Love this too if you want a bit of a glam shine. You don't need to wear with such a full petticoat underneath like the model if you wanted it a little less understated

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 11:46

Don't say hat.

Please, not hat!

Weird headgear thing instead?

Is it church or non church ? If the latter then you can probably get away with some minimal headpiece type of thing instead.

Loyaultemelie · 05/05/2019 12:02

The pink one you posted and Simply's green are both lovely

JMAngel1 · 05/05/2019 12:14

Gorgeous.

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 12:19

Hotel not church.

Some strange head dress it is!

You def don’t need a hat for city or posh London wedding if you don’t want one!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 05/05/2019 12:35

Studio 8 is Phase 8's department for plus size women. They have a lot of dresses that are suitable for weddings.

DippyAvocado · 05/05/2019 12:39

I like it, think it would be fine with a jacket and do not think it's cheap. £50 would be my maximum budget for a dress.

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 12:41

I have ordered the entire Studio 8 range almost.

Credit card is weeping but for £100 on average for the dress it will be fine.

I might order the other one for flirty drink night

ReturnofSaturn · 05/05/2019 12:42

No it looks cheap and a bit naff.

Mummyshark2018 · 05/05/2019 12:48

I think given your height and size the style of the first one will suit you best, the way that it's cut it at the waist. Will be flattering. I live the green but the overlay does look a little cheap. The others won't do your figure and favours imo.

Mummyshark2018 · 05/05/2019 12:50

The studio 8 green wrap dress is beautiful also!

eurochick · 05/05/2019 12:54

The original dress is too much for a wedding (and a bit cheap looking). You can't really go wrong with most of those on the John Lewis wedding guest link posted. You don't need two outfits. If you have a jacket or something for the day you can cast it aside later.

Herja · 05/05/2019 12:59

This is what I'd wear for that look.

Better made, better fabric, similar feel to it, but classy and beautiful.

Sigh81 · 05/05/2019 13:01

No need to wear a hat! Particularly at a posh London wedding. V few people do.

I never wear one and it looks fine (I have big, long, curly auburn hair which is enough of a statement as it is tbh!)

ImNotNigel · 05/05/2019 13:02

It depends . Are you the mother of the groom or the bride ?

Stuckforthefourthtime · 05/05/2019 13:05

It would have been far too much for the recent posh London weddings we've been to, things are much more demure. More like this thevampireswife.com/collections/shop. Or matchy matchy and sleek Kate / Meghan style.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 05/05/2019 13:26

Or matchy matchy and sleek Kate / Meghan style

The thing is, what works for Kate and Megan doesn't work for larger women. I would look dreadful in something that they would look stunning in as I am fat with lumps and bumps so something very fitted wouldn't work at all.

OP I'm sure you'll find something that works in Studio 8.

NigellasGuest · 05/05/2019 13:29

End of July in England you could easily need a jacket!!

Downunderduchess · 05/05/2019 21:09

Absolutely!! It looks gorgeous, wear it & have a lovely time.

fashiondevotee · 05/05/2019 21:20

Have you seen [[https://www.eshakti.com/]] actual site, OP? They customise the dresses to fit your exact measurements for a fairly low price. I've never ordered, but I've had friends that have who were pleased with their order. They also supposedly treat their Indian workers well (good living wage and working conditions), if you're conscious about that kind of thing.

fashiondevotee · 05/05/2019 21:20

Messed up the link, sorry!

eShakti site

Nicecupofcoco · 05/05/2019 21:27

Not the green one op! It makes me think of Christmas tinsel!
The 2nd dress you posted in pink is lovely for a summer wedding!

MsMamaNature · 05/05/2019 21:39

No, don't do it! The fabric looks too shiny and there's too much cleavage on show. Neither of those are a good look for a wedding. Eyes should be on the bride not your boobs!

If you like that cut of dress consider something like these:
