SOTD FM POAL. I am such an idiot I have mysteriously lost the last two days of antibiotics I am on for my sinuses (just the blister pack, the box was still in my handbag) and ended up having to go through the very un-fragrant bin. No joy, and I had to ring NHS 24 and get a new prescription to pick up in Boots. Where ARE they? I didn’t even leave the house yesterday, so they are in here somewhere.

NO SOTD today as went looking for a summery evening type perfume for holidays in a couple of weeks. Tried all sorts but nothing really grabbed me. I do like my MFK Baccarat Rouge in all weathers so will definitely take that.

Having a little look on eBay tonight and found an 11ml MFK Grand Soir which I've been after for ages, so snapped that up! Also a mini Clinique Aromatics Black Cherry from the same seller- not tried it, but sounds right up my street.

buffy it’s a total mystery. They were in my handbag in the kitchen. I was taking the tablet at lunchtime (it’s last-ditch doxycycline, one a day, because this has been going on forever!) and when I went to take today’s the box was there, but no actual pills. The only thing I can think of is I put the pack down on the kitchen table, then scooped it up with washing I was sorting. It will turn up inside a duvet cover in three weeks. The NHS 24 pharmacist was brilliant at sorting it out - although obviously I said it must have fallen out in the street - and we were in town anyway, so no harm done.

aubergine I checked but I've only got about 2ml of lemon sherbert left otherwise you could have had that.

I'm determined to go to the gym and do yoga today.

I'm becoming slothful.

buffy, I'll get the Tauer's in the post to you tomorrow as I didn't get chance over the weekend. Sotd today will be the PP dupe of Soleil Blanc I think to celebrate the sun being out!

It sounds very energetic going to the gym Buffy. I am going to spend the day coercing Ds1 into packing his D of E stuff as he will probably leave it to the last minute.

Yeah I was premature! Sun has disappeared so I've gone for Mandorlo di Sicilia instead, super sweet almondy goodness!

Hello. I'm a lurker. I'm also addicted to 4160 Tuesdays. I love all of them. Anyhoo been gifted a £40:00 voucher for The Perfume Shop and have no clue what to spend it on. Help please. Last non niche perfume I bought was probably Calvin Klein. Always loved eternity and truth. Fancy trying something different.
If you were me (45 years old) what would you buy?

Hi strawberry I would probably go for a classic, a good solid, well-known brand; something like Dior Addict, Dune or Miss Dior Originale.

Perhaps Azuree by Estee (I've always fancied a bottle of that)...or I'd be tempted to give Gucci Rush a go

SOTD has been Tauer Patch Flash.

Estee Lauder do some good non niche perfumes. Tuberose Gardenia, Pleasures white linen. O de Lancome is lovely for summer. I've never owned it but have a squirt at the counter pretty often. Dior as above has lots of lovely stuff. Shalimar is beautiful

strawberry, I agree with the above suggestions. Also, try some of the Hermes. I particularly like 24 Faubourg, a classy floral, and Twilly, which has notes of rhubarb and ginger.

cantbelievemyeyes, Marks & Spencer’s stock Fragonard perfumes and also Roger & Gallet. They include lots of summery scents.

SOTD is MMM Beach Walk. It wasn’t quite right for hailstones, but I really do love it and wish I could justify a full bottle.

Scooting through the perfume shop website theres also Paco rabanne lady million which I like, really sparkling, YSL Paris and DKNY Be Delicious and the Issey Miyake all at about 40 quid or very close to.
Depressing to see the endless Flanders. It's so boring I cant understand it. But I guess it's like my clothes shopping default of buying yet another navy top.
For Hermes and Dior I def see more expensive things I'd put the money towards. Like the Dior grande dames which I always want to own I just don't want to spend actual money buying them. If only perfume were free...

Guerlain also- as well as the shalimar which is only just above 40. Theres Samsara which I love. And Mitsouko at least.

Wearing Annick Goutal Le Chevrefeuille for a beautiful sunny day. Yesterday was really grim and cold and I needed hot soup for lunch and fried noodles for dinner. Given that I’m on the fast 800 diet I used Oomi noddles and they were fantastic.
I also appear to be slightly food obsessed at the moment😳.

Oh teta, I'm on a fast day today (just normal 5:2 though). Don't really feel in the mood though, had a shocking night's sleep with earache and low-level stress about ds's exams which start tomorrow. Feel shattered and just want a bacon sandwich.

SOTD is therefore Salome in a bid to feel like a grown up who is in charge of her life and eschews processed meats and white bread. It ain't working though!

Will a Ryvita with Bacon work😁.
