I would be HIGHLY surprised if it was a love match. I think they probably underwent fertility treatment to ensure an heir and a spare so that she could spare herself any future attentions from him.

It’ll be interesting to see who’ll be at lady Gabriella’s wedding this Saturday. Media is saying “senior royals” will be in attendance but it’ll be low key and not televised.

Gabriella's wedding won't be televised but I should think there'll be a camera operator and maybe a couple photographers there, so
we should get some frock shots. And Princess Michael will be queening it over everyone like its her wedding, that's for sure!

Maybe they’ve done a deal with Hello and we won’t see anything for a week.

Today was the 200th anniversary of Queen Victoria’s birth.
There was a programme on ITV about Buckingham palace. ( it’s available on catch up for a month)

Also an exhibition on Queen Victoria at BP from July till September. I’m definitely going to go; haven’t got round to visiting BP.

I think Harry is Gabriella’s 3rd cousin, so they’re probably not that close. Although geographically at Frogmore; they will be right next door.

I wonder if Princess Michael of Kent will wear that nice brooch she wore to the engagement party?

I watched the programme about Buckinghamshire Palace last night.
DH and I went the year there was the exhibition of the Queen's outfits down the years. It was slightly surreal seeing dresses I'd previously seen the Queen wearing on TV!
If you get the chance to go, Curly, it's well worth it. The palace staff who look after each room are very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. I know it's a cliche but there really are 2 bar electric fires in some of the very ornate fireplaces!
We had lunch on the terrace afterwards and it was no more expensive than some of the other ordinary places we ate that weekend. I kept my Palace monagrammed coffee cup and paper napkin for ages afterwards!

I bought 2 Buckingham Palace tea towels in the gift shop and keep 1 of them at our caravan. 😁

I agree with the above - the Royal Palaces offer better value for their catering than the National Trust. The last reasonably priced lunch I had was at Sandringham House 😄
