it? When she married him she probably thought she'd never have to lift a finger again and could live in the lap of luxury - lunches, shopping, tennis lessons etc.

I doubt she ever expected to have to be First Lady and do some actual work. Especially after Michelle Obama, who's an even harder act to follow than her husband!

Still, Trump was always vile and she fully consented to marrying him so she's made her bed...

My brother and sister both qualified on the London rotation. The Chelsea & Westminster is notorious for self-inflicted stupidity injuries (whereas the Royal London is famous for its variety and severity of stabbing injuries).

An “avocado injury” is medical slang for something that is superficially straightforward but is going to be a bastard to resolve. Hand injuries, however you get them, can be very serious.

frugalkitty · 25/05/2019 08:32

I'm going to lower the tone here, but I'm sure I saw somewhere that you can buy frozen avocado.....Grin

mumdom · 25/05/2019 08:34

My favourite A&E euphemism is “Domino patient” which means, “Pissed. Make them wait.”

NoseofTralee
The visit of the King and Queen of Sweden was really under the radar. I saw or read nothing about it. I hope they stayed on for a non official holiday, as just visiting a factory would be dull Smile
Did I read somewhere that KCGustav has been playing away ?
Lucky Camilla getting all those goodies from Avoca- I do love Avoca- the food and all those lovely things you want but don't need.
Is Daylesford similar to the Avoca concept ?
Any poster been to both and can compare ?
