Any guesses on what Meghan will wear to introduce baby Sussex? I'm guessing Givenchy as it's her go-to designer for big events.

Then again she could surprise us all and come out in a JoJo Maman Bébé breastfeeding tunic!

I can't put my finger on it. The skinnies thing. I think skinnies can look good (i wear them, they flatter me) but on me and even on DofC they'll never look formal, polished or expensive.

I'm sitting here trying to think of an equivalent clothes item which is innocent enough and is easy to wear but is too 'high st' on a duchess in the public eye for the day ...

but i cant! Grin

queenofarles · 09/05/2019 17:20

QueenofAndals I do follow her! love , Love her! And she did wear yellow recently , it was all yellow but very on trend.

escapade1234 · 09/05/2019 17:28

I don’t like the skinnies look on Kate because they are so incredibly tight, it’s a wonder she can breathe or bend. Wide leg trousers are so much nicer on her.

Calloway · 09/05/2019 17:34

Kate's super skinny skinnies just look dated. I know she's not going to wear wide leg trousers for a walk in the woods but jeans with a slightly looser tapered leg would look much better.

desertgirl · 09/05/2019 17:55

I don’t think the “common little Scottish girls” were HM and Princess Margaret; the quote was supposedly about the Queen Mother and Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, the other ‘royal wives’ in that generation (there was also Mrs Simpson, of course...!) both of whom were born into the Scottish aristocracy.

SlipperOrchid · 09/05/2019 18:14

I don’t like Kate’s skinnies at all. My SIL is very thin and wears skinnies all the time. IMO they make her (my SIL) look ill as her legs are very very thin and they highlight them but don’t flatter them.

The red jacket yesterday made Kate look very unbalanced - with a very wide and big top half which isn’t a true reflection of her figure.

RhubarbIsEvil · 09/05/2019 18:42

I always think of Max Wall when I see boxy jackets and skinny leggings.

I think Kate has an enviable figure and looks great in skinnies. If you've skinny legs and a flat tummy they look amazing.
Or if you've great legs you can hide your tummy with a longer top.
Personally I far prefer skinnies than boot leg or wider trousers.

PinkieTuscadero · 09/05/2019 20:14

Someone needs to steal all her skinny jeans in the dead of night. She's certainly fond of that boxy top with skinny jeans legs but I don't think it does her any favours.

I have the greatest admiration for Kate's confident and elegant mastery of heels. Meghan doesn't do too badly but she could take a tip or two from the DoC.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/05/2019 21:17

Disney have done a special Winnie the Pooh animation as a gift for H&M.

Laiste · 09/05/2019 21:22

Myimaginarycathasfleas i agree actually. DofC needs to lay off the skinny jeans, and Meghan needs to lop a little bit off her heel height to walk properly in them (not talking about the post birth video) She does have a bit of a 'coping with heels' walk in them and it affects the look.

Horsemad · 09/05/2019 21:23

Love the WTP animation 🙂

frugalkitty · 09/05/2019 21:27

I love the Winnie the Pooh sketch!

PinkieTuscadero · 09/05/2019 21:30

Very sweet, although the animators have been very flattering to Harry Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 09/05/2019 21:51

@Laiste I wish Meghan had chosen a different outfit for that photo op. I thought that, clothes aside, she looked lovely, softer and glowing. Amazing actually, for a woman who had given birth only days before. She seemed the most natural and unactressy I have ever seen her - probably too exhausted to be anything else.

But I thought she was trying too hard for a back to normal look. And the heels looked very hard work.

Diana had it right with her voluminous tents and flats. At least she could walk.

hopeishere · 09/05/2019 21:58

The coat Sophie has on at the horse trials would have been better than Kate's red jacket.

I didn't like Meghan's photoshoot dress at all but I hate the trench style and it looked very bulky with the belt. Plus her bra strap was showing. However she's no idea what might fit so am sure she had several outfits lined up and went with what she felt most comfortable in.

Timeistickingaway · 09/05/2019 22:00

I agree with that. I warmed to her, she seemed much more relatable. However, if she is truly a champion of women's rights, wearing a white dress with tie waist and crippling heels doesn't help. I thought she looked touchingly nervous and normal for once apart from that.

QueenOfTheAndals · 09/05/2019 22:14

Not sure when we'll see her next, probably the Trooping next month. I can't be too critical of her outfit, I think I went home from the hospital in hoodie, yoga pants and Converse! Maybe she didn't feel she needed to disguise that she's still got a bump? And if heels are what she wears all the time then she was probably okay with them.

CPM is the latest royal to do the trainers and midi skirt thing. The headline made me think for a moment it was some sort of charity that looked after actual seals!

MotherofPearl · 09/05/2019 22:24

White trainers, but at least less clunky looking than CPV's from the other week.

Spudlet · 09/05/2019 22:25

I think she perhaps felt nervous at the thought of a press call so soon after giving birth and with her new baby, and went for what made her feel 'dressed'. I think we can safely surmise that our Megz is not a flats kind of gal, so for her heels probably felt the safer choice!

She looked very beautiful, imo, and like a somewhat stunned new mummy - weren't we all that, even without the press calls?

Spudlet · 09/05/2019 22:29

Prince Phillip must be very proud that Lady Louise has taken up driving - he played a huge part in standardising the rules when he was President of the FEI.

To be fair, CPM is on a tennis court so she does need those Nikes!

Is it Leti who has Supergas?
