Do you think these shoes are horrendous?

I don't know what it is about me but I can't wear heels. Despite being in my late 40s, somehow I look like a kid wearing her mum's shoes. Flats don't look good on me because I am only 5.1". I am a size 10, probably a little podgy now after the excesses of the last few weeks, and I just look silly in delicate shoes. I pretty much wear boots all the time but I like wearing ankle trousers, and boots don't look good with those. I am therefore looking for a shoe that gives me height, but without looking like I'm wearing high heels. Would welcome opinions on these: www.amazon.co.uk/Fly-London-Yaz-Mousse-Womens/dp/B00J9C1Y6Y/ref=sr_1_3?psc=1&keywords=fly%2Blondon%2Byaz&th=1&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1547567642&sr=8-3

Not a fan here either.

Crimebustersofthesea · 15/01/2019 16:56

Thanks 1hello2hello I've just ordered those Kurt geiger boots in wine. I really need to avoid s&b for the sake of my credit card bill!

CottonSock · 15/01/2019 16:58

I had flu boots and almost broke my ankle on a regular basis. May be just be. I doubt id.buy those op

BadMoodBoard · 15/01/2019 17:00

They're lovely those boots crime although if I like them it might mean they're ugly... Hmm

OP posts:
Truckingonandon · 15/01/2019 17:18

Truly hideous op. What WERE you thinking?????

PicassoWouldBeProud · 15/01/2019 17:18

They're appalling OP.

GeorgeTheHippo · 15/01/2019 17:19

You are funny OP

How about loafers or brogues with cropped trousers. You can get an inch or so of heel. M&S have some nice cheap ones, dark red patent loafers and gun metal brogues last time I looked.

SuperstarDJ · 15/01/2019 17:20

I’m not a wedge lover at all but what about this style? Suede/suedette might be less in your face than the ones you’ve linked to.

I also saw some loafers last year with a really thick sole. Kind of platform loafers, they were nice.

GeorgeTheHippo · 15/01/2019 17:22

Personally I hate wedges. But those new look ones aren't too bad.

HerLadySheep · 15/01/2019 17:27

Hideous!! They look like they've been prescribed as an orthopaedic aid!Confused

BadMoodBoard · 15/01/2019 17:34

@Truckingonandon, what do you mean WERE? So far S&B Mumsnetters have not saved me from myself...

OP posts:
mejon · 15/01/2019 20:26

I quite like your original ones OP - but they're far too high for me so could never wear them and I'm not sure they go with ankle length trousers. Absolutely dumbfounded by the suggestion to look at Clarks or even Hotter for more 'stylish' options though Grin.

flintfoxy · 15/01/2019 20:44

Jesus Christ OP no

katekat383 · 15/01/2019 21:17

Oh no. Truly ugly. Sorry

TokyoSushi · 15/01/2019 21:23

OP, love, no

Mayhemmumma · 15/01/2019 21:24

WTBE · 15/01/2019 21:56

My granny had the first ones Blush

She had hideous style.

BadMoodBoard · 15/01/2019 22:37

FamilyOfAliens · 15/01/2019 22:41

I just don’t get Fly London shoes.

They look like they’re trying not to be orthopaedic shoes and failing miserably.

Didsomeonesaybunny · 15/01/2019 22:54

Sorry OP both are horrendous

BackforGood · 15/01/2019 22:55

Glad we've convinced you.
I@'m generally an 'each to their own' kind of person, but they really are grim.

The last ones you have linked to ar a million times better.

Bloomini · 15/01/2019 23:17

You're having a giraffe. Gotta be.
