How old are you, how old are the B&G?

Exactly how smart is the venue?

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 10:53

40's all round.

Smart.

DramaRamaLlama · 05/05/2019 10:54

The dress is described as "polyester dupioni" so you're not getting quality.

It's also far too low cut for a wedding. Even with good boobs.

ElloBrian · 05/05/2019 10:54

What kind of wedding - church / fancy venue ? Day or evening ?

AlaskanOilBaron · 05/05/2019 10:54

Someone posted this yesterday from Zara, I think perhaps something like it would be better

www.shoptagr.com/shop/zara/zara/limited-edition-one--shoulder-dressview-all-dress-time-woman-corner-shops

The dress you posted is cute but looks a bit cheap.

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 10:57

Can i ask something about English weddings?

I'm family and staying at the venue. It's an afternoon ceremony, lunch and then an evening do.

Could I/ should I have two outfits? One more day and the other more evening? Or is that just an excuse to buy two dresses?

OP posts:
SpeckledyHen · 05/05/2019 10:58

No - too low cut .

BuffySummerss · 05/05/2019 10:58

It looks very cheap and shiny so I wouldn't waste your money. Dupioni is a luxury fabric so the price doesn't reflect this, plus the 'made to order' nature at all. Have you looked at Lindybop, Chi Chi or Joanie?

I also very very much doubt a made to order dress would be sold on amazon. All their pictures of the dress in different colours is the same picture, just photoshopped in different colours.
'Design teams based in New York and India and clothing made in Indian factories.' That's not a bespoke dressmaking service. Founded, made and shipped from India- This isn't an American company.

Or like this

Ok so for afternoon ceremony and an early dinner (presumably that’s what you mean by lunch) you need something much more demure. I would go with a dress and jacket, then you can remove the jacket for the evening.

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 11:01

I'm 5'8 and size 22 but in proportion.

I think something structured would suit?

OP posts:
BuffySummerss · 05/05/2019 11:01

Just wear one outfit. 2 is excessive!

Langrish · 05/05/2019 11:01

Not for a daytime ceremony. Ok for evening if you’re into that low cut. Personally, I’m not, it just never looks elegant, however good your boobs Grin.

Langrish · 05/05/2019 11:03

Day and evening, 2 outfits? No, just one adaptable one with a jacket you can remove.

Kisskiss · 05/05/2019 11:04

The ‘made to order’ aspect and the price point makes me think it’s from a Chinese supplier (actually some of the makers are good, but you have to be careful and look at reviews and photos from previous buyers, most of the good ones are around 80 gbp and up though)

The fabric looks shiny in the photo and could potentially look cheap and stiff irl

Boomsk · 05/05/2019 11:06

No.

Honeybooboo123 · 05/05/2019 11:08

Ok. I have no idea then what to wear.

My size means most higher end shops aren't an option.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 05/05/2019 11:10

I think the dress is too shiny and too low cut to ever look classy, And regardless of how good your boobs are if you are size 22 then this is unlikely to flatter anything other than a very young, very slim woman.

ElloBrian · 05/05/2019 11:10

Wedding guest dresses, size 22

www.johnlewis.com/browse/women/womens-dresses/size=22/wedding-guest/_/N-flwZ1z13z0cZ1z0ropu

Pick one and then find a jacket to go with it.

www.coast-stores.com/p/savannah-soft-midi-dress-cc/2009943

Buy a size bigger as the come up small

ElloBrian · 05/05/2019 11:12

This is lovely for example:

CarolDanvers · 05/05/2019 11:14

I think the fabric looks very cheap even from a distance in those photos.

ElloBrian · 05/05/2019 11:14

I also like this which is VERY summer wedding-y.

When’s the wedding? Can you order and return if it’s a dud?

I think you might feel a bit ‘on show’ wearing it all day. In the UK guests don’t tend to change for the evening do.

What about something like this? m.evans.co.uk/en/evuk/product/clothing-7810902/occasion-wear-7467750/boutique-ivory-abstract-print-dress-8652409
