Previous thread

Any guesses on what Meghan will wear to introduce baby Sussex? I'm guessing Givenchy as it's her go-to designer for big events.

Then again she could surprise us all and come out in a JoJo Maman Bébé breastfeeding tunic!

Here is Oz it is reported that IT WAS DEFINITELY the Portland Grin

Glad all is well! Can't wait to see pics and find out the name.

RhubarbIsEvil · 07/05/2019 08:55

Meant to do a wink and not a sad face for Amy Schumer. Couldn’t load the Diana but I’ll try again later.

Is it me or has Charles been a bit absent lately? The only photo I’ve seen (which was kindly loaded by a PP on here) was him wearing a kilt.

I think Meghan will wear a coat as a) it’s so cold b) it’s a good disguise.

Elllllle · 07/05/2019 09:04

I put on so much weight in the last month of my pregnancy, I would have hated a very public photo a few days after birth and would have really struggled with what to wear! I remember Kate gave birth around the same time as I did and the pics of her looking so svelte so soon afterwards actually made me feel really terrible about myself.

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 07/05/2019 09:09

The papers obviously haven't the foggiest where she gave birth as the Sun's front page news is that it was a homebirth

I do wish news papers wouldn't report things until they were sure!

SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea · 07/05/2019 09:17

Pictures of baby Sussex tomorrow! I can't wait to see the cute little boy. I actually really like the way Harry and Megan have decided to do things. I think, although different for royals to do it this way (dad make the announcement on the day and then photos of baby/family 2 days later) it actually feels far more normal and relatable.

IdaBWells · 07/05/2019 09:20

Hello all

I still like Leo for the baby. Classic and royal enough (Victoria had a Leopold) and would work in the U.K. and USA.

Spudlet · 07/05/2019 09:24

Ellllllle Me too, I got really big at the very end and looked distinctly well fed for several months afterwards. There are only a couple of photos with me and DS as a baby that I actually like (also due to looking like an exhausted zombie, not just down to weight gain). I would have hated being on show as well.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 07/05/2019 09:25

Looking forward to seeing the baby now. I wonder if Kate is at all broody....

TokyoSushi · 07/05/2019 09:34

Checking in, thanks for the new thread! It's been a lovely announcement about the baby, looking forward to the pictures!

Elllllle · 07/05/2019 09:35

Sorry but also glad it's not just me Spudlet. It was literally the last 3 weeks (I went 1.5 weeks over). I gained approx 8 kilos and a billion stretch marks suddenly appeared.

Elllllle · 07/05/2019 09:36

Ha I'm betting Kate is thinking thank f*ck it's not me this time!

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/05/2019 09:40

I'm not sure she'd put herself through HG a fourth time but then I didn't think she'd do it a third time so...

DS and I were talking about K&W having a 4th baby, I think they might because they don't have the financial or practical constraints that most of us do so they can if they want to. That's not to say I'm being bitchy about their money, I'm not intending to come across that way, it's just the way it is.

The Queen is hosting a lunch for members of the order of merit at Windsor today and Anne and Sophie are both out and about at openings so plenty of frock opportunities later hopefully. I liked what Harry was wearing.

Spudlet · 07/05/2019 09:53

The BBC had a montage as their royal baby header at one point and I think he was wearing the same sweater in one of the pics, with Meghan. I think it was from when they arrived in Australia. Maybe it's his go-to 'I am knackered and need sleep' top Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/05/2019 10:03

Alexander, James and Arthur are the favourites at bookies just announced on the news. So I think we can safely say it will be none of those.

allworthwhile · 07/05/2019 10:04

No one ever found out where H&M went on honeymoon.

We did in the end, it was two countries in east Africa, one for safari and one for the beach.

Harry also wore that pullover for his podcast with Bryony Gordon; apparently it’s cashmere. It’s washing well! Grin

BlingLoving · 07/05/2019 10:26

Have been monitoring thread but have given up attempting to log in on my phone so can only post from computer. Hi all. baby JUST scraped into last thread huh?! Grin.

Definitely soft colour and casual chic for first photo - cashmere jumpers/ cotton shirts all in white/cream/pale blue. Trad photos with Meghan on bed/couch with baby in arms and Harry looking on adoringly. Suspect we'll see some with Doria too if she's hanging out at Frogmore. I suspect she's the kind of perfect granny who will doze on couch pushing pram with her foot from 9pm-3am to let exhausted parents get some sleep....

Anyway I'm hoping that they'll have either or both Michelle & Barack Obama as Godparents

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea. Trump's head would actually EXPLODE. Making it even more delicious! Grin

BlingLoving · 07/05/2019 10:29

when I'm rich, ALL my jumpers will be cashmere. They are warm, extraordinarily comfortable and notwithstanding being told to hand wash only, wash surprisingly well. I have a relatively cheap version from John Lewis - bog standard v-necked pullover - and just toss it in the machine on a delicates cycle with some Woolite and it comes out perfectly every tie. I've bought most of the men in my family versions at some point or another and always chuckle when I see my Dad in winter as he rotates my jumper and one other for comfort, warmth and the fact that they fit nicely and well.

motheroftinydragons · 07/05/2019 10:46

I thought Harry looked comfortable and relaxed (as well as over the moon!). Nice jumper! Far better than the smelly t-shirt my DH was wearing for four days straight for and after the birth of our first child when she decided to take her sweet time in coming so he didn't get home to change. New parent fail, forget to pack spare clothes for DH....

Second baby, we packed a change of clothes for him Grin Typically, he didn't need it, haha.

MM19 · 07/05/2019 11:23

Michelle Obama would be an inspired choice for godmother but it would send a very political message to Americans which is not really appropriate for a royal.

Prince Seesio of Lesotho would be a good compromise - he was Prince Harry’s guardian and co-founded Sentebale.

Pacho of Jaipur is Prince Charles’s godson and would be an excellent reciprocal choice as India is a key Commonwealth ally and trading partner.

AdaColeman · 07/05/2019 11:30

Oprah or Serena for Godmother!

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/05/2019 11:43

Whoever the godparents are, I imagine H&M will come in for criticism! Especially if they choose the Clooneys or Serena or Oprah. I imagine Meghan's friends whose kids were in their wedding party would be contenders. Maybe not Jessica M but her other friend, the mother of the two little bridesmaids.
