Well I had on black leggings from next from a few years ago, Hush ivy dress and my Daniel nibble ankle boots, black cashmere cardigan in case I was cold at work.

Somanyquestions2 · 08/01/2019 21:42

I have both of the black leather leggings. I got the ones which are now full price when they were 20% off and then ordered the sale ones because they looked the same but were cheaper. The sale ones look as if they are last year's - think it's last year's model wearing them? They feel as if they are made with a slightly thicker leather which looks a bit less matt and the waistband is much bulkier and sits lower. Both mine are size 12 and the sale ones seem slightly bigger. They both wrinkle on me so I probably need a 10 but anyway I need to return one or both before the cc bill.

GinandGingerBeer · 08/01/2019 22:01

The Oslo fits fine @laska, when I got it out of the bag I thought there’d be a mistake as it looks so small but it’s very stretchy thankfully! (Needs to be)
I’ve come to bed early to stop me from eating 🤐😂

twosoups1972 · 08/01/2019 22:34

We watched Manhunt too @ellapaella Dh spotted Dave coaches from Gavin and Stacey Smile

dontcallmelen · 08/01/2019 22:45

It took me until the second episode, to figure out it was Dave Coaches was driving me mad, as I knew the voice.

twosoups1972 · 08/01/2019 22:56

There was also someone else on there who I recognised but can't think where from, maybe a comedy programme? Fair-haired, sort of balding....?

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2019 08:43

Shipped the wardrobe today green Ivy long green chunky monsoon cardiac and black green snakey scarf which I have had ages ( from TKMaxx) . Strangely now I see the Florence skirt the scarf is a
.very similar in pattern even down to the glitter bit s).Also wearing myfab Celt and co boots.

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2019 08:45

Monsoon cardiac???!!!! 😂 Don't want one of those !! Cardigan!!!. Predictive text fail..

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2019 08:51

Hmm looking like my leggings havent made it over the water yet Sad..

Ellapaella · 09/01/2019 09:06

Today for me is burgundy joules oversized cowl neck jumper (quite Meryl like) which is 3 years old and TopShop Joni jeans in a washed grey that are well over a year old. I'll be donning my wellies for a dog walk. Not very glamorous for me today.

I'm waiting for return from Mango from well over a week ago.. did someone else say they were still waiting for Mango returns?

ilovecherries · 09/01/2019 09:13

Yes, it was me, Ella. I returned on 22nd, and they received on 24th according to tracking. I’ve had no replies to emails. Their FAQs say 3-12 working days after receipt which even allowing for Xmas and NY is nearly up. If I don’t get it back by this weekend, I’m just going to raise a PayPal dispute.

ilovecherries · 09/01/2019 09:14

I’m on running clothes at the moment, but as I plan on a day of housework, I may not get more glamorous than that!

Been enjoying catching up with everyone's news and purchases on the thread. Some great outfits. Have been quiet on here as DS got a stomach bug from his first day at nursery which DP now has. I'm desperately hoping I don't catch it myself.

@ilovecherries I love the size 10 leather trousers on you, they really do look great.
@dontcallmelen also loving those Clark's boots! Very tempted. Not fugly at all.
@SoyYo great buys! The check trousers look fabulous with those shoes. Perfect for your Paris trip. Hope it is going well.
@Laska2Meryls so glad you got the Toast jumper that Never also has, it looks wonderful and I love the rara skirt and burgundy tee. Is that the Oslo skirt? Really shows off your fab legs. And the Celtic &co boots are AMAZING!
@NotAnActualSheep love the Toast fairisle jumper. Did you keep it? Yes to Soyyo on the Toast skirt, well spotted, it's the one I ordered. And having followed the link that Not posted I realised it was now £15 cheaper 😡 so I've sent it back and am waiting for my replacement at the more bargainous price of £55. While I was there I ordered the navy tweed coat, just to see...

dontcallmelen · 09/01/2019 09:45

Huff aww hope Ds & Dh feel much better soon, love the tweed coat tis very stylish.
Laska that monsoon cardiac sounds a bit dangerous 😂
@SoyYo hope all is well & Paris trip not to arduous.
Wearing jeans & another newish navy boden jumper.

twosoups1972 · 09/01/2019 11:08

I happened to see this Meryl-like jumper in Whistles the other day if anyone is interested:

twosoups1972 · 09/01/2019 11:09

huff hope your ds and dh get well soon and hope you don't get it.

Today I am wearing Gap straight leg jeans with turquoise Heidi Boden jumper. And trainers. Although I might have to change into skinnies to tuck into Uggs, it's so cold today!

NotAnActualSheep · 09/01/2019 11:47

Goodness - you have all been chatty! I'm loving all the photos and links.

I know things have moved on now, but cherries - yy to everyone who said you look amazing in the leather leggings! Definitely styled as you would, I think they are timeless and ageless - and you do need to show off your fantastic legs!! But Envy at all of you needing to size down to 10s....only in my dreams would I ever be a 10 again... Did you keep your pink JL coat? I think that would go really nicely.

But Angry about the ripped ones (and also the mis-sized dress). That is really poor. I have to say, hush are always very good when I phone them up (never tried emailing) - though there is sometimes some buck-passing (I ordered a few things a while ago and one item wasn't in the package though was on the packing note - fair enough, mistakes get made - but it took 3 calls to CS to get them to believe it hadn't been sent separately and wouldn't magically turn up a few days later). Boden is amazing, though yy. I had ordered some things in the pre-christmas sale, for them to be reduced further the following day. I was all prepared to send them back and re-order - but checked first, and they just credited my account with the difference (OK - not an actual refund, but given I was about to place another order, it actually didn't matter to me that much).

I'm v impressed with you and your return receipt photos!...How do people keep a track of these things (what has been returned/ refunded etc)? I've just had them in my head til now, and haven't had anything go missing as far as i'm aware - but i probably do need to get a bit more organised. I'm so organised at these things well, more or less for work, but so scatty with my home life!

I also love the leather skirt never (though I think that has gone back now?? Sad) - and the pointy boots. Though if they are uncomfy, I would say you need to think v hard about keeping them. They will probably mould to your foot with wear..but obviously, some boots never seem to IME. Also len's fuzzy boots - they look soooo warm and cozy.

And yy to fuzzycustard Poetry obsession! I got their summer brochure through the other day, and I honestly would wear pretty much all of it!! I know in reality there is so much linen and me and my iron are not best of friends, so I would look a crumpled mess immediately. But it is sooo cool looking and wafty. Liking the look of their linen jeans, especially.

huff - I'm definitely keeping the toast jumper but I'm waiting for the one i reordered cheaper to come through - along with "your" skirt! (also ordered at the cheaper price!). Ordered it with some horrifically expensive green cord trousers to get free postage. But the trousers aren't staying... Unfortunately - I popped into JL yesterday to get something for DS, and have discovered they now have a toast concession... so i may have come out with this lovely stripey top which bizarrely still seems to be £40 on the toast website and some gorgeous thick "proper" denim "mom"-my jeans for £37 (which I can't see on the website). I really wish i hadn't noticed this new addition... And your tweed coat looks gorgeous too...

Hope your leggings are a success laska (soon to be renamed laska3burgundyleatherleggings?) Grin And i hope your Paris trip isn't as painful as you were fearing soy!

NotAnActualSheep · 09/01/2019 11:49

Oh - and hope you are feeling better gin - and huff's DH and DS. Brew

Swimminguphill · 09/01/2019 12:11

Hi everyone, sorry to but in, but has anyone got any idea if they've announced the sample sale dates yet? FWIW I got leather leggings for £100 in the sale last year and am really chuffed with them although does anyone else find them sometimes a bit... squeaky?

dontcallmelen · 09/01/2019 12:28

Hi Swimming definitely not butting in, I think was a bit of a discussion about the pop up a few pages back, sure someone will be along who has an idea when it is.
Not you have grabbed a few good bargains, in my head the chap from big brother diary room is on a loop, saying day nine of Lens no spend

Huffthepuff · 09/01/2019 12:37

Thanks Two, Len and Not for your good wishes. Not the best start to my return to work but it can't be helped.

@NotAnActualSheep hmm thanks for posting those jeans, I'm now coveting them and obsessively reading the reviews. Did you get them cheaper than £85 in John Lewis?
I really like that top too but it's sold out online.

wearenotacodfish · 09/01/2019 12:48

I hate it when shops take a age to return things.

Today I'm wearing my burgundy Tara dress and leopard skirt boots. I used my air wrap for the first time last night too so I am feeling all put together today and there were compliments from the ladies on reception which is always the sign of a good outfit.

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2019 13:30

Has anyone heard of Oushka bags? I found a really nice one in TKMaxx . It's plain black hobo style ( according to their website it's the Peyton) looks good quality but I have never heard of them . Bought but may not keep.

NotAnActualSheep · 09/01/2019 13:31

lol len - I can picture it now!

Sorry about that huff - yes, they were less than half that in JL (£37.50 actually) - so they may not have been exactly the same (seemed to be called Ashley - not Ash - but they didn't have the same front pocket stitching as the current ashley ones on the toast website - and were 99% cotton and not 98%. Possibly last season/ year?). They were marked down from £125 though. Our JL only had a couple of size 10 and a couple of size 14. The 14 is actually rather big for me on the waist, but fine elsewhere - and that is a problem for me generally - so i would say they are probably TTS, verging on the generous side. If you are interested, I could see if they still have them and send them onto you (presumably you could return them to any JL with a receipt?)- but I'm afraid I won't be able to go there again til at least tomorrow (not sure how quickly these things will sell)? They had a few of the tops too (I nabbed an M and didn't look at the other sizes). They had a few things not on the JL website too - full price at least (the dress in the gorgeous geometric print that laska (?) linked to). I must confess - I thought Toast had done another round of reductions and was Angry but it just seems to be JL.

I'll just finish lunch - and then go and take a couple of photos. Hang on...

codfish that sounds like a great outfit! yy to having style "arbiters" in every office. I had a coat that someone in the office would always say was lovely. I wore it loads, so it was hardly novelty value.. and it was a couple of years old when she started - but without fail, she would always comment on it (others did too - but only her every time)! I got a bit self-conscious after a while...
