Previous thread

Surely this is the thread where Meghan has her baby??

A feminine form I should say. Charlotte also is.

hotcrossbun4321 · 23/04/2019 22:55

Actually, having said that, some of the previous royal British Carolines have er, interesting history so perhaps not! I also wouldn't be surprised by an Alexandra, though my own name has been mentioned a few times upthread which I'd be delighted about Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/04/2019 22:59

@SwimmingintheDeepBLUESea Yes, Kate is due at an Anzac Day service on Thursday but as it's a somber occasion I'm not expecting much style-wise, just another black coat.

But in the royal family, 'Louis' would always be associated with Philip's uncle, Charles's great uncle, Lord Louis Mountbatten, and Philip's grandfather, Prince Louis of Battenberg. I doubt if any other connotations would enter their heads

It might be associated with Mountbatten, although given Louis Mountbatten died in ‘79 (and therefore William never knew him), I’m a bit doubtful (I’m sure some media source or another will claim this link as fact, though)

But if you’re naming a future King, you look past personal connections, surely?

SenecaFalls · 23/04/2019 23:03

As for the legacy of Charles I and Charles II, they both managed to get two American states named after them as well what most people consider the premier city of the Southern US.

justasking111 · 23/04/2019 23:05

I just find it bizarre that the royal women go into seclusion towards the end of their pregnancies. What the heck do they find to do to pass the time?

Butterymuffin · 23/04/2019 23:10

Agree that there will have been pressure to choose a name for William and Kate's first born that would befit a British queen or king, and Louis is far too strongly associated with French kings for that. George has impeccable British credentials. Wouldn't have done any harm that it was/Is popular in general too - makes them seem more relatable. By the time of a third child and second son, they could presumably go a bit more off the range (whoa there!) and pick a name they liked on a more individual level.

I'd have to agree with the PP who said Phillip doesn't seem right for the Sussexes. I can see why there might be pressure to use it, and I like it myself as a grown up name, but on a baby? Baby Phil?

user1457017537 · 23/04/2019 23:11

I think that too! MM hasn’t been seen for a month or so, not even to pop to the shops or have a coffee.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/04/2019 23:16

We saw her a few weeks ago visiting that woo shop with Harry didn't we?

Butterymuffin · 23/04/2019 23:20

Personally I'd love a month in the house with no need to go anywhere, and I don't even have servants. Internet, Netflix, plenty of books and home shopping delivery and I'd be happy as Larry.

justasking111 · 23/04/2019 23:30

Not for me being locked away I had a burst of energy and just had to keep moving, doing things. Going out and about to pass the time. Especially for the first baby. I went out in a boat the day I went into labour just for something to do.

SleepingStandingUp · 23/04/2019 23:31

Thing is we don't see most of the royals from one week to the next if they're not working an event. It's only occasionally you hear of Kate popping into the pub to let Charlotte have a wee etc. So essentially she's on maternity leave, with a huge staff, a huge house and netflix on a really big telly

Inniu · 24/04/2019 00:12

She could be resting. I was on bed rest with pre eclampsia for the last few weeks with one of my pregnancies

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/04/2019 05:27

Meghan has just moved into a massive new house, she is probably busy getting it straight, having friends over etc.
She may well be visiting the Queen at Windsor. They’re on a private estate so we are less likely to know of their comings and goings.( which was the whole point of moving)

Leti in lilac
DM LINK
Queen Letizia of Spain is lovely in lilac for an awards ceremony
mol.im/a/6950281

Think this is a rare miss. It looks more like something Mathilde would wear. Love the snakeskin pattern shoes though

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/04/2019 05:42

Queen Maxima in green leopard print
Sounds awful; looks great!

Letizia in lilac with snakeskin accessories . The jury is out on this one. Opinions please?
I like the coat, but the dress is too fussy.
Shoes would be better with a different outfit.

Felipe on the other hand, is smokin’

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/04/2019 05:42

X post @paradyning!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/04/2019 05:45

She does have the most amazing legs!

Baby Sussex: An Investigation

I’ve been using the counter via google that counts between various dates. Don’t judge me.

Here is my timeline of the bump

Pregnancy announcement: 15th October 2018 which was 27 weeks and 3 days ago

October 23, 2018 Fiji tour and blue evening dress bump 26 weeks and 2 days ago. Photo here...

www.google.com.au/amp/s/m.huffingtonpost.com.au/amp/2018/10/23/meghan-markle-dazzles-in-glamorous-blue-dress-with-a-cape_a_23569828/

She’s a very slim woman but has short torso. Either way she would have had to be at least 13-14 weeks in that blue dress/Fuji photo making her due any day.

Of course they were planning on announcinf before the tour as the wardrobe would have needed a complete rethink to keep it a secret.

kates maternity leave always starts a month before she has the baby. I think Meghan is due any day.

First babies are always overdue.

Mummylovesbags · 24/04/2019 05:58

Well first babies commonly overdue.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 06:30

I like Letizia's lilac outfit, the dress looks better when you can see a bit more of it. I'm surprised Kate hasn't snapped it up but I don't think she's ever worn Herrera.

And only Max could carry off green leopard print!

Agreed Curley. Smokin' Felipe!
Still think it looks Mathildesque

Paradyning · 24/04/2019 07:05

On the EDD speculation. She's defo overdue now as I think she's a few weeks in front of me

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 07:34

SussexRoyal (looks like it might've actually been Meghan herself) has left a comment on the KP Instagram wishing Louis for his birthday and several other followers have lost their shit because she wrote "happy birthday Louis" instead of "happy birthday Prince Louis"! You couldn't make it up...

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 07:36

Felipe just gets Silver Foxier with the passing of each year!
