Yup. The stress on my neck and upper back is awful. I only ever take my bra off to shower, last thing off, first thing on. Sleep in a heavy duty sports bra. My shoulders have half inch deep grooves in them. Its actually much more uncomfortable since I lost weight. I was 40K at my heaviest, now a 32K/L. When I had a big belly, there was somewhere for them to rest, but now that's gone (and proportionally they are the same size), they rely completely on my bra.

..it will be such a relief for you ..you know we will be with you in spirit when op it happens .. xx

ilovecherries · 25/01/2019 15:08

The surgeon pointed out that the women in my family live till their 90s usually, then die quite quickly. If I'm lucky enough for that to be my story as well, then I have 30+ years to live with this. And these will be years when I will probably lose height, and will possibly have reduction in fine motor movements, so the boobs will be proportionally bigger as time goes on, my cervical spine will become more vulnerable, and dealing with the scaffolding and stiffness of the bras I require will become harder. Oddly, I felt a lot better after he pointed all that out!

He said that while he does obviously do BR for purely cosmetic reasons, that was not my situation - which I guess is why I got NHS approval. Though I am actually going private, as I want it over with. Plus I want this particular anaesthetist, who isn't in my funding area.

Haven't caught up fully as at work but cherries try holding the phone pointing down slightly (see my pics) - it has an elongating effect. You look lovely in today's outfit btw ❤️

Ellapaella · 25/01/2019 15:24

So see how I'm holding my phone in the pictures you will see what I mean. My mirror tilts slightly towards me as well which helps I think. I always look very slim in my photos on here and I'm not convinced I'm that slim in real life.

ilovecherries · 25/01/2019 15:39

Will try that, ella, thanks. Do you mean the top of the mirror should tilt towards you (as opposed to the bottom?).

Just stalking this thread. Where are those lovely burgundy and charcoal jumpers from laska, are they hush? Which style are they? Just what I'm looking for..

Laska2Meryls · 25/01/2019 16:30

Hi midlife they are from Celt and Co

Its this one in the Charcoal

Unfortunately the burgundy looks sold out , as was in their sale but its It was this one though

However I did get one quite similar ( but much lighter weight) from Joules a few months ago , might be worth looking

Ellapaella · 25/01/2019 16:51

Cherries the bottom of mirror is closer to me than the top if that makes sense.

NotAnActualSheep · 25/01/2019 17:23

Goodness cherries- I'm not surprised that you are nervous, but you are carrying an extra half stone on your chest!!! No wonder it is knackering on your back.. that's like a baby weight. You will surely feel totally liberated afterwards (and it will make your exercise/ buns of steel mission so much easier!)

I think I must be something of an anomaly...I never seem to gain/ lose weight under-bust...I've always been 29/30inches, even when really podgy! (If only the rest of me was so petite...). And, to be honest, I hardly gain weight on the boobs themselves, even when pregnant, though I do seem to have gone up a couple of cup sizes post DS. Bizarrely, they seem a different shape though, rather than bigger as such. I always see myself as quite small up top, even though I'm a F/G cup! I blame years of M and S telling me I was a 34A...

FuzzyPuffling · 25/01/2019 18:36

ella DH and I are mad keen on bodyboarding...lying down surfing!

Off to read the whole thread. I've been out today for my birthday and had a lovely day!

FuzzyPuffling · 25/01/2019 18:50

Thank you! x

NotAnActualSheep · 25/01/2019 19:35

Happy Birthday fuzzy! Hope you've had a great day. CakeWineGin

I was more taken by the model than the surf robe I think! Can imagine him in a 1980s C&A catalogue, pointing into the distance with a faraway look in his eye... saying, "who's stolen my clothes?"

wearenotacodfish · 25/01/2019 19:37

Happy birthday @FuzzyPuffling

midlifecrisis2018 · 25/01/2019 19:38

FuzzyPuffling · 25/01/2019 19:49

FuzzyPuffling · 25/01/2019 19:51

Well done laska Cheers!

justilou1 · 25/01/2019 21:38

Hi @Cherries, my cousin had BR done last yr. She is tiny - about 4ft 10 and (our sizing system is different) a KK cup. She had been putting if off for years because she wanted to be and then fear, but now back pain, etc got too much. She was 45 and wonders what took her so long. Her recovery was pretty good. (Minor skin infection - hard to avoid during summer here) She looks and feels great, and feels years younger! She would recommend it without question if your life is being affected like this!!!

justilou1 · 25/01/2019 21:39

*she wanted to BF

justilou1 · 25/01/2019 21:40

Happy Bday @Fuzzy!!! I will celebrate by cleaning my house and 🥂 later!
