Kate's hair is lovely.

SwimmingInTheDeepBlueSea · 11/03/2019 19:30

Theresa May must be thinking "WTAF I have a small matter of Brexit to sort people. Why am I dollying about in church?!"

Thinking about it, political beliefs a side, I think you've got to admire her. Not only was she was brave enough to take on being pm and the task of negotiating Brexit (where let's face it, most of the country are going to be unhappy with the outcome regardless), but she does it with some brave style choices too! I think she's a pretty amazing woman.

user1457017537 · 11/03/2019 19:34

I also think MM’s hat makes her look like a nurse. I have just read that her outfits today cost in the region of £18k for one day’s engagement. I think this is taking the piss personally. There is no way Harry is paying as he isn’t in paid employment and his inheritance would not cover circa a million pound per year for her clothes alone. She is also not wealthy enough in her own right for this level of spending, unless she is doing side deals or accepting items, which we should be informed of if she is.

TSSDNCOP · 11/03/2019 19:35

Swimming I agree about the Brexit bit, but I think today is playing fast and loose with “brave style choices”.

SwimmingInTheDeepBlueSea · 11/03/2019 19:35

I don't think Camilla's outfit really counts as the same colour as the queen's - I know they are both purple but the queen's is a fairly light and, as usual, very bright shade, whereas Camilla's is a very deep, dark purple.

certainlymerry · 11/03/2019 19:52

Camilla often seems to wear the same colour as the Queen. I thought Kate and William looked like they had been up all night. Kate looked totally exhausted. I liked the green coat M wore, but the dress looked wrong. The neckline looked odd and the dress just didn't sit well on her.

guffaux · 11/03/2019 19:58

DoS outfit a miss for me-the hat has no style, dress badly fitted, hanging below the coat hemline looks wrong to me, and am a bit Hmm at the print- an american woman of colour in chains? really? (maybe I'm influenced by the concept of literal dressing )

SlipperOrchid · 11/03/2019 20:04

Lots of clothes to admire today. I liked Meghan’s pale boat and loved her dress underneath it. Not a big fan of the hat. I really liked the green outfit though thought with the black embroidery it was quite fussy for her, she usually favours very simple designs.

Kate’s red coat and dress were a beautiful cut and colour. While I can appreciate the design of the cost, the shape, the colour, the fabric, I did not actually like it. It is like admiring somebody’s uniform because it is well made but not liking it as a piece of clothing in its own right. Not sure if that makes sense?

beanaseireann · 11/03/2019 20:14

Teresa May has good legs. It must be so difficult for her at the moment.
Please don't blame me. I don't live in the UK and really don't know much about her politics/ policies.
She doesn't come across as a scheming, ambitious, knife in my opponents back politician, but do they exist - the non scheming ones I mean ?

Notmyrealname855 · 11/03/2019 20:35

Admire TM, though I don’t share her political stance, and getting a bit bored of the expense of ALL their clothes - suits, dresses, bags, the lot - and the impact is more when you see them altogether. They’re a bloody expensive group to clothe Angry

user1457017537 · 11/03/2019 20:39

I think Theresa May has appalling dress sense and looks like Aunt Sally and not a Prime Minister. Sorry not sorry!

rosewater20 · 11/03/2019 20:43

MM is so insanely beautiful. I have similar colouring to her and wish I knew what makeup and skincare products she uses. I love the cut of the Erdem but would have liked it better without the applique. Love her shoes.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/03/2019 20:52

Camilla at a reception this evening.
Love the stole.
Those amethyst earrings are phenomenal

Didn't like her suit today. It was too fussy with the little bows and the colour was too intense for her. It felt like the outfit wore her.
She looks better in muted shades.
She needs to leave the brights to HM.

Does anybody know what lipstick types MM wears - looking for a neutral/old rose shade.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/03/2019 20:55

Air Hostess
Nurse

rosewater20 · 11/03/2019 20:59

MM would have been better off wearing the green outfit to both events. If she has spent £19,000 on clothing for just today, then I am appalled. There was no need for her to wear two expensive outfits that we probably won't see again (unless she has another baby).

I don't mind DOC outfit, and I like that it is a rewear. Not terribly keen on the shoes and handbag though.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/03/2019 21:01

It looks like a Bobbi Brown type shade.
She does lots of pinky neutrals

peridito · 11/03/2019 21:02

I wonder if TM had to grab( or get someone else to grab for her ) something to throw over her work clothes ??

I hate her politics but usually admire her outfits .

This one looks odd ,makes me think someone chose it for her .

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 11/03/2019 21:10

I suspect Fashion is a bit of light relief for Theresa May.
She probably chose it herself but could well be distracted.
I may not agree with her politics. bu I respect her work ethic.
She jumped on a plane this evening to negotiate and has a hell of a day tomorrow. She did ok today fashion wise whist running the country.

Harebellsies · 11/03/2019 21:10

Actually really like TMays coat - has an eggy shape and baroque texture, she could wear the coat in a Rembrandtesque painting entitled “the last days”. i don’t like the accessories though - they look like spitting image props.

Harebellsies · 11/03/2019 21:13

curly agree that TM made a huge effort for the country, considering that she must be perpetually exhausted. And fashion really far from her mind at the moment.
I think someone thoughtfully curated her outfit for her.

user1457017537 · 11/03/2019 21:17

Harebellsies have a look at Chanel lipstick in Mademoiselle or Boy. Some lovely natural pink shades. I believe Bourgois are, or were owned m, by the same company that make for Chanel so have a look at their pinks as well.

Notmyrealname855 · 11/03/2019 21:18

Lol at “airhostess / nurse”, they also somehow look a bit Cluedo :)

It’s all too expensive! At least TM was elected Hmm Like their make/up and would also guess Bobbi Brown

SenecaFalls · 11/03/2019 21:27

Of Meghan had worn the same ensemble to both events no doubt she would have been criticized for not taking the Commonwealth service seriously enough to change into something more special for it. I liked both outfits, except for the nurse hat. Also I like Kate in red but too many buttons are a bit distracting.

rosewater20 · 11/03/2019 21:31

@SenecaFalls, I disagree. I think she would have been seen as being normal and probably called "frugal" by the DM. She could have added a really nice hat to change the green outfit up a bit. I am confused though as to why she went from an outfit that fits well to one that looks too tight.
