Phillips Lumea has changed my life!

Just that, really.

Been using it since Xmas, every 10-14 days. Haven't removed hair from legs, pits, bikini line or arms in 10 days now and there's practically no regrowth. This isn't a sales pitch btw, I just wish I hadn't spent the last 10 years wanting one but thinking they were too much money!

Prestige is ok amazon for "just" £325. Should I?! Seems soooo much!

Zeldaaa · 25/05/2019 17:44

Wondering the same. Boots and John Lewis have it on offer this price too. Does it go any lower ?

DropZoneOne · 25/05/2019 18:06

If you sign up on the Philips website, you get 15% off

onetwofive · 25/05/2019 19:13

On top of the amazon discount dropzone?

Zeldaaa · 25/05/2019 20:52

I couldn’t find the 15% off code for the Phillips site. I did find a 14% off code and it applied successfully. I’ve also gone via Quidco to get 7% cash back but not sure if that will get paid since I’ve applied an extra code.

DropZoneOne · 25/05/2019 21:36

No, on the Philips website which is same price as amazon
Clear your cookies, visit Philips and a popup asks if you want to sign up for 15% off, then you get an email with the discount (or if your impatient like me, sign up wait 15 minutes then do the chat facility and they'll generate you a code straightaway)
Or just use the 14% which i think was tradedoubler

The Philips lumea essential corded is the one I have. Works brilliantly. I didn't want to faff about charging it up and the cord doesn't get in the way. Can't remember how much I paid now but a lot less than the more expensive models and it does the same job. I'm just astounded that it actually works!!

PhilipMarlowe · 26/05/2019 17:33

@gotmychocolateimgood hope you don't mind me getting personal! Do you use the essential one on your bikini? Does it work? Does the essential model have different settings?
Thanks

gotmychocolateimgood · 26/05/2019 19:30

It has settings 1-5 and yes it works there ☺️

PhilipMarlowe · 26/05/2019 20:11

Great thanks! I'll order it tomorrow!

BringmeGin · 27/05/2019 18:55

Back with an update on the Syosin as promised, Sheep I will go check my instructions again but too late now lol!!! I've have to say, it is working!!! I've done 9 treatments over 7 ish weeks and haven't shaved for 9 days now, some regrowth but not much and what there is is patchy. I reckon another couple treatments and I'll only be doing it monthly for maintenance. I think the verdict is that IPL works, some models may be better / more powerful than others but my cheap one works and I'm happy 😁. Will get back to you Sheep with what my instructions say x

flobella · 27/05/2019 20:13

Does anyone know if there are any options yet for those of us with blonde hair?

PhilipMarlowe · 01/06/2019 17:17

I've just had my first attempt with the Lumea. I wish there was a way to track where you've been - I think I'm going to end up with stripy legs. Grin

Zeldaaa · 01/06/2019 18:00

I’m going to use it tonight. I read somewhere about using white kohl pencil to mark the lines.

tumpymummy · 01/06/2019 18:46

Placemarking as have considered this but always been too worried to use it on my face. Have tash (always bleached never removed) and side burns. I worry that people would notice I have suddenly removed the hair!

Howaboutthisone · 01/06/2019 23:19

This is something I've never considered before but am now!

CoolCarrie · 01/06/2019 23:45

PhillipMarlowe, I used an old brown eye pencil to mark the areas I treated and then used a damp face cloth to wipe the marks off.

Cassimin · 02/06/2019 00:09

Can two people use it?
Would definitely be worth buying if both me and my daughter would be able to use it.

lorribell · 02/06/2019 20:10

I am using the lumea head to toe after shaving and it's working well. However my chin area is just taking a little longer, does anyone was this are in between using the lumea.

The lumea says online it's ok to wax but online advice for these treatments says not to

MrsCatnip · 03/06/2019 20:54

What about moles? I am quite "speckled" in places - how would they affect the use of this product?

icannotremember · 03/06/2019 21:20

You need to cover the moles with white pencil. I skipped that the first time and it was painful!

gotmychocolateimgood · 03/06/2019 21:35

Re: waxing, I used an epilator last year when I first got my Lumea and it messed up the treatment for a while. Waxing would do the same as they both pull the heirs right out of the follicle. A bit of hair needs to be in the follicle to absorb the light which destroys the follicle. This time I'm shaving only and the results are much better. After 4 treatments every 2 weeks, I'm completely smooth for a week after zapping with the Lumea then there is very slow regrowth. I shave before zapping only so every 2 weeks. Can't wait to go on holiday and not shave at all!!!

Disneydarlings · 06/06/2019 16:13

Can you use this if you are a redhead?

tumpymummy · 06/06/2019 17:47

Ok, so I have obviously missed the boat with this this year. My skin is now tanned and some of the hairs bleached. I also epilate rather than shave. I will look at this again next winter then when I've gone back to white pastey skin with contrasting dark hair.

RumblyGrumbleNoise · 06/06/2019 18:25

I've had my lumea since January and had amazing results doing the suggested timings (once a fortnight then top ups) hair free on legs but my armpits... not so good. Slightly patchy and taking longer time to grow but I just don't get it?!? 4 weeks ago I decided to get extreme and do once a week and still the same. Shall I go really hard core and do daily? Or is that a bit nuts? Any advice anyone?
