As if the relative of a baby would ever say Prince Louis.

GrumbleBumble · 24/04/2019 07:44

I still think her EDD is end of this week so we could have another 2.5 weeks to wait. I don't think Doria would have left it until after the due date to come over.

Stravapalava · 24/04/2019 07:47

I like both Leti and Max's outfits. When I read the descriptions, I thought I'd hate them both. The colours are great on both ladies.

I don't think baby Sussex will be here until May.

Mummylovesbags · 24/04/2019 07:47

@GrumbleBumble wouldn’t she just get on a flight as soon as she went into labour if the baby came before due date ? I think it’s any day now. California is what, an 11-12 hour flight ?

Becles · 24/04/2019 07:49

I made the mistake of reading the daily mail comments (when will I learn to move past that well of bile?)

The commenters are alternately accusing her of a major etiquette breach for not calling him prince (also a clear sign she's jealous her child won't be HRH), trying to upstage the day by wishing him happy birthday on Instagram rather than a card (apparently a genuine person wouldn't be caught dead making it about her on social media - although prince Charles also sent online greeting), introducing clearly depraved behaviour by signing with XO, showing no class by being pushy and preventing harry's attendance at birthday celebrations...

GrumbleBumble · 24/04/2019 08:06

Mummyloves I'm sure she would have got on a flight if labour had started before she was planning to come over but I think the plan would be to be here before the EDD. My mum is a 7 hour journey away she came to stay about a week before my EDD (so was here for about a month as I went to 42+3). Had I gone into labour sooner the plan was for her to head over ASAP but we made sure she was here before I was due. Doria has to get to find a flight get to the airport, check in fly's over - would take an absolute minimum of 15 hours, Meghan is fit and could labour fast so if it were mehh I'd arrange for Doria to get here before the due date. That said my mum was potentially my birth partner so it was important that she was here in time.

gingercat02 · 24/04/2019 08:09

The only up side the state visit from Trump will be a state dinner. Frocks and tiaras all the way 👸👗👠👑

frugalkitty · 24/04/2019 08:11

I love Leti's outfit, saw pics last night on IG but didn't post on here.

I'm going for Arthur for baby Sussex should 'it' be a he (just rewatched Merlin on Netflix). Maybe Meghan is tucked up at home rewatching Suits and wondering at the whirlwind this last year or so has been for her.

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2019 08:11

People really hate her dont they.

brizzlemint · 24/04/2019 08:27

It's awful how people can be so wrapped up in hate for somebody who they will likely never meet (thank goodness) and who they have no idea about. It just shows how racist some people are, at least that is the only reason I can think of for the vicious comments that the DM publishes.

I'm not a fan of the green leopard skin, Max can pull it off but I don't like it personally.

Horsemad · 24/04/2019 08:35

Think Leti's dress is a bit fussy, like her shoes though!

Max's dress looks lovely, she suits the colour.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/04/2019 08:41

Isn't Pippa's baby called Arthur? So I doubt it would be that

desertgirl · 24/04/2019 08:47

Why would Pippa’s baby’s name be relevant? I definitely did not consider my siblings’ inlaws’ kids’ names when naming my children!

AFifthOfKoolAid · 24/04/2019 08:52

Because it's someone in the family. If someone close enough to me to be invited to my wedding had a baby in the last six months I wouldn't use the same name.

Also Arthur is a shit name.

strangerthongs · 24/04/2019 08:54

disliking someone's behaviour/actions does not equate to racism unless that behaviour/actions is a result of that person's race!

criticising the incessant bump touching, the ill-judged 'writing on a banana' thing etc are nothing to do with her skin colour

how ridiculous to suggest that.

I am a huge suits fan, she's a great actress and a beautiful woman, but as a person, I cannot warm to her. I do, however, hope she has a safe pregnancy and wish baby sussex would hurry up as I love seeing the royal babies!

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 08:58

I don't agree, I think had Kate done any of those things she wouldn't have been condemned anywhere near as much. There are photos of her touching her bump too. There's also plenty of photos of Meghan where she isn't touching her bump but the press always choose to print the ones where she is.

As for the writing on a banana, the publicity resulted in the charity getting more donations than ever before so I'm not sure how ill-judged it was.

OP posts:
brizzlemint · 24/04/2019 09:01

I think some, not all, people are being super critical of her because they are racist but are not stupid enough to say they are racist so they nit pick in other ways. I don't think it's ridiculous at all.

Rhubarbisevil · 24/04/2019 09:01

Well, Meghan, I think you’ve behaved with great dignity. Can’t wait to see Baby Balonz next weekWink

StealthPolarBear · 24/04/2019 09:04

Criticising someone for touching their own stomach? There's something very odd there.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/04/2019 09:05

Or Balonza/Balonzette for a girl @Rhubarbisevil!

SevenSeasofRye · 24/04/2019 09:08

I would reckon Doria would arrange to be there a few days before the due date at least . I reckon she is due about now but may well go two weeks overdue. I reckon it’s a May baby too!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/04/2019 09:09

Bearing in mind Doria is also a yoga instructor, she’s probably here helping Meghan get comfortable and prepare for the birth.
Meghan must be desperate to get the baby out. A month ago that bump was huge.
I presume Megs wants as natural birth a birth as possible so an induction will probably be a last resort.
I reckon if all goes according to plan, it will be a birthing pool at home.
If medicalised, she will be off to Frimley Park.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/04/2019 09:13

So this is the exact sussexroyal tweet

“Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us 🎂🎈xo”

Of course written by Meghan.
She’s not going to lumber down to Clinton Cards and pick out a card.
I would hope the Cambridges visited her at Frogmore when they went to the Easter Service at Windsor.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 24/04/2019 09:17

I didn't mind the bump touching, it's a first baby and she's an older mother. I thought the banana writing was cheesy but kindly meant.

I was a Suits fan but I wouldn't describe MM as a great actress. It's basically a soap with ridiculous dresses. if you want to see some truly out there workwear head over there, Donna the secretary in a white dress with huge voluminous bell sleeves ffs.

On the race issue, I am genuinely delighted that there is at last a prominent non-white member of the royal family and everyone I speak to says the same, so I don't think it's fair to say that all reservations are about race.

Becles · 24/04/2019 09:17

@strangerthongs

disliking someone's behaviour/actions does not equate to racism unless that behaviour/actions is a result of that person's race

Obviously you have missed study after study and anecdotal reports by people of colour who repeatedly say they experience hyper criticism, micro aggressions and snide comments about everything. While the average white person's view is that these are minor things to brush off, imagine the impact if this is a possibility in every encounter.

Anyone saying that because Meghan hasn't seen flaming crosses on her lawn, so there's no racist undertones misses the insidious nature of modern racism. Open your eyes.

the ill-judged 'writing on a banana' thing What exactly was ill judged about the banana? Lots of people saying it was a faux pas, but I'm not sure just why. Please could someone enlighten me?
