@SoyYo there is a wealth of information there, and there is a between-bootcamps chat thread where people will be happy to help out with answers to questions. There are low carbing recipe threads and also a resource of lots of the science behind it. I’d definitely recommend a visit over there if you’re interested.

Soy so sorry to hear you are struggling with worry of Ds, hopefully once his therapy starts that will encourage him & he can work through issues in a safe way & benefit from the intervention & support💐
Yy having something else to focus on & some self care for you will help especially with support from all lovely posters.
Nink sure someone will be along shortly who, can advise with sizing & well done you very impressive.

SoyYo · 14/04/2019 11:51

Thank you @len it’s been emotionally draining the last week...appreciate the kind comment and really hope you’re rightFlowers

SoyYo · 14/04/2019 11:53

And nink Hush is super generous so as a rule of thumb go down a size from high street sizing but also weird...some things can be TTS. If you’re after a specific piece it’s easier to say 👍

Ninkaninus · 14/04/2019 12:06

Thanks Smile

I’m looking at the following:

www.hush-uk.com/womenswear/daywear/tops/hooded_dolman_sloppy_joe_coral.htm

www.hush-uk.com/womenswear/daywear/tops/embroidered_s_s_sloppy_joe_black.htm

www.hush-uk.com/womenswear/daywear/trousers_shorts/keira_culottes_olive.htm

I’m thinking I’ll get M in the two tops and a 10 in the trousers. They will probably come up a bit small but I always work to take off a few pounds for summer, so I’m looking for them to fit just right in a month or two.

SoyYo · 14/04/2019 12:11

Yes @ninka I’d say if you’re std big 12/14 up to small 16 in high street a M top is plenty big enough.
I got the Kiera culottes in a 12 in the sale and even in my current porky state thinking of trying a 10...the 12 are super comfy but they do have an elasticated half waist which means they’ll end up being too big as soon as I lose 1/2 stone and the 10 can stretch a little till I do Wink

SoyYo · 14/04/2019 12:12

The culottes are fab btw!

Ninkaninus · 14/04/2019 12:24

Thanks for your help!

I’ve resisted these threads for so long because I really can’t afford to start a Love affair with Hush... but well, there’s a sale on and I do need some summer clothes. Wink

Can vouch for the low carb bootcamp. Very quick weightloss.

Ninkaninus · 14/04/2019 12:51

But the weight loss is almost incidental. The health benefits are so great. The talk is very much based on letting go of guilt in relation to food - so no ‘syns’ or bingeing on crap one day and then mitigating it with deprivation etc etc.

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 13:11

Well will read back and refer to all those knowledgeable about diet. However feeling tired and a bit pleased. I completed 22km on my excerices bike in about 70 minutes. Its the first time I have done it for that long but I need too, to go on my trip a week on Tuesday - eek!

Laska2Meryls · 14/04/2019 13:39

Our cherries has done so brilliantly on Lowcarb Bootcamp, and I did well on it last year, but found that as soon as I ate any carbs, then weight goes straight back back on , ( well it did on me, seriously sometimes 5 or 6 lbs after only one 'bad' meal! ). Its all to to with water retention and getting out of fat burning . It was disheartening quite honestly, not to be even able to have the very occasional noodle dish or potato.. (I know you can make LC alternatives and tried them , but again sometimes only a bowl of proper Singapore rice noodles will do ! )

I think the Blood sugar diet combined with intermittent fasting is just more sustainable and forgiving , tbh

Ninkaninus · 14/04/2019 13:44

Yes absolutely I think it really depends on the individual, I think it works for certain personalities and not so well for others, and also depends on whether you’re a moderator or an abstainer. But for kickstarting a complete change of mindset in relation to fats and ‘healthy’ foods, low carbing is great, and you get the thrill of actually seeing good progress quickly. But I fall off the wagon fairly often, because I am a huge carb fiend. I’m always going to love a good piece of crusty bread with a hunk of cheese and a big glass of wine, and I definitely don’t do ‘just one’ of anything that I love.

I agree, cherries is a definite success story and a big inspiration.

Laska2Meryls · 14/04/2019 13:47

Well done never you will ace it I am sure. Once you get out there , theres other things to see , and you dont really notice the distance once you get into the cycling rhythm..

I did another circuit down the river on the old train track and back (about 8 miles this time) .. and came round the long way back so even did a hill ! (smile)..

Legs do feel a bit jelly-like now though.. ..

Oh these Moritz.. DH didn't fall about laughing, but I just cant make up my mind... I really like them, but I also , think I should keep the smaller ones rather than the ones that fit me now.. but then I want to wear them now.. .. Dither Dither,

Soy sorry to hear about DS still, As his mum of course you are concerned and want to support him, you must try and make sure you take some time for your own mental health though..

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 13:52

Well its the most i have done. I am with a bunch of 10 year olds and its a flat track along a canal so who hard can it get?
Anway, well done you! I wish i had a real bike. I have contemplated getting one but my dh wont come out with me so i would have to go myself or take my dd. We will see.

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 13:54

I am interested in the blood sugar diet. Can you tell me more about it @laska?

Ninkaninus · 14/04/2019 13:58

I’m too greedy for fasting Grin but I know it works really well for a lot of other people.

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 14:06

I do the 5:2. Lost lots of weight but it creeped back on when i became lazy!! But back on it now. Although i find it incredibly hard over the holidays but back to work tomorrow so my fast day tomorrow will commence!

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 14:08

Still, surely it must come off when exercising too? I hate the bloody menopause!

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 14:09

Well @laska, can you fasten them? If so, keep the 10's

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 14:13

Whats the blood sugar diet book you have @Laska? I have looked back. Can you link again?

Laska2Meryls · 14/04/2019 14:17

BSD website here Never, Its Michael Mosely again . He now has a new version combining it with intermittent fasting, but I always did that anyway .
So you eat 800 cals daily for 8 weeks and its lowish carb..you an have beans for example.

When I did it I lost 24lbs in the 8 weeks .. But I used to do 800 cals 3days then throw in a couple of 500cal fasting days in midweek and eat more at the weekends , I did Mon fasting , Tues weds 800, Thurs fasting , Fri 800, and weekends pretty much what I liked but not going mad.. .. It worked fine, (and that's just what he is saying in his new diet version which is pretty much the same ..

He has a BSD book but as you've done 5:2 you'll know a lot of it already..
the recipe book is good though

Laska2Meryls · 14/04/2019 14:18

its this book Never

Laska2Meryls · 14/04/2019 14:20

.. I cant quite fasten them yet, Never!! I really think I'm going to keep both.. I can always ebay one (hopefully the larger) pair..

neveradullmoment99 · 14/04/2019 15:30

Thanks. I have downloaded a sample of the recipe book to my kindle. So will have a little read :)
