Thanks Cherries... I am going to wear them today and turning up was my initial plan so I see want length I wanted. If they stay in place that's perfect!

Hadn't thought about the different shoes scenario.

dontcallmelen · 09/03/2019 10:07

Good call cherries never thought of that😳 I’m so used to stuff being to long, I’m on fly dry cleaners Xmas card list.

dontcallmelen · 09/03/2019 10:08

my

neveradullmoment99 · 09/03/2019 10:11

@cherries, thats what i do. It never budges.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/03/2019 10:13

There was someone on ebay that cut theirs. I think its brave at the price. I know they are raw edged but the side seam coming apart would worry me.

neveradullmoment99 · 09/03/2019 10:15

Also, say something happens like a stitch goes round the waist. Maybe harder to return as faulty if youve cut them? It shouldnt make any difference though.

BobbilyBoo · 09/03/2019 10:39

I did notice there is some stitching on the side seams which was one of the reason I hesitated.... I am normally a bit more gung ho Blush

I've just tried them with my trainers, which I will wear to the hairdressers, and my boots which I want to wear out tonight and being able to alter the length in genius!

Good advice as always!!

SoyYo · 09/03/2019 10:42

Morning! @Bobbi yes I’m short and they’re fine if you do what cherries and never recommend. They don’t budge at all.

Thank you for all the lovely curl comments again. I truly appreciate as still having a wobble at how short it is but it’s only hair and it’ll grow and DH thinks the grow out tricolour stage looks a bit strange (blokes eh) and again mentioned it this am...I may just buy some semi perm colour that washes out without roots till my transition stage is over. But anyway enough about that!
@laska I know how you’ve struggled with your hair pulling and I love your pixie pink cut, you are a brave lady!

@justi what a wonderful thing to do for your friend! Women indeed are amazing.

@ella hope the road ahead is easier now. You’re young and it’s a good job it’s been done now so you can look forward to a healthy middle age.

@melen your words on parents gone but always present, no matter how long ago they left, made me nod head in agreement. Hope your DS is doing better with his skin btw...

@not I’ll be working part of the weekend too as I’m off to Paris at the crack of dawn Monday morning and with day off yesterday no time to complete all I had to do. At least weather is a bit nasty so that helps with the task.

I’ve read through all the supportive messages you’ve sent to each other and I’m bowled over by the kindness on this thread.

Wishing you all a great weekend

dontcallmelen · 09/03/2019 11:11

Soy your hair is beautiful, yy takes time to get used to it being shorter don’t work to hard.
Just again yy women being supportive of one another & so very sorry that you had such difficulties with your parents, my heart goes out to you💐
I had the maddest dream last night, I dreamt I was with Harry & Meaghan & she went into labour & I delivered the baby, which was a girl & weighed 6ilb 8oz & then was chased around London by the paparazzi 😂

neveradullmoment99 · 09/03/2019 11:53

Thats what i do soyo
I use a semi now until im ready to brave the grey! It covers it pretty well.

GinandGingerBeer · 09/03/2019 17:47

Hello everyone, just catching up with the new thread
Wow @ilovecherries what a difference Shock
The journey to cornwall brings back many memories and I wonder what we were thinking sometimes! We used to take the kids camping when they were little, so we'd drive all the way from Yorkshire then have to erect a family sized tent. Madness!
We used to set off at 4am with the kids still sleeping wearing their pjs and one year I forgot their shoes Grin had to carry them in to the service station then in to st ives to buy some.

twosoups1972 · 10/03/2019 10:52

Hi gin Smile Wow, Yorkshire to Cornwall, that really is a hell of a journey! Bet the kids loved being carried to buy new shoes!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. Dh and I went to dd2's school supper quiz last night - we came third which isn't too bad.

cherries hope you are ok and the recovery is continuing to go well.

ella hope you are feeling ok today.

justilou1 · 10/03/2019 10:55

Just wishing everyone a happy Sunday. I'm due for a massive week of assignments and first aid course (zzzzzz) and kids extra-curriculars. I'm sure I'll pop in while procrastinating, but in case I'm extra-good, have a lovely week! I'm off to bed now, because I have to get up in about five minutes to start my week.

Ellapaella · 10/03/2019 11:08

@twosoups1972 lol I'm currently getting myself very stressed and irate over a thread on AIBU! Must step away from mumsnet. Happy Sunday everyone 👋

GinandGingerBeer · 10/03/2019 11:30

Happy Sunday! Snow here this morning!

Ellapaella · 10/03/2019 11:41

Ooh where are you @GinandGingerBeer? Dull, grey and freezing cold here in Newcastle but no snow

OP posts:
Laska2Meryls · 10/03/2019 12:43

really bright and sunny here at the mo ( but also every so often heavy downpours!) ,.. also really windy, boats cancelled.. (Its ok im not going anywhere , but DH was supposed to be going back for work tomorrow..)

Laska2Meryls · 10/03/2019 12:44

step away fron AIBU Ella you now what its like!.. (goes off to see what the fuss is about .. Wink)

FuzzyPuffling · 10/03/2019 13:03

Very windy here too, but sunny which is cheering.
I have started making myself a sleeveless blouse for the summer...start worrying Hush!

GinandGingerBeer · 10/03/2019 13:20

I'm in south York's Ella, snow has cleared but sleeting on and off. I want the heatwave back Sad

Ellapaella · 10/03/2019 13:23

@Laska2Meryls it's the thread about the parent who wanted to press charges against a parent who turned up at her child's school screaming and shouting and banging on doors and basically terrifying the kids.
Some of the posters on there having a go at the Op would literally argue black is white. I'm so glad I don't know anyone like this in real life.. people who just want to pick points over and over again to prove they're right. Just absolutely draining, such hard work!
Anyway I'll step away from it now and hide the thread..Grin

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 10/03/2019 13:25

@GinandGingerBeer I'm with you on the heatwave. I'm having a pyjama day but it's just so cold 🥶

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 10/03/2019 13:25

@FuzzyPuffling you make your own clothes? I'd love to be able to do that.

OP posts:
dontcallmelen · 10/03/2019 13:42

Ella step away, I get so cross sometimes & I can literally feel my blood pressure rising, especially with the posters who as you say pick points over n over☹️ & enjoy being downright horrible.
Very windy here, just lost a fence panel but it’s not that cold just horrible to be out in.
Oooh Fuzzy sounds a lovely you will of course have to show us the new creation.

FuzzyPuffling · 10/03/2019 16:02

I've got as far as sewing it together and attaching the collar but am tired now and likely to make errors so have stopped until tomorrow. I suppose, when it is done, I could photograph it on "Mrs Woman", my dressmakers mannequin.
