Phillips Lumea has changed my life!

Just that, really.

Been using it since Xmas, every 10-14 days. Haven't removed hair from legs, pits, bikini line or arms in 10 days now and there's practically no regrowth. This isn't a sales pitch btw, I just wish I hadn't spent the last 10 years wanting one but thinking they were too much money!

Got a decent deal direct from philips.

Phillips Lumea has changed my life!

I've been watching this thread trying to weigh up whether to buy one, but there are so many different variations and prices.
Can any of you lovely lot just point me in the direction of the one with the fewest attachments (that I will lose within minutes and not use) for the best price please? I've tied myself up in knots trying not to procrastinate but then missing out on the Costco deal etc.
There's one on amazon that I've got in my basket, is this a good one?

Thank you

I've been using one since December and can't say I'm too impressed so far.
I'm still using it every two weeks like you do at the beginning as I've still got lots of hair on the areas I'm using it.
I got it primarily for facial hair and I've had best results here. I still have to pluck a few chin hairs but top lip is pretty good.
However, legs and underarm still have lots of hair growing through. It's sparse in some areas on my legs but I'm not yet seeing the result I'd like.
I've got brown hair and pale skin so I should be a perfect user.
Has anyone got good results after this much time?
Should I stick with it?

Fazackerley · 13/04/2019 09:15

I've done my bikini line and recklessly shaved about an inch off the top of my pubes Grin did it two weeks ago and just the faintest amount of stubble beginning to show.

beanaseireann · 13/04/2019 09:34

If you have pale hair and pale skin does the Lumea work ?

DropZoneOne · 13/04/2019 10:10

Plot the Prestige can be used corded or cordless, where the Advanced is corded

I'm procrastinating over versions too!

plotmissinginaction · 13/04/2019 10:15

Mmm not sure I care about the cord, I just want rid of the hair! It seems a big difference .My DH has said no to the fancy one already :( - it is a lot of money. Wondering if I can convince him on the cheaper one but only want it if it will get rid of my hair face!

sevenyears · 13/04/2019 10:15

I had a cordless one that needed charging. It did work but when I didn’t use it for a few months it died and it was just outside the warranty period. Apparently it’s a common problem.

golightlytoday · 13/04/2019 17:37

I have corded and it's great. Don't see cordless being a bonus and too much risk of it dying if not charged monthly or so.

Just about to do my second treatment on legs. I shaved them 2 weeks ago before first. And then again today and really wasn't much there already.

plotmissinginaction · 13/04/2019 18:17

So does anyone have that Costo one and if so is it ok? Surely the price difference isn't just the cord? Is it attachments? Or just an old model maybe. I really want one!!

PsGirl · 13/04/2019 19:53

@cakedup just seen your comment about the tria which is permanent hair removal. How come everyone isn't raving about this instead if that is the case? I'm tempted to get one if it is completely permanent.

Anyone else tried this?

golightlytoday · 13/04/2019 19:59

@plotmissinginaction yes I have that one. It's great!

The trimmer thing is also really handy.

The prestige model - the most expensive / newest one claims to be quicker / slightly more effective. And can be used corded or cordless.

That advanced model is corded.

cakedup · 14/04/2019 23:19

PsGirl I know, I wonder the same thing! I guess it's all about marketing. I've done it all - shaving, plucking, waxing, sugaring electrolysis and then moved on to laser when it was available. There are different types of lasers and I did a lot of research into which ones were the best. I learnt early on that IPL laser, although commonly used, was not permanent.

HappyKatieA · 15/04/2019 07:10

Wow, I'd never heard of the Tria, but now I'm thinking that might be the way to go... thank you.

Fazackerley · 15/04/2019 08:13

The tria isn't permanent!

whitehalleve · 15/04/2019 08:55

I have the tria. It meets the marketing definition of permanent but it's not truly permanent. Only electrolysis is. Plus the treatment area of the tria the size of a penny. It's so slow to treat an area.

I've just bought a lumea prestige instead.

shoelookout · 15/04/2019 10:49

Soooo is there NOTHING that will do pale skin with blonde hairs? I have a huge amount of blonde facial hair and it is noticeable!!! I have to wax pretty much by tache, chin, down my neck every two weeks (I only get away with that because it is blonde hair).

I'd give anything to get rid of it. Sad

beanaseireann · 15/04/2019 11:01

Shoelookout
I've asked too on this thread but nobody answered Sad

PsGirl · 15/04/2019 11:03

I'm so confused when one person says tria is the only permanent way and another says electrolysis! I've had the prestige since Christmas but it's obviously still not permanent

Fazackerley · 15/04/2019 12:26

Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal.

The lumea or tria will not work on blonde/white hair.

shoelookout · 15/04/2019 14:49

Will electrolysis work on blonde hair?? I've read differing things and an no getting muddled

Fazackerley · 15/04/2019 17:45

Electrolysis will work on any colour hair.

PsGirl · 15/04/2019 20:13

If it's permanent why hasn't it worked on a PP?

Fazackerley · 15/04/2019 22:25

What? electrolysis? You need to zap the hair when it is in a certain phase. So need to have several treatments. Eventually it will destroy the follicle = no hair.
