Are cabbage steaks cut into wedges and roasted? I often do cauliflower steaks -or more often florets- roasted wit holive oil, lemon and cumin.. They are super yum.. DH (keen meat eater) loves them .

My Alfords have not yet been worn out only got them yesterday , and are bit stiff around the top of the ankles but I am hoping they will relax

Laska2Meryls · 23/01/2019 21:35

'holive' oil, reminds me a bit of something that Parker would say 'Mi'lady' Grin

twosoups1972 · 23/01/2019 22:24

Hello all, I've been too busy to catch up properly.

@ella so sorry to hear your news, what a horrible shock for you. Life is sometimes a bit shit, we don't know what's round the next corner. I hope the treatment all goes to plan Flowers

And on a lighter note, I love those Levis on you.

Love hearing about all the veggie/vegan cooking. We all eat meat but I'm trying to increase our veg consumption as much as possible. I always feel guilty reading about good eating habits because I've gone severely wrong with all my dc, they are all bloody fussy to varying degrees. I can't get much veg into them for love nor money. I beat myself up wondering if I gave them enough variety as babies. But as dh points out to me, both he and I were terrible eaters as children and now we eat everything.

GinandGingerBeer · 23/01/2019 22:28

Evening all, just having a catch up and posting to wish @Ellapaella all the best for your appointment tomorrow. Hope you get a clear plan of next steps so you can feel a bit more settled Thanks what a huge shock for you! Sounds like you're in very good hands Smile
On the weight loss theme, I'm embarking on the fast 800 which is a bit like 5;2 but starting off with a fortnight of eating 800 kcal a day every day, then relaxing it a bit.
5:2 has worked really well for me in the past, lost 3 stone on it, but I just can't face it and I've worked out doing it this way gives me a bigger calorie deficit over the two weeks. 800 kcal is quite easy to do really when you've been used to 500!.
Glad you're keeping the leather trousers @cherries Smile you look fab-u-lous in them you really do.
@laska, I don't know where you're hiding that extra stone, you look so slim and your legs look a fantastic shape in your leather trousers with the ivy dress. It made me try and hunt one down but couldn't find one. Never mind, next season may have an offering. Can't afford the leathers unfortunately.

Have they confirmed the date of the sample sale? It's leaving it a bit late, I'd love to go but it's going to be too ££ to travel this close to the date Sad

twosoups1972 · 23/01/2019 22:33

cherries that's good news about your eye test. Although I can't think about eye tests without thinking about the Two Ronnies sketch:

'Is it an I?'
'No, that's a hat stand' Grin

Ellapaella · 23/01/2019 22:48

@GinandGingerBeer it's definitely the 1st and 2nd feb - will try and find out venue

neveradullmoment99 · 23/01/2019 23:49

@laska - yes the cabbage steaks are sliced white cabbage roasted with olive oil, balsamic glaze and parmesan😋😋😋

wearenotacodfish · 24/01/2019 07:48

I'm having outfit issues this morning not sure if it's the weather or if I'm generally uninspired. What is everyone's go to work outfit?

justilou1 · 24/01/2019 08:02

@Soy - I love it too, but these days it’s mostly a threat to get my 12y/o DT’s & 14y/o DD to get school work done. (They know I will meet them in costume or practicing in the car if they misbehave. Ultimate threat!)
@Ella - your DM’s are Fab! I love them!!! I love that they’re vegan, too! I had some Cherry Red ones back in my student days that were stolen at a party. I was heartbroken. I probably wore them with Levi’s, too - but never had long legs like yours. (Have always resembled a gnome.)

Just stuck my first oestrogen patch on my bum to help prevent bone loss (runs in my family) so hoping I’m going to bliss out instead of sitting here in Mc Donald’s (end of school holiday’s treat) with my kids, who have been very patiently sitting and reading while I sorted out tangled up enrolment details at university this afternoon. I’m fantasizing about creative ways to murder the woman behind me who is humming loudly into her frozen coke and slurping it.

ilovecherries · 24/01/2019 08:19

codfish, I’m going out to meet a client soon. I’m wearing wideleg navy trousers (hush Winona), a pink cashmere crew neck from M&S, a short Chanel-lookalike jacket from Zara in navy boucle, navy trainers and my Seasalt Janelle coat over the top.

@Ellapaella hope the appointment goes well😘

dontcallmelen · 24/01/2019 10:22

Just trying to catch up, keep the recipes coming I don’t eat much meat & would be quite happy with a plant based diet, but Dh hates vegetables & sea food so it makes it really difficult, I’m also quite fussy as I don’t eat curry or anything with cream/milk we make a right pair.

FuzzyPuffling · 24/01/2019 10:26

laska I love the boots. I have some Moshulu boots and they are so comfortable I bought a second pair exactly the same for when they wear out. Constant wear and 5 years later, I am still on Pair 1.

The Poetry skirt is getting another outing today - I have an appointment with the consultant to see if they are any nearer finding out about my auto immune condition. Fingers crossed, it's been 10 months of tests and drugs and no answers.

legolimb · 24/01/2019 10:44

Hi

May I crash?

Just looking on the hush sale...

How do the trousers size? I have chosen the Samantha trousers in a size 12. I generally wear a 12-14 on the bottom - but usually wear tight jeans, not trouser trousers Grin . I do a lot of exercise so have quite muscular legs - will they skim or cling?

They look like a nice option for the remainder of winter and into spring so am tempted.

ilovecherries · 24/01/2019 10:47

Sending you lots of good thoughts today, ella

ilovecherries · 24/01/2019 10:52

lego, I would think the 12 would be right. I go between a 10 and a 12 in Hush, depending on style, and on the high street I vary between 12 and 14.

Fuzzy good luck with the appointment, my dd has an autoimmune illness among other stuff & it took a long time for the diagnosis lots of tests & bouncing between different specialists, hope you get some answers.

legolimb · 24/01/2019 11:07

Thank you ilovecherries

I will give them a whirl.

I need to get out of wearing just skinny jeans every day.

Also have put a couple of long sleeved tshirts in my basket - I think a Medium will be okay there. Am a bit slimmer up top but my shoulders and arms are also increasing due to all the heavy lifting.. yikes.

Will report back once I have them.

legolimb · 24/01/2019 11:08

Oh - there is a box that asks if I have been referred by a friend?

Does anyone have a discount code ?

FuzzyPuffling · 24/01/2019 11:11

Cheers melen. It's certainly a long job!

My gold sandals have been despatched. Excited! (You lot had better be right..."Gold sandals" is a euphemism for a particular sort of woman...not me!)

FuzzyPuffling · 24/01/2019 11:11

Sorry lego I don't , but I feel sure someone did.

legolimb · 24/01/2019 11:17

Ah - I'll hang on a while and see if anyone comes up with one.

I am not supposed to be spending money right now- house renovations take precedence- but I do look a scruff!

twosoups1972 · 24/01/2019 11:22

ilovecherries · 24/01/2019 12:16
