Hi there, Husheestas - I'm after some sizing advice if anyone can help me. I was the lucky recipient of a gift voucher for my birthday, and I've got my eye on either an Emanuelle dress or a Bloomsbury dress.

I'm usually a 14 on the high street, and from Hush I have a small Ivy that fits me just right. Any suggestions what size I should go for in either Emanuelle or Bloomsbury?

ilovecherries · 24/01/2019 12:40

quantum, Bloomsbury is seriously oversized. I tried it two sizes down, although it wasn’t the right length for me. Emmanuelle is more true to size. You might get away with a 12 but I would probably go for a 14. Or try both sizes to see.

Thank you so much Cherries

I will look when I get home.

Gym time now. Ugh... Angry my red face he he

SoyYo · 24/01/2019 13:22

@laska I love the Moshulu boots and I remember you had your eyes on them a few threads back so go for it and scratch that itch! You can always return if not right...

Loving the recipes too 👍last night I did a medley of onions/sliced new potatoes/sliced carrots drizzled with olive oil, chilli flakes, salt and a pinch of oregano. We had it with a quiche (bought so not at all virtuous) and DS with veggie burger.
Sometimes I use peppers or cauliflower/courgettes other root veg whatever is to hand really so I like the idea of cabbage steaks too 👍

@Fuzzy I love that poetry skirt, Hope your appointment goes well
@Ella same for you Flowers

@cherries your outfit today is great

@never if the red shoes fit you may be tempted to order too...let us know

@Gin I’m not sure I could manage 800 cals for so many days! And I’ve failed with all diets the only way I lose weight is the Slimming World diet because it’s not restrictive on carbs. If only I could ditch my beloved olive oil and glass of red I’m sure I’d be losing the weight fast again. As it is I’ve only lost a couple of pounds since New Year and I really need to shift 10lb by spring

I’m feeling super tired today and struggling with work...and I have a lot on! So I’ll try update you on my latest sale purchases when they arrive.

@melen I can’t stand milk or cream either and everyone thinks I’m weird. I think they’re yuk Wink

Have a good day everyone!

legolimb · 24/01/2019 15:12

I have placed my order.

Thanks for the code cherries - but I wasn't able to use it. I had predominantly sale items and it's only valid on full price items.

Hey ho. I guess it would have been too cheap with that as well.

I'm still excited to receive my order and try it all on.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/01/2019 16:16

@twosoups - you slice them. I cut a whole cabbage in half. Then put the flat surface on chopping board. Slice inch thick bits. If you google cabbage steaks you will see what i mean. There are loads of different recipes.

ilovecherries · 24/01/2019 16:49

I had ordered the ruched skirt with the crossover front. I order a ruched skirt or dress every sale time. Please remind me next time that I look awful in it. My bum is completely wrong for it.

Thanks for the flowers everyone - been for my appointment, got a few more tests and an MRI to have before I can have my op but hopefully will be all good to go in the next couple of months. Hope everyone else's appointments went smoothly today too x

My two Mint Velvet jumpers arrived - same style but I think the cream fits better. Not keeping both so can I have your thoughts on which you prefer? The cream is my current favourite, I have the Hush Phoebe stitch coming as well so will probably just choose one out of the 3.

Going to try cabbage steaks this weekend 😋

Glad it went well (ish) Ella and here's to a smooth progression of appointments.

Mine was odd...apparently clinic had been cancelled but no one had told the Dr or me (or one or two other people) so apart from no nurses (so no obs done - good, I hate being weighed) there was no queuing! Apparently I am some sort of medical anomaly so just on monitoring at the moment to avoid invasive tests.

lego you do know you have to show us when your stuff arrives, don't you?

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/01/2019 17:17

Hi all, I'm a long-time lurker here but does anyone know when and where this year's sample sale is?

legolimb · 24/01/2019 17:24

Ella I like the cream best. Which is your favourite ?

Sorry to hear of all the medical appointments for those on this thread. Hope all goes well.

Yes, I will Fuzzy. :)

I was also busy on Esprit's site earlier. I wanted a bikini for May, and they have quite a good sale on. So I ordered a couple plus jeans and other stuff.

twosoups1972 · 24/01/2019 17:33

@ella glad the appointment went well.

The cream jumper is lovely!

Ellapaella · 24/01/2019 17:37

@legolimb the cream is my favourite too. Seems to hang slightly better than the green.
I am a big fan of Espirit - I buy a lot from there and it's excellent quality.

Thanks @twosoups1972 - yes cream is my preferred choice too. Will have to compare with the Phoebe when it arrives.

Ellapaella · 24/01/2019 17:37

@FuzzyPuffling that was a bit strange.. did the doctor turn up though?

FuzzyPuffling · 24/01/2019 17:48

Yes the Dr was there...bemused and note-less but there all the same. It's an outreach clinic so some way from the home comforts of the big hospital. He said normally the Dr cancels and not the patients!

This thread is making me want new clothes! Can't afford it. ;)

neveradullmoment99 · 24/01/2019 17:53

So glad your appointment went well. Loving the dm's. The cream one is the best. I totally agree. Its lovely on you :)
Remember to put foil in the beginning of the cabbage steaks so they cook and remove when you turn over and then if cooked then pop the parmesan on the top and wait until chewy crispy and bubbling.

neveradullmoment99 · 24/01/2019 17:57

@Soyo. Red shoes are absolutely lovely. They are true to size. Slightly neat on my flippers but if I were to size up they would be too big. Im sticking with the 6's. Will post a piccy when I get a chance. They are totally worth £60. They look really expensive. They are a beautiful shade of red. They have a retro heel which I love. Feedback on the stripey jumper. Its gorgeous. Slightly itchy but nothing a long sleeved tee cant sort out. Again, a bargain and shaped exactly like the bf jumper that's cashmere. It would have been stunning in cashmere. Lovely colours. Match the shoes. Also bought the denim bailey jeans [ sized up because of my mum tum] and they look great.

Ellapaella · 24/01/2019 18:11

@neveradullmoment99 which stripey jumper is it?

Laska2Meryls · 24/01/2019 18:19

Those red shoes are lovely never and a good price but I cannot think where I would wear them..I am reconsidering the Ryder jumper now.. what size did you get ? the faded scatter star T came (yesterday) and went straight back , but is £5 cheaper now)

Ella They are both nice but i love the cream best ( and the DMs)
Am tat glad both yours and fuzzy's appointment went ok. Twosoups I hope your DD is feeling a bit better

Soy Yes re the Moshulu boots , but I have been so bad (again)!! today ordering stuff things.. have re-bought the lovely JL ochre chunky cashmere jumper that I sent back a few months ago as it is now in the sale. Itwas lovely but at the time , I thought too expensive

Also ordered a charcoal slouchy jumper from Celt and Co .. (which I asked for Christmas but DH got me the jumper dress by mistake - which is also lovely and i have kept ).

Laska2Meryls · 24/01/2019 18:21

I think Never has this one Ella.. I did try it before, it was a bit itchy.. Its a v good price now,

Laska2Meryls · 24/01/2019 18:27

Oh, actually I didn't try the Ryder jumper .. it was the striped BF jumper from A/W17 (just checked my - extensive- order history!)

FuzzyPuffling · 24/01/2019 18:31

I have ordered myself something...wait for it.... Grin
(not the bloke). In my defence it is for getting out of my wetsuit, so maybe a bit specialist.

SoyYo · 24/01/2019 18:52

@never I’m so tempted to order both jumper and shoes to try now (I have been eyeing for a while...) what size is a 5 in Hush shoes? Is it a 38? I’ll probably end up returning due to wide feet but I do love the look and guess it’s worth a try...should I size down to S on the Ryder or stick with my usual M? Questions questions...Confused

Queen hello we’ve heard from @ella the sample sale is supposed to take place 1 and 2 Feb in London but no location as yet...

@ella I looked at your pics before I even read your question and immediately thought “the white jumper looks great”! So another vote from me. Glad your appointment went well today.
@Fuzzy sorry to hear yours wasn’t quite so good...

@Laska you and me both being bad! Yes I remember how much you loved the JL ochre jumper...would be rude not to if it’s a fab reduction Wink

SoyYo · 24/01/2019 18:55

@Fuzzy GrinGrinGrin
I’ve just seen your new purchase pic modelled beautifully by that bloke
🤣🤣🤣

wearenotacodfish · 24/01/2019 18:55

@FuzzyPuffling can you order them for me.

Lots of positive vibes to those having health issues.

I am so ready for the spring clothes and light evenings now. I went to wear sandals.
