Morning all

cherries fab outfit, you look great. Is that the Jada tunic?

I've been busy with dd, organising appointments and trying to keep her busy. She had her first driving lesson yesterday which actually went quite well! I now think it might possibly be thyroid related. Spent all day on the phone yesterday trying to find a private specialist who sees under 18s and explaining about dd's needle phobia. Found someone good who has availability on Monday, Bupa will cover it with a referral letter so all good. But saw GP today and he refused to write a referral letter, saying it's more likely to be her iron level rather than thyroid and she should have blood tests locally first Angry

GinandGingerBeer · 26/01/2019 09:38

Morning! Driving lessons should be a good confidence booster for her too @twosoups. I didn't start driving lessons until I was 38 as I couldn't for medical reasons up until being late 20's then felt too terrified to learn. The minute I finally plucked up courage to get behind the wheel, I loved it!

@Ellapaella pleased to hear your appointment went well.

@cherries I understand you're nervous but it sounds like the benefits are going to be plentiful. But yourself the most gorgeous bra you can find as a post surgery treat for after you've healed.

@laska do you have the burgundy leather ones already? I'm so of your eBay find. After the sample sale I bet loads of people just go along and buy bags fulls of stuff and e bay it. Boo
I'd love to go, I think it might cost too much to travel now though.

@SoyYo the 800 has been surprisingly easy so far, although I cocked up on a couple of days so probably more like 1000kcal. Started Monday @138lbs and this morning I was 134.8lbs. It's definitely given me the boost I needed to shift some lard Grin
I reordered the flowery version of the zebra skirt from JL (forgotten what it's called)as it went down to £25 and mine still has the tags on. I'd like a fine jumper to go with it in one of the colours like a burnt orange or even turquoise. Of course such a thing will prove impossible to find!

Sorry for not tagging another's to much to catch up on and too smaller brain Grin

Fuzzy hope you had a lovely birthday, belated 🥂🎂 from me.

FuzzyPuffling · 26/01/2019 12:12

Thank for the birthday wishes. I am even more that most hated of MN characters...both a MIL and (according to some) terribly old!

I care not...the gold sandals are arriving today!

wearenotacodfish · 26/01/2019 12:12

I've had a successful morning on eBay, I will soon be the owner of a pair of black and white old skool vans which cost me £28 and a hush cashmere jumper which was £14 I am hoping the condition is good but decided it was worth the gamble at that price.

Ellapaella · 26/01/2019 13:05

@wearenotacodfish sounds like you had some good bargains today.
I'm currently trying to sell some Ash Virgin High tips on eBay, to be honest I thought they'd be snapped up but I don't know if they will sell as not much interest.

Here is the Hush Pheobe jumper, I really like it. Much prefer to the MV cream one. Great jumper for £35. Am returning the two MV ones. Now just waiting for the Hush Ryder jumper which o will keep providing not too itchy.
Getting on alright with the DM's - right foot no bother at all, left heel is blistering a little bit have sorted that with a heel protector.

Ellapaella · 26/01/2019 13:09

Actually this was £55.. not sure why I thought it was £35??

neveradullmoment99 · 26/01/2019 13:32

Looks very nice @ella and better than the cream one from MV, I agree.

Ellapaella · 26/01/2019 13:36

Good old Hush. Mint Velvet knitwear has always been a bit tricky for me. Never hangs quite how I want it to.

KTD27 · 26/01/2019 15:58

So my purchases arrived and I was a bit disappointed.
I ordered the insect t but it’s considerably see through. Not for me! Also ordered the zebra lightning jumper which I loved but I thought it would be a bit lighter and in fact is a bit itchier and heavier than I wanted.
Boo!
Also the ultimate disappointment the other too I ordered they just didn’t send as they’d run out of stock! Not a great first order. But! I get to have another pick of things and I must say I LOVE your jumper ella - how relaxed is the fit?

Ellapaella · 26/01/2019 16:16

@KTD27 this is a small, I'm a size 10-12 (between the two) and it seems quite roomy but not too baggy. I'm really pleased with it actually, I've had disappointment in the past with Hush knitwear but this is good quality.

GinandGingerBeer · 26/01/2019 16:33

It looks lovely @Ellapaella
I was eyeing up the grey hidden star jumper in JL earlier. It's lovely and I am tempted. Think it's £35 down from £99.

Ellapaella · 26/01/2019 16:34

@GinandGingerBeer I think @neveradullmoment99 has that one, the 3D star jumper?

GinandGingerBeer · 26/01/2019 16:42

Yes, and in the blink of an eye while ahem checking stock, I'll be picking it up tomorrow Grin

GinandGingerBeer · 26/01/2019 16:45

I've ordered an M as I manage to shrink all my hush jumpers no matter how careful I am. Sad So I've gone for a roomier fit. I have £20 left on a gift card so thought it was worth a punt Smile

NotAnActualSheep · 26/01/2019 16:52

I'm glad your DD seems to be more willing to do stuff soups. But AngryHmm about the GP - especially when you want to move things on. Will the blood tests check for thyroid stuff too (TSH? Thyroxine?)? Though not too useful if you need a needle to take them in the first place, I suppose... Is her diet giving her enough iron, do you think? Also, the standard MN recommendation for extreme tiredness is checking vit d...though I'm sure you've looked into all this!

Gin- that is an amazing loss for a few days! Well done! Though it does sound hard core...though as long as you are managing it without wanting to eat All The Food by the end of the day, it definitely sounds effective. For burnt orange jumpers, have you tried me and em? (Sale only, unless you want to mortgage your children...)...I saw they had a fair amount of orange stuff last season... like this or this? (I bought the roll neck one in the pink version and it is really good either by itself, or under other stuff...it's wool, but almost a jersey weight and material, so warm, but not heavy or itchy).

fuzzy hope the sandals live up to expectations. They do look really nice!

Well done on eBay codfish! You and Laska are the queen of bargains! Hope they turn out OK for you.

That is a lovely jumper Ella. It's difficult to tell, as the MV ones looked good too, but you are the one wearing them, so if you prefer it and how it feels on, that is the most important thing! I love the detail on the sleeves. Also glad the DMs are more or less behaving...

ktd- what a shame! A few people have said that about the animal print jumpers I think (the leopard and zebra star ones, at least) - that they aren't as nice in the flesh as on screen, and are a bit itchy. I got the insect long sleeved tee, and it is a bit thin, but I've only worn it under stuff, so that doesn't really bother me. I do like the shape of their v neck tees. Bum about the missing top too. I had that issue - except that it was included on the packing note but not in the parcel! Took ages to persuade customer services that it wasn't magically going to appear in another parcel a few days later as "computer says it has been sent...". Did eventually get refunded, but it was a bit of a pain...

GinandGingerBeer · 26/01/2019 16:59

Thanks @Not the burnt orange roll neck looks perfect! Smile Unfortunately I'm skint now until I get paid on Thursday, got some stuff to send back to hush but that'll take bloody ages to get credited! I'll see if it's still in stock once I've been paid.

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2019 17:18

3 parcels have arrived .. DH has just asked me if i have a 'Shopping problem' .. I'm not sure if he is joking Hmm.....But i'm not opening them until tomorrow now - maybe after he has gone back for the week..

Ellapaella · 26/01/2019 17:24

Oh dear @Laska2Meryls....Confused DH hasn't passed a single comment on my multitude of packages this week.. I keep telling myself I deserve a few treats anyway at the moment.
On the plus side I've made £60 in eBay sales this week so that's the Pheobe jumper paid for. So if I like the Ryder I'll be keeping g both. The DM's were my Christmas present anyway so they don't count. Oh and the Levi's were a bargain too good to miss!

wearenotacodfish · 26/01/2019 17:30

@Laska2Meryls I'm currently telling him they are on back order from the sales. Other excuses I use are that they are for his birthday/Christmas this works especially well if the parcels are JL and I tell him I send back most of it. I'm also very interested in his work schedule so I know what days he's on site. Can you have stuff delivered to work?

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2019 17:31

Mine doesn't usually..... its all my own money as I have always worked and paid for all my own stufff and the bils for the house here and i have no debt at all ( we have paid a mortgage off here ) , but he is just about to leave work.. I think he is feeling unsure about money.. He has no pension , but owns a house outright just outside London in the town where he works which is going to be rented out , and has far more in the bank than ,me..

He is never mean and everything is shared so I think I am feeling a bit over sensitive though atm..Quite frankly a bit scared of him retiring ..( He is lovely actually and adores me I know, we never argue, but I have been used to living on my own (or partly with DS) during the week for the last 25 years!... its going to be weird !

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2019 17:33

he has no pension (although I do ) as he has worked for a one-man owner of a company for many years (although v well paid and with shares ,its been good for us financially even though he had had to work away all this time )

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2019 17:48

Btw I'm ok all is fine it was just a small comment he made.. .... there's no drama going on here .....I may be just feeling guilty anyway about the amount I have ordered this week!! ,

Anyway ill probably not be back until tomorrow now anyway, dinner is cooking Monkfish wrapped n prosciutto (Dh made) and ratatouille (I made) ..and I have a Wine

Ella yes you do deserve it ! (and I'm quite excited about my parcels !!)

dontcallmelen · 26/01/2019 18:23

Ella lovely jumper very pretty.
Laska crikey that’s going to be a huge adjustment for you both, exciting & scary in equal measure & I suppose finding a whole new way of living together, my Dh is carrying on for another couple of years I think, thankfully he loves his job but partly he though he would never say it, due to my unplanned retirement messed us up a bit financially.
KTD shame about your haul.
I went out for the first time today, in over a week thankfully feeling much more human poped into Tesco’s, they had a nice cosy long grey cardigan for 18.00 if anyone looking for a good cheap throw on, I didn’t buy it though😇 but did crack & buy dgd a pretty knitted cardi with furry lining.

Laska2Meryls · 26/01/2019 18:41

I think I am going to build a chalet/shed in the garden..For me!..

He wasn't too sure about the Alfords earlier.. but i am def keeping.. they look great with the burgundy leather leggings i think ..

Dinner is not quite ready,...but I am starving ) was 'half-fasting' today (even though have some wine now) .I did have an egg and some h/m kefir earlier.. But, but, needs must ... leather leggings and all that .....Wink however its the weekend, and im not doing without my wine
