Previous thread.

Usual rules - say what you like about the clothes, keep it civil re the wearers.

Kate looks stunning in that photo the Gallery have released.

Tinkhasflown · 10/01/2019 08:05

Whilst Eugenies evening wedding dress is nice I do think it makes her boobs look odd!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 10/01/2019 08:13

That NPG photo is insanely beautiful!

I'm a big Kate fan but I actually think photos of her can often look fairly ordinary - she's a beautiful woman but I do also think a lot of her beauty comes from being so incredibly polished. I think it's part of her appeal too, honestly - she does sometimes look like someone (very attractive) that might walk among us.

Meghan imo is spectacularly beautiful whichever way you cut it.

IdaBWells · 10/01/2019 08:18

That is a very beautiful photo, however I just love how often she looks like she is really enjoying herself and so my favourite pictures of her are when she is really genuinely beaming and loving life.

I love to see women having a great time - maybe because in so much traditional fashion photography women look gorgeous - and inexpressive and miserable.

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 10/01/2019 08:38

Beautiful photo of Kate there.

Spudlet · 10/01/2019 08:48

Ida Yes, she has a great, genuine-looking smile.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/01/2019 08:53

I actually think Kate looks like Diana, but the different hairstyles hide that!

Today I am wearing Meghan green!

I have this dress in black and deep red as well and they're so comfy and warm with opaques and boots.

Gotstuckwiththisname · 10/01/2019 09:19

I hope Kate had a lovely birthday, whatever she did. Although if you're reading this Kate - LTB - butter chicken?? Really???? Grin although I am married to the curry king of the East Midlands

Meghan green looking good ladies!

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/01/2019 09:26

I'm wearing Meghan green and, on reflection, that mirror needs a clean!

See, Queen I don't see any similarity between Diana and Kate at all and I generally find that sort of comment really irritating (sorry, I know this thread is our happy place Smile). It speaks to the undying obsession with Diana that some parts of the media still hold on to, and it's just such an unnecessary comparison.

Kate wears red dress - much like Diana did back in 1985.
Kate wears a tiara, just like Diana did in blah blah.

She's been dead for such a long time, could we not just let the current royals be themselves instead?

certainlymerry · 10/01/2019 09:44

I tend not to pay too much attention to the foreign Royals generally, but having looked at the links above, they are SO much more stylish than our own RF. Such beautiful outfits, and so poised!!

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/01/2019 09:46

I certainly don't have an undying obsession with Diana, and I think the comparisons between wardrobes are ridiculous but I do think there's a facial resemblance from some angles. That's all I was saying, doesn't mean I think William sought out someone who looks like his mum or anything like that! I think Meghan resembles Julia Roberts sometimes but it's just a resemblance, nothing more!!

There was a photo of Kate in the National Express I think yesterday in which she has her head thrown back, laughing. She just looks amazing.

Bloominglovely · 10/01/2019 09:51

KP have announced Meghan’s patronages -
The National theatre
The association of Commonwealth Universities
Smartworks
Mayhew

I wonder how they decide? Obv theatre is as expected but what if they don’t have any interest whatsoever in some they are given? I guess though we all do parts of jobs we aren’t interested in doing.

Bloominglovely · 10/01/2019 09:54

The green is lovely Queen, you have an enviable figure!

BlingLoving · 10/01/2019 09:55

On that list, number 10 Mathilde, Number 6 Mary are just fantastic. Agree with pp that Eugenie's evening wedding dress did something odd to her breasts.

BlingLoving · 10/01/2019 10:02

www.royal.uk/duchess-sussex-announces-patronages

I think they've been careful to select patronages with which Meghan will have an affinity. And actually, I think that's largely true for all patronages - there's not much point being the patron if you're not going to be willing to attend events or take part. And I'm always hearing stories about some royals being heavily involved behind the scenes in a lot of ways from facilitating introductions to really hands on stuff. Anne has a particular reputation for this but I have heard similar things about Harry and William.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/01/2019 10:19

All those patronages make sense. The National obviously, and the ACU given H&M's roles as Commonwealth ambassadors. And the other two charities reflect Meghan's interests in women's empowerment and animal rights.

Thanks @Bloominglovely, I've been feeling a bit blah lately so that's nice to hear!

I think the Express read this thread, lots of you say how happy Kate looks these days.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/01/2019 10:23

What are Kate's patronages apart from Heads Together? The NPG, Wimbledon, Art Place and maybe the V&A? Given she's sporty and she has a degree in art history that makes perfect sense too!

Kate is herself; any semblance to the late Princess Diana is fanciful.
