Aren't all Charlottes 'Lottie'?
The coat is ok minus the Cape (why?).As other commenters have said, it's very 'Call the Midwife' - a definate retro vibe. The colour would be best with fair hair. I prefer Kate with darker hair - isn't this the lightest she's had it?
Does anyone know where her shoes are from?

Terrible boring coat but I like the blue dress on its own.

Another who thinks Kate is too thin. I'm a marathon runner and I'm thin but I guarantee you I have a much higher BMI than her, she's gone to the point of unhealthy thin.

I know more than one Charlotte that never goes by Lotttie. Cute, though.

Also, I love capes but absolutely hate that cape-coat, not to mention the colour.

The blue coat is the same style as worn by Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson

I HATE the style of Kate's coat. Too fussy.
It's a nice colour but I'm not sure it suits her colouring.
Blue can be difficult to wear as one blue might suit you but slightly lighter or darker can drain you.

I've come to the conclusion that warm autumnal shades suit Kate the best, she looks great in olive green, rust, berry, teal.

I actually don't hate the coat (have a few capes myself) but the collar is a bit too big for me. Looks like the big pointy 70's collars. Also the colour makes it more than a bit reminiscent of the Beauxbaton uniform in HP.

I prefer this to the more pale blue she has worn but still not her best colour, the collar is a no from me but then I guess without it it's just another Kate coat like the 100s of others she has! At least when Meghan buys new things they are different Kate just buys pretty the same outfit in different colours it seems 😴😴😴

In Selfridges earlier & they had two of these. It is very pale, I’m sorry I didn’t feel it properly for scratchiness.

There are three Charlottes in my family, three different generations. All called Charlotte. No Lotties.

Kate definitely had a full slip underneath or a lining put in. You could clearly see the hem of it at the bottom and the whiteness of it at the bust. So that would mitigate scratchiness.

Was it not this you could see underneath?

That blue coat is so twee and horrible. C'mon Kate, dress like you're in the same century decade as the rest of us!

Sophie is out and about again today at opening a music room to help children recovering from brain injuries can't see much apart from the coat unfortunately!

Ironically I got married where those last photos were taken and my DAunt wore a pale blue cape dress. My teenage cousins were running around shouting "expelliarmus!" and "wingardium leviosa!" at her whilst she swatted them with her handbag. Maybe that's why I thought of the Beauxbaton uniform when I saw Kate earlier

That blue coat is a complete horror for me. Nothing about it is nice, and the colour does nothing for her.

Not keen on the coat. The dress is nice though, I've liked it every time she's worn it. She does look so natural and comfortable around little children - no awkwardness at all. And how she crouches in heels and lifted that little girl up (there's a video on Instagram) - very impressive balance!

Not keen on the coat at all, but I do like the blue on (different) blue. The coat is just......boring. Not one of her better looks.

I’m not a lover of the blue coat. And I don’t really understand why Kate has so many same-but-different things. If she wanted a coat in there sort of colour, she could have reworn this coat, which I think is much nicer.
