Zara always looks so comfortable in her own skin. She would be a fun person to be around.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/03/2019 10:02

That's a nice jolly for Charles and Camilla!

I've seen people near me pushing Balmorals but it always looks so ridiculous when they try to get them on a bus or into a busy cafe. They're not exactly practical if you live in a busy city.

So jealous of Charles & Camilla! What I'd give to go to the Caribbean at the moment - escaping the crappy weather!

Daisypie I've always thought that about Zara. Peter and Autumn seem lovely and down to earth as well. Peter's smile makes me smile iykwim? I've also started thinking the same about Eugenie. I'd never really known anything about her and she seemed absolutely lovely at her wedding.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/03/2019 10:47

C&C are also going on to Cuba.
What an incredible trip. Once in a lifetime for most people, if at all.
Just work for them!

ElspethFlashman · 16/03/2019 10:50

Autumn was wearing leather leggings! And the coat was navy velvet. Lovely outfit, though a bit dubious for velvet in this blustery wet weather. Perhaps it was balmy and dry there? It's utterly shit here!

Quick question, what does Autumn do? Is she a SAHM? I'm presuming she has a lot of help, Nannies etc as her family is in Canada. Perhaps she has some other venture?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/03/2019 10:51

I think the descendants of the royal princesses have all turned out very well. Margaret's children and Anne's children.
And for all her flaws, Fergie has produced nice girls.
They all have the privilege of being part of the RF but not the scrutiny.
I bet Lady Louise and Viscount Severn are lovely too.
Harry and Meghan are lucky, that if they choose to, they can raise their child away from the spotlight that has been shone on George and Charlotte. If they are sensible, they will keep them as Lord and Lady and not hrh prince/ss when Charles accedes the throne.

SupermarketSweeper · 16/03/2019 10:57

Lady Louise seems an absolute cracker at the carriage driving events she goes to - Sophie seems to genuinely share some of the queen's great interests and it's lovely that she's getting the grandchildren involved and carrying on traditions.

The DM article today asking whether Kate has a "local rival" seems to be a not very coded message. I@ve heard separately about RC's close friendship with William - apparently a bit of an open secret

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/03/2019 11:00

Who is RC?

SupermarketSweeper · 16/03/2019 11:02

Rose Cholmondley (tall, extremely thin, long dark hair. Remind you of anyone?)

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/03/2019 11:06

article here about RC

If William had some extra curricular, I would be most disappointed; he lived through what his mother went through.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/03/2019 11:12

I wouldn’t think William would do a thing like that. He’s seen the effects of his parents marriage.

Buddywoo · 16/03/2019 11:14

Years ago I was with a group of friends having a girly meal out in a pub in Minchinhampton. Zara and Peter Phillips joined us for a bit and told us some funny and quite dirty jokes. They were good fun and not in the least stuck up.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 16/03/2019 11:14

Yes and he's done the maximum to protect his children.
Why would he want to expose them to divorce, or expect Kate to carry on like Queen Alexandra

itswinetime · 16/03/2019 11:16

I don't see Kate putting up with it either! She seems strong she has a good amount of family support around her and times have changed I don't see her sitting around planning who can through the best dinner party while William is off with another women!

It's a typical dailymail article full of shit it doesn't even really tell you anything about the supposed rivalry!

SevenSeasofRye · 16/03/2019 11:21

It’s just the usual DM bullshit.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/03/2019 11:24

The DM loves their codes articles, they did the same about Jecca Craig's baby. Though Jecca and Kate look very alike so William clearly has a type!

I'm looking forward to seeing what Camilla wears on the tour, she usually gets it right so I'm hopeful for some fabulous outfits. I love Camilla, she's on my fantasy dinner party guest list!

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/03/2019 11:45

I bet she'd soon be on the sherry and regaling the table with filthy jokes!

OP posts:
EstrellaDamn · 16/03/2019 12:22

You really don't think Kate would put up with it? She's toed the line in every single regard since joining the RF; I can't see her divorcing the would-be King for almost any reason.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/03/2019 12:32

I'm inclined to agree @EstrellaDamn

OP posts:
itswinetime · 16/03/2019 12:38

Following the rules is one thing. Living with someone and raising children them while they are conducting supposedly open affairs with your mutual 'friends'. Is different! Kate comes from a strong family unit she has good support. She may not shame him publicly and go for irreconcilable differences or something but I don't think she would just sit back and put up with it!

Plus Divorce isn't as big an issue any more 3 of the queens children are divorced and the next king is an remarried to another divorcee who he had a long running affair with! Things have come a long way since the split of Diana and Charles!

EstrellaDamn · 16/03/2019 12:50

I don't believe she'd do it. Wherever she got her 'spine of steel' rep from doesn't really sit with me. I think she's basically malleable and happy to do as she's told for whatever reason - William, lack of imagination, marrying up - whatever it is.

Feel like I'm writing an Austen novel! Grin

ElspethFlashman · 16/03/2019 12:58

Of course she wouldn't do anything. Seriously? They would just do an Anne/Tim Lawrence. Her at Amner, him at KP. Lots of frozen rictus smiling in front of the cameras. Anne and TL attend things together all the time, he joins everyone at Sandringham at Christmas. If the worst happened to W+K, outwardly absolutely nothing would or could be seen to change.

That said, I think it's HIGHLY unlikely.

Horsemad · 16/03/2019 13:18

I doubt she'd do anything either. I think she'd have more influence over the children as a married, rather than divorced mother and so for that reason would stay.

SupermarketSweeper · 16/03/2019 13:27

She wouldn’t do a thing and her strong family support network would advise her not to. She went into this as a mature woman not an inexperienced teenager and in the full knowledge that princes of wales have quite the tradition of running mistresses. It’s actually part of her impeccable toeing of the line, quite possibly because she’s secure enough in her own position
