Evening all Grin

Apologies for the cheesy thread title.

Come and join the MN Perfumistas for gorgeously-scented chat (or Germolene and burnt frankfurters...)

sorry that should be 130 bottle not £130 haha poor typign today

MrsMoggs · 19/04/2019 18:36

Of course anything smaller than 15mls doesn't count One Smile

If you've got anything you want to move on we could get a bit of an Easter swapathon kicked off?

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 20/04/2019 10:04

Ooh I might want to take Freeway off your hands floofy but won't be able to work out my swaps until tomorrow (got family round today for early Easter lunch) - so if anyone else gets in there first that's fine!

SOTD is Philosykos Grin it really is perfect for the sunshine

I have a 30ml bottle of 4160 Amberama, sprayed once, that I'd love to trade (my holy grail trade would be Eau My Soul, if anyone has a partly used 30ml bottle that they don't love! But happy to consider anything by 4160 that's not fruity, or anything else really).

I also have Floral Street Athena Collection -- four nicely handbag-sized 10ml bottles of Black Lotus, Iris Goddess, London Poppy and Neon Rose. Still in its box but missing the lid. Sprayed each one once but just doesn't suit me although I was sure it would. Happy to trade, not sure for what.

And a 15ml travel bottle of Hanbury by Maria Candida Gentile. It's really gorgeous, but the smell of mimosa reminds me so much of scents from my childhood that it's too much 'of an era' for me. I would love it if anyone has a 15ml travel bottle of a Maria Candida Gentile scent that they want to trade for this, but happy to consider anything else too!

I probably have some other stuff but those are the ones that spring to mind immediately!

Calmasasleepycat · 20/04/2019 11:46

Count, I have the Rook sample set and am very happy to send it on to you if you would like it? I have tried them all, but there’s enough left in each to test as they are very strong. I don’t want anything for them. The only one I really liked was Forest. It has a strong pine wood opening which is a bit overwhelming tbh but soon dries down to green notes and then to my favourite bit, a fragrant soft drydown with incense. In the end I decided not to buy it, even at the sale price, because the drydown is really very soft on me, just a faint skin scent really. It could just be the wrong time of year.

teta · 20/04/2019 14:27

Wearing vintage Eau d private collection today.
It’s really hot here and I’ve spent the morning looking futilely for coconut essence for dds birthday cake. It’s a Mango cake but has coconut in it too. Did pick up numerous mangos which are now baking in the sun and lots of strawberries for our visitors for the weekend.
I have lots to swop. Will list them later.

Iambuffy · 20/04/2019 16:31

I have:
Very Valentino - sadly now discontinued. Utterly gorgeous but just too ladylike for me :) about a third left.
Avon velvet amber - very pleasant scent - 30mls sprayed twice
AT elle pour maroc 1.5ml spray
4160 tuesday small amount of mrsgloss lemon sherbet - maybe 3ml?
Sotd AT ACDD as we are out later :)

MotherOfDragonite · 20/04/2019 18:38

SOTD was Sideris again. I love it so much! I seriously need to consider a full bottle as I am wearing it all the time.

MotherOfDragonite · 20/04/2019 18:41

Mango cake, teta! That sounds divine (and also difficult? or maybe that's my baking fear coming out). Does it involve actual mango? I've seen coconut essence in the baking section at Waitrose if that's any help.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 20/04/2019 19:34

SOTD MMM Beach Walk. I love this, but think it is so rarely warm here I couldn’t justify a full bottle.

teta · 20/04/2019 22:46

mother the Mango cake was fantastic. It had coconut in it plus coconut oil and was very light and slightly chewy. Plus it was layered with sliced Mango and cream cheese/whipped cream frosting and Strawberries. All made by Dd2 (14) who is a master cake baker ( and has been for years).

MotherOfDragonite · 20/04/2019 22:51

@teta It looks to me as if India might be back in stock at the MB shop. Public service announcement! Mine arrived today and it is really lovely, very spice-heavy with cardamom and coriander over florals.

That cake sounds luscious. Maybe I can train up my DDs! (I am not a natural baker).

YesQueen · 20/04/2019 23:23

Nenuco for me today, I was craving something light and fresh

YesQueen · 20/04/2019 23:29

Ooh for swaps I have
FB (50ml I think) 4160 lightening ridge
FB 4160 amberama
Georges rech muse poudree 100ml
(Old but someone might want it!) 50ml left of Clinique simply
SJP stash roll on
Lots of 4160 samples (ask and I will check!)

Not bothered about value as they're just sitting there but my dream/random list is

Le labo Labdanum
Anything by clean
Library of fragrance new baby
Anything by CB I hate perfume
4160 sexiest scent
Any form of Spanish baby cologne!
Anything sharp citrus (I love lemon/lime/orange)
Anything marshmallow!

MotherOfDragonite · 21/04/2019 17:51

SOTD was Monyette Paris.

We went to church and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. I'm not at all religious and I sometimes wonder why I go, but the kids enjoy it and I love the music, the quiet time, and (cough - no wonder I am a Tauer fan) the incense!

I've just tried on a bit of AT Sotto La Luna Gardenia and it's gorgeous, all spicy sweet gardenia.

MissBattleaxe · 21/04/2019 18:33

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't popped in for a while. Where is this year going? January had 114 days and then I blinked and it's April.

Anyway, I have just reviewed 4160 Tuesdays Red Queen on the blog and thought you might be interested. I'm a Mumsnet blogger so it's Ok for me to post a link.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/04/2019 21:04

mother I am also in the Tauer gardenia.

Lotsofpots · 21/04/2019 22:21

I can't even remember what SOTD is as Line of Duty has just blown my mind.

I think it was something nice and summery though.

MotherOfDragonite · 21/04/2019 22:47

What are the chances, Judy?! I wasn't expecting to like it so much. My 5 year old has also sniffed it appreciatively and told me to buy a full bottle... Grin

teta · 22/04/2019 08:38

I like the sound of the Red Queen Miss Battleaxe. I also really adore Nahema and this sounds like a stunner.
Mother I’m still waiting for my Marina Barcenilla bottles and India sample. Is the India as brilliant as you thought it would be?
How about the other bottle of perfume?
Wore the eminently suitable Angelique Lilas yesterday for a hot sunny day. I have a third of a bottle from a swop and it lasted all day. Typically I always seem to fall in love with the discontinued Aqua Allegorias.
I still haven’t sorted out my swops yet. I have family staying. One of which tried to play the Piano at 8.15 this morning. I did point out my teens would not be happy given that they’re more nocturnal. I would be interested in the Clinique Simple, as it was the perfume I bought when I had my twins. It smelt of Soya and was soothingly milky and seemed appropriate for life with babies. I need to dig around and see what citrusy perfumes I’ve got.
If I can cope with my full on demanding visitors. I’ve retired back to my bedroom with a cup of tea to get away from all the talking😁.

MrsMoggs · 22/04/2019 11:17

Anything to swap MissB - we're having a bit of a spring clear-out?

Teta - I feel your pain. Guest dressed and down for breakfast at 6.10am Shock this am.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/04/2019 11:32

mother I really like it. I must not buy more full bottles of anything!

SOTD Heeley Sel Marin, for working on Easter Monday. My human rights are being violated!

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 22/04/2019 12:18

Argh, Line of Duty! I'm fairly sure I involuntarily yelled nooooooooooo! at the telly Grin. SO good. Love Jed Mercurio's writing.

SOTD is Phaedon Eau de Concombre. Just been for a lovely walk in our local bluebell woods and now working on my tan in the back garden. Back to work tomorrow, booo.

MotherOfDragonite · 22/04/2019 15:51

teta, yes, I really love India and it is glorious. I am a little sorry I bought Perfume Garden, though, as although it is just beautiful it is too floral for me (not sure what the note is but something that really isn't "me"). It was a great deal at half price but I still kind of wish I had put the money towards a full bottle of Sideris, which I wear regularly and covet!

MotherOfDragonite · 22/04/2019 15:52

SOTD was MH Pamplemousse for a walk on Hampstead Heath. It's so hot!
