Had no idea about dianas eating disorder (am early 30s) but it seems it was well known at the time. Cant find any before and after pictures, was the press still somewhat reluctant in the 80s shamless slope in 90s She was so beautiful and indeed buxom.

Diana lost weight really fast, so that was actually one of the few dresses of her with a bosom.
She went from a teenager with the remnants of puppy fat to new mum to bulimic princess in the space of a couple of years.
It was this picture in the early 80s which sparked the anorexia rumours. ( it was after William was born)

Charlotte looks to be keeping the car amused in that pic curly she seems to have a similar smile to The Queen it lights up her face from what we have seen So far anyway

I was amazed at a pic of HMQ a couple of pages back. I think when she has just got off the train and is not smiling, she looks so like Charlotte! Same expression.

Because the Queen smiles so rarely - in public - her smile is all the more radiant because of its rarity. It is a great smile.

I think this sums it up really. To my eye she doesn’t look curvy more like a (very slightly) chubby kid! I’m sure the stress of everything contributed to her weight loss as well. Her arms look very thin in the picture above. But let’s face it, the DoC and DoS are only marginally bigger than that now.

That and the photo after their engagement was announced where the photographers made her stand so that the sun would shine through her skirt and show her legs.... So naive

Those photos are why when older Diana always has a clutch aren't they? So the photographers couldn't get and shots like that. Unfortunately Diana learnt things the hard way I'm not sure if that was poor support or just a change in the way the media dealt with the royal family. It's a really sad thing to look back on either way be it lack of support or the press exploiting a young lady.

Makes me sad looking at those early photos of Diana. She really was a lamb to the slaughter for the media.

Yes Ida, I watched that too ever Diana. There is no evidence at all she had an eating disorder before she was engaged. She liked to eat! It was only later she developed bulimia .

Apparently Catherine had lots of support and help with just this kind of issue, practice and advice about getting in and out of vehicles and other moments when it would be easy to reveal too much. I’m sure lots of advice about outfits, she usually is dressed very modestly with very little skin ever showing below the collarbone and I imagine this is why. I’m sure it’s hard enough to relax when you’re the constant center of attention anyway without worrying that some pap is looking for an compromising shot.

I’m sure Meg has had the same advice. She definitely is much more covered up then she ever used to be as an actress. I’m amazed at how well she has coped and really not put a foot wrong when she was thrown in without the long lead up that Catherine had.

I bet Diana was mortified when she saw the papers the next morning! Well at least she looked fab
