Sorry, just not my day and I dropped the ball again!

SophIe isn’t aging well. I agree with pp who say a different hairstyle would take years off her,

She is still one of my favourite royals. She is very unassuming and works hard without needing a fanfare.

cherrylo86 · 08/03/2019 13:55

Meghan looks great today. Nice clean lines. Hair looks lovely like that too, not as severe as the scraped of her face bun she sometimes favours which I think looks too harsh, although it does showcase her stunning face.

Loved Max in her sequins from earlier in the thread!

EstrellaDamn · 08/03/2019 14:05

Yes, Sophie's swept-back thing is a bit Princess Anne. She could look waaaaay younger (not that looking young is everything but nobody wants to look like they take hair tips from a 68 year old do they?)

Rhubarbisevil · 08/03/2019 14:15

Test

Rhubarbisevil · 08/03/2019 14:17

My posts have been disappearing.

Anyway, my hairdresser put up my hair today AKA and I look ten years older and more formidable. Sophie, you’d look SO MUCH younger with your hair down! Or maybe she doesn’t want people to think she’s trying to compete with Kate and Meghan.

SenecaFalls · 08/03/2019 14:28

Okay, y'all. Let's step away from the ageism, shall we?

SwimmingInTheDeepBlueSea · 08/03/2019 14:37

Megan definitely seems to have found a way to blend her great pre-royal and pre-pregnancy style into her royal style now. She looks fab again. I think she just needed some time to figure it out.

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/03/2019 14:38

I love Sophie, committed and hardworking and travels far more than I would want too. She always looks engaged and interested in everyone she meets.

Rhubarbisevil · 08/03/2019 14:39

I’m the same age as Sophie so I’m not being ageist!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/03/2019 14:40

Meghan's blazer today was McQueen and her bag Stella McCartney, so all British from her today!

Again with the ageism comments. Ok, let's all pretend that everyone in the public eye is 26. And that they'd all be thrilled to look 74.

Paradyning · 08/03/2019 14:54

Meghan's bump must be teeny tiny in real life if she can still fit into civvies.
There's no way I could wear a non maternity dress at present and I'm a few weeks behind her.

Thedarklady · 08/03/2019 15:01

Meghan and Kate both look great pregnant and can still pull off the high heels.
We did see Kate in some shorter things while she was pregnant and maybe there would have been more if she hadn't been ill.

I wonder of she's found a SHD (shit hot dressmaker) Paradying? If so, maybe she's getting off the peg stuff in a big size and having it tailored to accomodate the bump. Could you do that, I wonder? I don't know a lot about clothes making.

BlingLoving · 08/03/2019 15:29

I think she looks fabulous today. But the dress is too short for when she's sitting on a panel like that (as a side bar, I hear from a friend in tech, that the issue of panels and the way they're designed not being very female friendly in terms of sitting/clothing etc is something some of the smarter events organisers are working on these days... at the very least apparently, it's now considered, within the top guys who are on their game, appropriate to flag to a woman in advance exactly what the set up will be).

LaurenOrdering · 08/03/2019 15:53

We said threads ago that Meghan would suit an early 60's/Mad Men/Jacqueline Kennedy vibe. It really does & she looks gorgeous today. I love her dress.
I wonder if she's using volumising powder & slight back combing to gain the height in her hair?
Anyway I reckon Meghan has been introduced to the delights of MN.
Wear the MN scarf (leopard) or do something more subtle like put your handbag down on surface, diagonally in front of something (a la divider on a supermarket shopping conveyor belt Grin

user1457017537 · 08/03/2019 15:58

Was I the only one waiting to see if Meghan had a Beyoncé moment when she sat down.

certainlymerry · 08/03/2019 16:00

I like her outfit, though think it is too short to be sitting on a panel, especially bare legged. The bump clutching and attention seeking is just setting my teeth on edge too.

Wetdogloveshubert · 08/03/2019 16:04

Meghan looks gorgeous in today's outfit! It would be great if she and Kate were sharing a SHD and sharing the cost of alterations.

Bling your comment on panels strikes a real chord. There's definitely a need for small changes to make conferencing and networking more friendly and less exclusive.

Happy International Women's Day!

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/03/2019 16:09

I don't think she's seeking attention by touching her bump. It's quite clear in some of the footage that she does it when people ask her about the baby, or maybe it kicked and she got startled. In the grand scheme of things, like Kate's weight, it's not something I can get too het up about.

I participate in panel discussions fairly often in my work and I always wear trousers because you never know. Even then I prefer to be behind a table. I have a short torso and really long legs, and I can never figure out where to put them. Just one more thing that women have to worry about.

Happy International Women's Day!

Yes to this!

Thedarklady · 08/03/2019 16:11

The dress was fine when standing up. Her legs are fanstastic. Sitting could have been rectified if she wasn't sitting so strangely! I think she should have worn tights though.

Outfit details according to the newspapers are:
£185 Reiss dress
£1,245 Alexander McQueen blazer
£540 Stella McCartney bag
£495 Manolo Blahnik 105 BB pumps

Thedarklady · 08/03/2019 16:13

Spelling fantastic

QueenOfTheAndals · 08/03/2019 16:13

The blazer is one she's worn a few times before. And maybe she doesn't like tights - I dislike them at the best of times, couldn't bear them at all when I was pregnant!

EstrellaDamn · 08/03/2019 16:21

I don't know why anyone would wear a short skirt or dress to a panel event. It's like female presenters sitting on a low couch; I really don't need a shot of their pants while I eat my breakfast. But they were them so often I assume it's set by the producers. Angry

Sure, the staging could be different for women. Or they could just wear something appropriate to how they know they'll be situated.
