Just catching up on you all...what exciting lives you lead!

Happy Anniversary to the Melens.

SoYo good luck with the job interview.

Waves to everyone else.

Off to bed with me now...the fatigue is getting the better of me!

SoyYo · 17/03/2019 21:08

Honestly? Even May will not allow a “crash out” she’ll probably force her shite deal through next week (third time round Angry) but otherwise she’ll be forced to go to the EU cap in hand and ask for an extension which she will get.
I read in today’s ST the chemicals needed for drinking water (some of them) cannot be stored and come to the water companies from the Eu it would be a humanitarian disaster if after a week of crashing out GB is out of drinking water (never mind empty supermarket shelves)...so no one will have that on their watch no matter how incompetent or deluded/power crazy they are...

Laska2Meryls · 17/03/2019 21:22

Shit ..... time to sink that borehole in the back garden then soy (we could being on clay/chalk..) .

I'm more worried about the coffee running out TBH (if I am going to stockpile it will be that ) .. I can live without Wine (although I dont want to) , But Coffee? I once did a 5 day 'live on £1 a day' for charity and by day 3 my workmates were begging me to never do it again and suggested they would give the charity more If I started drinking coffee and tea , I was so utterly unbearable!

Laska2Meryls · 17/03/2019 21:31

Len Yes , once you get up on the top of the Downs you can see from Purbeck/Swanage/ Poole harbour one way , right over to Portsmouth the other , then pretty much half way to France.

We are lucky, but then we dont have much in the way of shops, hospitals (1 small one) , motorways ( none at all ),and you have to get a boat to go anywhere .... (I love it!) .

We do have lots of lovely local grown, fished and reared food though.. but a lot of our water currently comes from the mainland (although it doesnt need to in emergency ..)

Laska2Meryls · 17/03/2019 22:12

Hooray!! my ebay bid came through, so I now have replaced my Hush grey/ pink Brigitte jumper which I absolutely loved and had badly snagged (I reckoned that was allowed and didnt pay too much for it ) .. Hoping that the new one will be ok ..

SoyYo · 17/03/2019 22:29

Yeay laska! Well done on getting the eBay Brigitte jumper!
IOW is truly beautiful.
I’m also a nightmare without coffee ☕️ need 3 cups a day to function.
Good night.

justilou1 · 18/03/2019 05:43

YYY to coffee!!! (I get migraines when I go cold turkey!) I would hook up to a caffeine drip for the school run if I could.
Glad you replaced your jumper, @Laska! I have a serious knitwear obsession and have put myself on a no-buy for the rest of the year. (Despite eyeballing an oatmeal jumper that I’m fairly certain would make my collection complete! Sigh!!!)

ilovecherries · 18/03/2019 09:44

Wearing my dungarees today. Chest fully contained behind the bib :).

ilovecherries · 18/03/2019 09:49

Oh - and my dd just ordered me a Syled by Susie style analysis as an early mother’s day present. (We are both in the SBS group). If I send my photos today, should get the analysis for mother’s day. She says it’s to celebrate my new silhouette! Will be interesting to see the feedback. I hated HoC, total waste of money, but Susie seems a lot more stylish in her suggestions, and gets a lot of praise in the group.

Ellapaella · 18/03/2019 09:59

@ilovecherries I am in that group too.. it's fab. Was thinking of getting my analysis done as well. Let me know what you think when yours arruves

Hello everyone still on a shopping ban over here but just popping in to say hi. DH has a brexit cupboard on the go but don't think he has considered water.

gubbsywubbsy · 18/03/2019 15:03

@Ellapaella I have those Topshop sandals from last year .. great they are doing them again.. I was hoping they would make a light tan pair but not yet ..
has anyone seen some nice tan sandals .. I don't like saltwater type because they make me feel frumpy😬...

FuzzyPuffling · 18/03/2019 15:59

I had my colours done (by an independent) and fortunately it sort of confirmed what I already knew. It was really helpful when shopping to have the summary in my head "No sludge, no orange no brown, no coral, no washy pastels..." And good to know that blue, grey and black are my friends (as that is what my 90% of my wardrobe consists of!)

FuzzyPuffling · 18/03/2019 16:01

My DH has a "Brexit room", never mind cupboard, but so far I have vetoed water, as bottled water is not only full of bacteria but is ecologically very unsound.

SoyYo · 18/03/2019 17:12

On Brexshite prep yes I never heard of the drinking water complications till I read yesterday’s ST...in any case just heard Bercow told May she can’t have a third vote so the plot thickens...
To distract you from impending catastrophe here’s a photo of my Hush parcel that arrived today and me wearing: Brigitte jumper love the colour not so sure the shape loves me though it’s S but still looks tooo roomy Hmm I don’t understand! With the starry leggings which I love and keeping (I took a very bad close up pic sitting down which makes my thighs look huge but never mind, really nice leggings 👍)

I also got the black bargainous satin asymmetric skirt for £18 (still plenty of sizes in the sale section) I added to my basket fully expecting to return but I like it 👍 @never has it already and for the £ it’s good value and very “now”
The tailored black culottes are a bit snug in a 12 so I may have to size up to a 14. I know I’m porky but the skirt in the 12 fits fine. All my other Hush trousers in 12 still fit and the Brigitte jumper in S is too big when my biggest part is my chest so all I can say is that Hush is back to inconsistent sizing Confused

SoyYo · 18/03/2019 17:21

I haven’t seen @not post in a while. Hope you’re well Hush friend 👋👋

SoyYo · 18/03/2019 17:23

I’ve never had my colours done but suspect with my warm colouring I’m an Autumn.
Will also be interested in your feedback @cherries. What a lovely thing for DD to do! ❤️

SoyYo · 18/03/2019 17:27

The leggings are in M btw I could wear S as they’re not tight at all in M but sticking with it as the legs are fine and the M is very very comfy.
On me at 5’3” only slightly cropped if you’re taller they’ll be a better cropped length as in the model pic.
Are they worth £28? Not sure they’re not super thick rather summer weight cotton but I like the starry print and the key reason for keeping. I’ll wear lots.

SoyYo · 18/03/2019 17:44

In fact looking at my pic with Brigitte jumper I’m not even sure the XS would be better, i much prefer the Paloma shape from AW which in S is very flattering if fluid and loose. This is really like the proverbial squirrel about to take off from a tree, makes me look bigger than I am and I’m not in denial I know I need to lose a few pounds but very unflattering shape on me Sad

dontcallmelen · 18/03/2019 17:49

Aww Soy apart from 😂 at the squirrel taking off, I think it’s the sleeves, that shape is really really difficult to wear especially for us shorties, the leggings are good on you.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/03/2019 17:51

The asymmetric skirt is a great bargain. its a bit static but you can put a couple of safety pins on the inside. Its meant to help.
Love the outfit on you. I know what you mean about the shape but it looks fab with the leggings. I adore the colour.

dontcallmelen · 18/03/2019 17:53

I have never had my colours done either, I’m the opposite of colouring to you, I’m blonde very fair skinned & blue eyes I’m drawn to paler colours I can’t wear all black have to have a paler colour with it or look like someone who has been dug up.

neveradullmoment99 · 18/03/2019 17:55

Ive always wanted to be analysed. It was a lovely thing for your dd to do.

FuzzyPuffling · 18/03/2019 18:06

SoYo I LOVE those starry leggings. Very envious of those. You look fab.

Melen "Someone who has been dug up*!! Ha ha. What a haunting phrase (see what I did there?)

I am just deeply grateful for being ok to wear black. I look great at funerals.
