Goodness - you've been very chatty over the weekend! Love the photos - especially the leather jackets. Both cherries and never look brilliant! I know they've all gone/going back
but the itches have been scratched. I also love that M&S faux one - that looks super useful for spring. I always have a bit of an ethical crisis with leather jackets and bags/belts as I'm vegetarian (shoes not so much, as there really isn't anything as comfy as leather shoes, and I do need to look after my feet...) - so I'm definitely up for good quality faux leather. (Though I do have a loooovely tan leather jacket that i got second hand, so the poor cow had already died for someone else... bad, bad ethics, sheep )
laska - I know you're feeling critical of yourself at the moment, but you do look great with the crops, sandals and the jersey shirt! Really lovely outfit, and you don't look porky at all (as I always say, i'm always really
of your legs). I think if you need to keep only one I'd go for the larger. Life is too short to be made to feel guilty by having clothes that you bought to slim into...and I'd be really annoyed with myself if there was a perfect occasion to wear them but they were still a bit small. Though you could of course view keeping both as an investment and hoping you can recoup some money on eBay if they sell out! (like those star jeans - still
at the price they went for!
Well done all on the bikes - I haven't been on a bike since school, and I did find it a nice thing to do to get some fresh air. But I've definitely got more anxious in my middle age, and am just too scared to go on the road now having seen far too many car/bike near misses... DS cycles on the pavement which he's probably getting a bit old for, and I trek along on foot after him... I'm such a wuss.
ella Holy Island is fab
i hope you have a great time. I used to go each year with a group from uni, and much use was made of the fact that the tide cut us off from the mainland, so the licensing hours in the pub were rather erratic (as no licensing officers were around to see
). Watched the sun rise over the beach a few times, which was beautiful...Happy memories (and not-so-much memories).
justilou -I'm glad your first placement has been such a success! You definitely need a bit of time to rest with some wine I think. Assignments, children and squeaky llama can wait. And glad its a bit cooler now!
soy
for you and your DS. it does sound hard, and like you say, especially as you haven't been feeling your best anyway. Hope you're fully on the mend now.
And yy to using the thread to discuss all sorts of random stuff, including diet tips
. I'm definitely of the mindset that no food is "bad" and couldn't contemplate giving up anything "for ever" (apart from meat, apparently - that is easy!). And I'd much rather have a "proper" pudding occasionally rather than a low fat, sugar free chemistry experiment every day. But unfortunately, with that mindset, I really need to work on portion control and controlling snacking she says, stuffing a buttered hot cross bun into her gob, because they are in the kitchen, and I need something to get me through the afternoon... . I would really like to lose a stone and a bit to be honest, though allegedly I'm at the top of a healthy BMI. I'm just feeling a bit blah about a few things at the moment, and I can't really motivate myself to do anything about it. And apparently my old trick of having a couple of days a week when I only have one meal combined with peri-menopausal hormones turns me into a seething bag of rage. Which is nice. So that's not a go-er any more! The med diet seems pretty good though - like the sound of that.
