Previous thread

Any guesses on what Meghan will wear to introduce baby Sussex? I'm guessing Givenchy as it's her go-to designer for big events.

Then again she could surprise us all and come out in a JoJo Maman Bébé breastfeeding tunic!

Valegro is the horse Charlotte Dujardin won the Olympic dressage gold on at London 2012 www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=zgxnpXH-pB0

He retired after the Brazil Olympics, and he is a spectacular horse - I can totally see why HMQ was so happy to see him.

And a couple more

Phew, I just had a big old catch up on this post!

I think Meghan looked beautiful and Harry looks so happy and proud. They are obviously in that lovely newborn bubble. I would have loved to have seen her in a more comfortable soft outfit, it was all very structured and the heels were too high and loads of make up and hair deliberately tousled. I don’t blame her as she knew those pictures would go around the world, it would have been nice to have been more relaxed(both Meghan and Harry).

I hope to see a couple of photos of Archie where we get to see his little face.

I loved Kate’s nautical outfit from a few days ago, not keen on her red blazer though.

ajandjjmum · 10/05/2019 10:22

I thought it was quite nice that Harry wore a tie - presumably knowing that he was off to see his grandparents, and that Philip would be wearing a tie. Respectful of their opinion. My DF would often wear a tie to go shopping - mad but sweet - and obviously a generational thing.

Maybe Meghan was dressed smartly for the same reason.

latedecember1963 · 10/05/2019 10:22

I find the correlation between personality and clothing choices interesting.
Years ago I had my "colours" done with House of Colour and I'm a "sweetpea summer". At a later date I went to a clothing analysis class and my clothing style is "romantic engenue". I would love to wear something really dramatic or a bit more out there occasionally but when I try it on, it really doesn't suit me.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/05/2019 10:27

H&M's wedding anniversary must be coming up, think we'll get some new photos?

Those dresses really suit CPV but I think a softer hairdo would look even better with them. But she loves her gel! So for royal fashion foibles we have:
Kate - skinny jeans
Meghan - high heels
Max - giant hats
CPV - hair gel
Marie - CPM(!!)

I too would be more excited to meet Valegro than a newborn baby. I mean, babies don't do much, they're cute but they improve with age IMO. But Valegro...! Come on!

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/05/2019 10:53

Meghan recorded a message for an education for girls gala event that took place last night. I assume the message was recorded in advance.

@Spudlet totally agree, I'd be more excited about meeting Valegro than a baby too!

I bet she really wanted to ask Carl if she could have a go! She was probably kicking herself for not wearing her jodhpurs 😂

MotherofPearl · 10/05/2019 11:44

Agree about CPV's hair gel! I thought the yellow print dress by far the nicest on her, followed by the green botanical floral one.

frugalkitty · 10/05/2019 11:54

latedecember I'm a summer too, natural gamine.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/05/2019 11:57

If we're allowed to critique HMQ's attire for meeting her great grandson, may I just say that I thought she looked perfect for the occasion in her blue cardi and kilt. Lovely picture of them all cooing over the baby. Who took the photo I wonder?

Just had a vapour inducing moment - cooing autocorrected to coming.

SlipperOrchid · 10/05/2019 11:58

I think Meghan wore heels because she was aware that the photos of the three of them together, would look better if she and Harry were in the same frame! It was easier for her to wear heels than for Harry to stoop down. There is also a risk that she would look like a child walking through the doors with Harry towering above her and she would be pretty much only a head height above the baby in flats. The other alternative would have been for her to hold the baby but then Harry might have been a bit spare.

As a five foot two woman that’s my theory anyway 😀.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/05/2019 11:59

@MotherofPearl Her husband is addicted to it too, I'm convinced they have shares in L'Oréal!!

OP posts:
QueenOfTheAndals · 10/05/2019 12:01

Good point @SlipperOrchid. Officially Meghan is 5'7 but she does seem small next to Harry, even when she's got 3 inch heels on. He's about 6' I think?

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/05/2019 12:05

I don't judge her for wearing heels, @SlipperOrchid. I'd do the same for such a public appearance. I just think they were the wrong ones, too high and difficult to walk in. A lower heel, maybe a block with a thin ankle strap, would have looked pretty but more secure for her. Kudos anyway for making it out of bed, with her hair and nails done!

SlipperOrchid · 10/05/2019 12:05

I really don’t think she is five foot seven (maybe she put that height down to help get jobs) and Harry IS tall.

PinkieTuscadero · 10/05/2019 12:07

I have worked with a lot of actors and their official height is never their true height.

MM will be 5ft 4"

Thesearmsofmine · 10/05/2019 12:08

I’m only five foot and my husband over 6 foot but I live in flats! I would have just had us sat down tbh!

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/05/2019 12:08

For years I thought Letizia was tiny but she actually is 5'7. It's just that SFF is about 6'6!

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/05/2019 12:09

I think you're right about the height issue. Didn't think of that.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/05/2019 12:09

I know someone who met Kate at a gala and said she was about 6' in high heels. I think Diana was about that height too. (Not that I'm intending to draw a comparison between them!)

OP posts:
Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/05/2019 12:13

My mother said the Queen and Princess Margaret were tiny. As was the QM and George VI. We probably have to thank Prince Philip and Diana for the introduction of tall genes!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 10/05/2019 12:13

*were not was. Sorry, grammar pedant alert.
