Are the ladies in matching teal skirts wearing some sort of national dress? It’s very Swiss or maybe North German?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 18/05/2019 13:48

Not keen on the MOB's outfit, I don't think the length of either dress or jacket does anything for her. And the gloves and bag are too fussy. I don't think anyone looks great actually, apart from Pippa - positively understated by comparison!

The bride looks beautiful though, which is the main thing.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/05/2019 13:54

I think Sophie's wearing Catherine Walker

queenofarles · 18/05/2019 13:55

Yes , I thought it was odd how MOB is wearing a Chanel bag with her wedding outfit, a clutch would have looked nicer

Lovely detail here, including the inclusion of the Ella rose Thanks

AhoyDelBoy · 18/05/2019 13:58

HMQs wedding looks throughout the decades including the stunning dress I’ve included as a screenshot.

No one apart from the Middleton women looks good,
Pippa’s dress is really pretty and Carol just gets better with age, she looks amazing.

The two helping with the wedding dress are actually the designer and her daughter, sorry but terrible outfits.

AhoyDelBoy · 18/05/2019 14:00

She’s too short to wear anything like that now I think, she’d look swamped.

AhoyDelBoy · 18/05/2019 14:01

Do you like the ruched arms on Pippa’s dress?

Paradyning · 18/05/2019 14:02

I was wondering if those 2 ladies were in national dress as well. Maybe from Princess Michael's region?

Paradyning · 18/05/2019 14:03

I quite like the arm ruching Ahoy

I think the silhouette of the wedding dress is very similar to Princess Alexandra's

beanaseireann · 18/05/2019 14:04

RhubarbisEvil.
Those women look like extras from My Fair Lady.

I'd love to see the front view of the women attending to Ella's train. Their outfits look lovely.
The hydrangea hat is awesome.

LadyCassandra · 18/05/2019 14:10

Groom has two sisters who both have daughters so bridesmaids could be them too. Love the wedding dress! My parents were actually sitting opposite the Royals, they had to turn their phones off, waiting to hear all the gossip!
Unfortunately it’s after 11pm here so you might need to wait!

BertrandRussell · 18/05/2019 14:11

Who are the two extras from My Fair Lady in the teal skirts?

bizzey · 18/05/2019 14:17

Hello ..i have been following this tread for ages.
I never have anything interesting to say ...but i keep "losing" you all untill it comes up in active.!
Anyhow i am on now .
Was anyone surprised that Fergie was there.?

beanaseireann · 18/05/2019 14:18

Thank you LadyCassandra

Llareggub · 18/05/2019 14:18

I think Pippa needs a better bra but I do like the dress.

The headbands are growing on me, I must admit, but then I wore an Alice band for years when I was a teen.

TSSDNCOP · 18/05/2019 14:20

The hydrangea hat was gorgeous! I'd totally wear that!

Haworthia · 18/05/2019 14:24

I had a feeling they were the dressmakers. You know you’re posh when the designer accompanies you to the church Grin

I must say, I don’t like Pippa’s dress at all. She always seems to opt for super frumpy, high necked long sleeved dresses. The dress at Louis’ christening was similar IIRC.

TSSDNCOP · 18/05/2019 14:29

The DOE and Fergie at a minor league royal (comparatively) wedding. Interesting.

Lady Helen was there.

The shots of the wedding party on the steps were charming.

I'd love to see what I assume is the BM's partner, gorgeous shades of pink.

I do love a Spring wedding.

PinguDance · 18/05/2019 14:29

St George’s chapel really is a dream wedding location isn’t it, looks fantastic with the flowers up the steps. Think the tiara is Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara - I have a book of royal jewellery 💁🏻

gingercat02 · 18/05/2019 14:31

I wonder why the DoC isn't at the wedding. Her whole family is but not her. William will be at Wembley for the FA cup final at 4pm but if Harry can go on is own surely Kate could too?

beanaseireann · 18/05/2019 14:32

The flesh colour on Fergie isn't good. Too close to her skin tone.
I'm disappointed to see Beatrice with that guy who dumped his fiancé ( they have a small child together).

Schoeny · 18/05/2019 14:32

The dress has some stunning detail on it.

PinguDance · 18/05/2019 14:33

Oh on second look I don’t think it is that tiara! Similar but with a slightly different arrangement - hmmm... will wit for a more committed royal tiara fan to provide a history.
