Previous thread.

Usual rules - say what you like about the clothes, keep it civil re the wearers.

I like the black/navy/olive colour palette!

At least she's not dressed in primary coloured coat dresses, and dresses for her age. Think her style is more accessible and easy to emulate (which is guess is the exact opposite to what Kate wants from her wardrobe).

CourageCalls · 11/01/2019 21:20

I like that the two duchesses have very different distinct styles. They are not models who the clothes are wearing they are women wearing the clothes they like/think they should wear.

It's nice to have two different approaches as they are very different people. Can't stand this comparison all the time (not from any particular poster I mean in general in the press)

IdaBWells · 11/01/2019 21:38

Agree CourageCalls.

VamillaSugar · 11/01/2019 21:44

Prince Charles and Camilla today are rocking a more accessible winter look Kilt Heaven

VamillaSugar · 11/01/2019 21:45

I like Camilla’s boots.

SenecaFalls · 11/01/2019 22:22

I've not seen any nastiness and I don't feel like there's any kind of group mentality either. But I'm sorry that one or two posters feel they need some time away and hope they come back soon.

Perhaps nastiness is too strong a word for it, but there has definitely been some negativity directed toward some members of the Royal Family, and most of it has been directed toward Meghan. And there was one personal barb directed at me on an earlier thread, which did surprise me a bit because I do try to remain civil on MN. I do back off occasionally from the discussions myself, waiting until they get back to the clothes.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/01/2019 22:29

Well this is interesting. Apparently Charlotte Casiraghi has NOT split from her fiancé and they're suing the tabloids who said they did!

That is interesting Queen

It’s good to see Camilla up & about & fingers crossed fully recovered.

Word about Kate - I worked for the family business & non family business. I worked far harder for the family one as I had to prove to the other employees I was there by virtue of being good at my job rather than because I was family. If that makes sense.

Quantumblue · 11/01/2019 23:16

Inspired by this thread I bought a citrine necklace and matching earrings from Heavenly Necklaces which arrived today. They are really nice, but would want to be for the price.

NorthernLurker · 12/01/2019 00:06

The authors of both From Berkshire to Buckingham and the Royal Order of Sartorial Splendour blog have hung up their blogging hats recently. Hopefully for the ROSS it is just a temporary thing. It's a shame though, I need more royal blog recommendations!

Gotstuckwiththisname · 12/01/2019 00:23

Loving Camilla's kilt. I kind of want one, but DH laughed at me saying I was like an old granny. Maybe I am, haha.

IdaBWells · 12/01/2019 00:56

Traditional clothes are fun and everyone knows what to wear so it's easy!

user1457017537 · 12/01/2019 04:26

Well the thread is titled “Royal Style and Gossip” so isn’t exclusively fashion

MakeItAmazing · 12/01/2019 06:34

Royals holding hands.

MakeItAmazing · 12/01/2019 06:40

James Middleton has announced he had depression. I hope it's a positive response.

Rhubarbisevil · 12/01/2019 07:32

had? When?

To be fair, he has two highly successful sisters whilst he dropped out of uni and his parentally funded business ventures failed. He can’t escape the public scrutiny, comparison and criticism.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 07:39

The Middletons were thrust into the limelight & they didn’t ask for it. Must have been very difficult. I don’t remember this amount of scrutiny for Sophie’s family. The Spencers & Fergusons were in Royal circles already & it was a different time.

ElspethFlashman · 12/01/2019 07:44

Noooo! Not Sartorial Splendour, I love that place! Sad

That kilt Charles is wearing is an unusual plaid. I wonder what it is?

LoversLane · 12/01/2019 07:49

@northernmurker I saw that too. I really enjoy ROSS, hopefully it’s not forever. Have you tried mynewroyals?

ElspethFlashman · 12/01/2019 07:53

Yeah I have some sympathy for JMidd also. I'm not entirely surprised.

He seems like he's in a pretty good place at the moment thankfully.

VamillaSugar · 12/01/2019 07:57

James Middleton talking to the DM. Bless him. It’s a very good article and he hasn’t been paid for it.

JM on depression

He has expensive boots. I like his urban country look. There’s an expression called Rurbanite which describes someone who lives in a rural location but a is city girl/boy at heart.

Paradyning · 12/01/2019 08:00

I think there is something nefarious about that article. I think it smacks of the Daily Mail about to do a nasty piece on it then he had no choice but to come out himself and say something. It wouldn't surprise me. They are evil.

Paradyning · 12/01/2019 08:05

NOooooo about ROSS. They have been my guilty pleasure for about 7 years now!

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 12/01/2019 08:10

Could be right Para almost like he’s been forced into it.

BaronessBlonde · 12/01/2019 08:11

Agree Paradyning.
The man is entitled to privacy WRT his personal medical details.

I wish him well. It is not easy dealing with ADD and mental ill health; even worse in the semi-public eye.
