New thread for scented discussion, plus cats, teeth, and cats with problem teeth. Everyone welcome, we are as friendly as the title suggests!

Glad to hear that pots

SOTD L’Air de Rien. Happy IWD, lovelies!

chevvy how did you get on at the doctor? I am embarrassed to go back - last time I went in January with this stupid cold was the first time I had been in four years, other than a smear.

kalifornia your link doesn’t work for me - any chance you could re-post?

Hi Judy

Dr said ds has a "flu type virus" and it could be 4/5 days til he feels better. School are gonna love me!

He's still not eating much and his cough is awful.

I do feel for you Judy, you've been ill for so long! :(

I'm just waiting for it to get to me...😷

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 08/03/2019 20:23

Poor wee soul, chevvy, it is just rubbish. I think I keep getting new doses of it, my immune system must be wrecked. It goes round and round my students, there is never a time when we are all healthy. The rooms echo with coughs!

Thank you.

Ds2 caught it from ds1 who caught it from college where it has absolutely decimated the students and staff :(

The dr we saw earlier said the bugs over the last year are really bad.

Maybe you could try a tonic like minadex? Build yourself up a bit? It's so miserable feeling ill for so long.

I had a 9 week virus a couple of years ago and I thought that was bad!

CountFosco · 08/03/2019 20:57

they may help stop any colds from developing further into flu. recommended by my GP!

Your GP doesn't know much virology then. Colds and flu are different viruses. #grumpypoorlyscientist

67chevvyimpala · 08/03/2019 21:03

I'm a great believer in drugs :)

Lots of lovely pain relievers and anti pyretics and plenty of fluids.

I sometimes add in a berocca :)

67chevvyimpala · 08/03/2019 21:04

Oh not you too count! :(

We need a sick bay, STAT!

CountFosco · 08/03/2019 21:08

A hot toddy works as well Grin

67chevvyimpala · 08/03/2019 21:12

:)

Indeed!

Calmasasleepycat · 08/03/2019 21:13

I wore Tauer Au Coeur du Desert again yesterday. I have had several days’ wear out of one small sample, it goes on and on. We went to the Tate Modern yesterday (a bit of mind-stretching with some weird and wonderful artworks). One of the attendants was wearing some rather good perfume. I asked what it was - Avon Today! I thought of you 67, with your love for Avon. Do you like that one? I seem to have a liking for musky florals. 💕 The last time I asked someone, a lady in Asda, what they were wearing, it was SJP Lovely.

I should have been wearing Mugler Womanity today, International Women’s Day, but forgot and put on YSL Manifesto instead.

For those of you with colds and flu and viruses, I recommend a hot whisky toddy. It probably won’t get rid of the germs, but it will make you feel better and Vitamin C from the lemon is always good. 😊

Lotsofpots · 08/03/2019 21:14

Urgh my 2017 was the year of endless illness and it sucked. Lots of drugs and hot honey and lemon. And then - and I truly hate myself for saying this - a homeopath friend gave me some stuff and it completely cleared it up, so clearly I also enjoy the placebo effect too.

Today I wore sexiest scent again. I'm turning into chevvy. I'll be having a timeless moment before I know it, won't I?!

Calmasasleepycat · 08/03/2019 21:15

Cross-posted with Count’s hot toddy!

67chevvyimpala · 08/03/2019 21:45

calm you know me...I'm a bugger for the musk! 😂

I've got Avon tomorrow on the way actually! (Avon do 4 in that range...today, tomorrow, always and another I cant remember the name of!)

My sister wears SJP lovely and it smells great on her. Not so much on me.

lots dooooo iiitttttt! Its £5! Powdery ambery goodness ❤

Au Coeur du desert is so beautiful. The first time I smelt it (thanks to blah) I actually felt quite tearful! ☺

teta · 08/03/2019 21:51

‘I sometimes add in a berocca’ 🤣
Love it!
I’m all for hot toddies and drugs ......and lots of wine myself.

teta · 08/03/2019 21:59

In perfume news I tried the new l occitane fragrance Herbae. It’s categorised on Fragantics as a green floral whereas to me it’s more of a fruity floral. It seems to be a bit of a throwback to the past, but is beautifully packaged and appealing to the blackberry lovers.

Morning.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 09/03/2019 10:06

My box arrived yesterday. Trying Angela Flanders' Taffeta this morning. It started off pleasantly reminiscent of 24 Faubourg, but has gone a bit soapy now.

Calmasasleepycat · 09/03/2019 10:29

Very excited - took delivery this morning of a dinky little tin of Andy Tauer samples, complete with smelling notes and a couple of extra sample cards. Oh, and a little silk gift-wrapping Tauer ribbon. ❤️ I am now in Gardenia Sotto La Luna. Heady gardenia/jasmine with a gourmand undertone. It’s like smelling scented full-flowering bushes at night-time, planted in rich compost.
