twosoups1972 · 04/02/2019 18:16

*There ARE (grammar!)

twosoups1972 · 04/02/2019 18:16

[lol] laska you can't catch me, I'm standing strong!

Laska2Meryls · 04/02/2019 18:21

Soy I love the boots esp, the shoes are nice , but not me,
But my CC is v glad that Moshulu dont have those boots in black in my size.. Smile

dontcallmelen · 04/02/2019 18:21

Lol mine did the same, I did everything I possibly could to sabotage them, blasted things lasted forever.
Aww Laska you are not a giant, you have lovely long legs I’m the odd one.

dontcallmelen · 04/02/2019 18:29

Soups good to hear dd is eating/sleeping better, if it was me I would be inclined to just concentrate on the Btec & one Alevel, then see how she manages with those, then explore the options for further Alevels the good thing is dd is still so young & opportunities for further education is still fairly easy to access, hope the next couple of weeks goes well.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/02/2019 18:39

Bah to tiny feet...mine are a handsome size 42, which is often a NINE in British sizes. Apart from lovely Clarks where it is definitely an 8.
However, they are only 3.5 ins at their widest point.

FuzzyPuffling · 04/02/2019 18:40

laska "dainty" is not a word that has ever been applied to me. Shove up on the "not dainty" bench!

dontcallmelen · 04/02/2019 18:54

Mine are 2.5 which apparently no adult should have.

ilovecherries · 04/02/2019 18:59

My mum had three childcare obsessions. Green leafy veg (mainly cabbage and kale, long before kale became an aspirational veg, startrite shoes and covering up in the sun. Apart from these we were feral!

Which means I have a healthy gut, nice skin, and according to my podiatrist, feet like shes never seen on someone my age- along with a healthy disregard for authority!

My Mum obsessed about good fitting shoes, vegetables & making all my clothes rather than buying them, she was an extremely talented seamstress, unfortunately I was to stupid to realise at the time, I could weep now when I look back at photographs of my beautifully made dresses.
I think she left me with a lifelong obsession for pretty shoes.

GinandGingerBeer · 04/02/2019 20:00

Evening all Smile
@len I hope you're feeling better today Thanks
@soy, hope you're ok love Thanks
@laska love the trainers. They'll look great in the spring too.
@soups sounds like your dd is beginning to turn the corner which is just fantastic Smile you're right re not putting herself under too much pressure though, she has plenty of time, although it feels like the end of the world if people are completing their quals before you at that age, in the long run, it matters not a jot.

I need to find the tape measure and do my foot width, I'm intrigued! Grin

So! I've caved and have just ordered the boyfriend turn up jeans @ £18 I think someone else bought them and said they're ok and the turn up can be rolled down a bit?
And the Petra skirt also £18. Thought the skirt might work in the spring with a white T-shirt.

SoyYo · 04/02/2019 20:42

Just back from my Pilates advanced torture class...😅 I may go back to the intermediate (slacker) lot but I’m challenging myself atm which after my weekend is possibly not a good idea.
Thank You All again for your kind words.
@soups I’m glad DD has improved to the extent that she wants to return for 2 weeks before half term. Honestly a year out at their age makes no difference whatsoever and I think better if they wait till they’re at least 19 before University as so many youngsters are just too young to move away...

My feet are proper kippers. Standard E fitting in Clark’s. I also have flat feet and growing up I used to have specially made orthopaedic booties for school. Hated them with a passion but I guess that’s why now I’m not so bad and my feet don’t really hurt unless I walk or stand for a very long time...when I got to 11 I was finally allowed just to have orthopaedic insoles rather than the lace up booties and I was so chuffed to be able to wear normal loafers. Those booties were not that dissimilar from DM’s so now I think what a fuss I made but at the time I wanted to fit in with Mary Janes...
My grandma and mother were very elegant women and throughout my childhood and teens regular visits to the dressmakers/tailors was de rigeur. I remember many many happy hours going to choose fabrics: velvet to cotton, Broderie anglaise to taffeta, I would be allowed to choose from those huge Burda books at the dressmakers and all the trimmings too: buttons, ribbons, smock fronts or embroidery on my girly dresses.
That’s where I get my obsession with clothes from I’m sure...

@laska I’m size 5 and a good 2 inches shorter than you so you do have dainty feet!

Thank you for cheering me up and when I get my latest little sale haul from Hush I’ll tell you Wink

@Fuzzy how could you say no to those jeans and skirt at that price! 😬 hope they’re keepers

SoyYo · 04/02/2019 20:42

Sorry I meant @Gin for the jeans and skirt!

Talisin · 05/02/2019 08:30

Soo... new stuff up now. Rather taken with the side stripe Laurie dress and knit hoodie in spectra green so far. Will have a better look this evening on a bigger screen than my phone.

Ellapaella · 05/02/2019 09:25

The green Angela stripe jumper is nice - love that turquoise green colour.
Can't see the star shorts although the model is wearing them in a few shots. I bet they sell out straight away and then remain out of stock for the rest of summer - my prediction.

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 10:13

I like the space dye jumper, the Bo top, contrast stitch top & dress & the pink linen contrast tee it’s expensive though for a tshirt, multi fleck jumper & Beatrice jumper, star shorts & denim skirt none of which I can currently afford😢

ilovecherries · 05/02/2019 10:15

Do you think this looks as if the upper is separating from the trim, or is it just normal but noticeable because of the colour contrast?

I think it looks as though it’s separating cherries.

dontcallmelen · 05/02/2019 10:37

Ella John Lewis have the star shorts showing in stock.

justilou1 · 05/02/2019 11:14

@soy, Sorry you had a rough weekend. I hope your week has offered smoother sailing!
@whiskey, I’m sorry the badger didn’t make it, but glad she isn’t suffering anymore. You did a heroic thing, even if she will never understand. Human cruelty baffles and infuriates me so, so much!!!

justilou1 · 05/02/2019 11:26

I pressed post too soon! Whoops! @cherries, echinacea can cause bleeding, so should be discussed with doctors prior to surgery. (Some doctors will cancel, so give them a call and check that it’s okay.) - I share your mother’s obsession with green, leafies and sun dodging. I hope I get as lucky as you! (Kale was harder to come by here until it became trendy though.) I have been dealing with some complex health issues lately and starting full-time study and kid-wrangling. Wondering why everything happens at once - every time? The only things I have bought for myself lately are ugly nurse shoes for training. I will spare you the photos. However, I have invested heavily in getting my engagement ring re-designed, as it was falling off. I’ve been thinking about this for years anyway. Can’t wait to see the end result!

Laska2Meryls · 05/02/2019 11:33

Looks like some nice things but only had a quick gander on my phone at work .. Cherries I'll look at my Chester s when I get home to see if mine the same

ilovecherries · 05/02/2019 11:45

Yeah, I’m good with the echinacea for a couple more days before I need to stop it. My sniffle doesnt seem to have developed any thank goodness.
