Here we go again, and as always say what you like about the clothes but keep it civil re the wearers of said clothes!

Princess Alexandra was definitely at Westminster Abbey today, looking very well and immaculate as always. Lovely rich colour blue velvet.

N0tfinished · 31/01/2019 19:54

We should crowdfund Kate a new kickass tiara. What would the Mumsnet Tiara look like?

Loved that rewear article. I love her tailored coats that she wears with a leather belt.

LoversLane · 31/01/2019 20:18

Today I met the builders who carried out the refurb works in apartment 1a. We were interviewing them for a job where I work. They were very discrete and wouldn’t divulge any juicy goss when questioned about past projects! Grin

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 20:32

You think they'd at least tell you who'd provided the best tea and biscuits.

LoversLane · 31/01/2019 20:34

I wanted details of walk in wardrobes, dressing rooms etc but not willing to share. Just talked about electrical wiring! They also worked in Windsor Castle private apts. I’m guessing that Duchy originals are the biscuit of choice.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/01/2019 20:36

They’re probably doing Frogmore as we speak.

itswinetime · 31/01/2019 20:46

Some more Kate engagements next week

On the 5th she is doing 2 school visits to find out about mental health support as part of children's mental health week. Probably a coat dress or day dress event??

The 10th is the afore mentioned BAFTAS definitely a gown event

Then on the 13th is attending the 100 women in finances gala dinner so that's another gown occasion I'm guessing?

If we are right in thinking she will stick to rewears I'm hoping for these. All though as I have said something new would be a treat.

I liked that printed black gown (Erdem) but it needed to be hoiked up a few inches. And the white Mourey is one of my favourite Kate gowns, though I preferred it with silver sandals.

Thanks for the heads up on BAFTA. That flies under the radar somewhat here in the US, so I have set a reminder to watch it on BBC America.

itswinetime · 31/01/2019 21:01

Yes it was better when worn with the prada sandals

No idea if Kate and Meghan are the same shoe size but Meghan has some shoes that I would be asking to borrow if I were Kate.

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 21:03

she looks fab in that prada sandal photo!

Chewbecca · 31/01/2019 21:05

Often read this thread (thank you!) but never previously posted. Have to post now to point out that DoC’s silver sandals are Jimmy Choo ‘Vamp’, not Prada. I have them too! My one and only pair of designer shoes.

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 21:07

Well I love the Jimmy Choos! Grin Such a different shoe choice for her. Are they in any way comfy?

itswinetime · 31/01/2019 21:10

Chewbecca 😳 oops my bad teach me to believe the description on Pinterest

Chewbecca · 31/01/2019 21:10

Yes, as v high heels go, they are very comfortable. I got them for my 40th & we went to the stores, I tried loads on & these were good. The platform helps.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 31/01/2019 21:15

I actually really like Meghan's hair today. And her whole outfit, the pleat dress combined with the plain coat looked interesting (in a good way Grin). I like the layered look.

Would LOVE Kate to wear the white dress to the BAFTAs. Such a sexy dress without being inappropriate.

MotherofPearl · 31/01/2019 21:49

Gosh Curly you are good at keeping us abreast of everything!

I agree with Elspeth on Meghan's look today. The shoes were not the right colour, and I thought the skirt looked too evening-ey. All a bit of an odd mixture really.

I really loved that black floral Erdem dress on Kate - it suits her shape perfectly - let's hope for a rewear soon! And Camilla's navy suit looked impeccable.

Paradyning · 31/01/2019 21:58

They're definitely JC shoes!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 31/01/2019 21:59

@motherofpear hth!

VanillaSugarr · 31/01/2019 22:01

Has anyone tried the “coat as cape” look on real life? I’d be afraid that a) people would laugh at me b) the coat would fall off into a puddle. It’s definitely a look for people who don’t have to move their arms.

Bloominglovely · 31/01/2019 22:07

Trinny Woodall wears her coat like this all the time coats even as she has more than one!-

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 22:11

I would never have recognised this as being Meghan! She's clearly had the mandatory Hollywood nose job but everything about her looks different. Maybe it's the flat stage makeup. But she definitely looks better these days that's for sure.

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 22:14

Vanilla I like the coat as a cape look (seen here on the non royal Mandy Moore) but I just know I'd end up retrieving my coat from a puddle several times a day.

I think this Jenny Packham is one of the few times Kate has done "sexy". She has great legs and should bring it out again!

Ooh I love that Jenny Packham, queen, it was such a luscious look for her. I too love the Jimmy Choo sandals - what a fabulous 40th present, Chewbacca.

What a flurry of events we're getting. I suppose with Meghan gearing towards mat leave this was to be expected, but has HM stepped back more than in previous years?
