Link to previous thread.

And once again, let's keep this good-spirited. Spiteful comments are about as welcome as Fergie at Prince Philip's birthday party!

I wonder if the size and shape of the bump indicate the sex? I say girl,
As someone said, to me the bump holding shows a lack of understanding the event is not about her. She still thinks she’s an actress.

Gingerivy · 11/12/2018 09:05

Delurking. I wonder if it's more of a combination of nerves and a protective gesture. She's really been gone after in the press lately, and she may feel nervous and needing to protect a pregnancy that is increasingly feeling more public and less private.

I think it's ridiculous how she is jumped all over no matter what she does.

UrsulaPandress · 11/12/2018 09:05

At least you've got something to criticise her for Hmm

whatswithtodaytoday · 11/12/2018 09:10

She looked lovely. I'm at a similar stage of pregnancy, same age as well, and I touch my bump a lot. It's because it's damn uncomfortable a lot of the time (thanks SPD), I find being kicked very weird, and I still don't quite believe it's real.

To me it looks like she's supporting her bump which is aching underneath while she's standing in heels, and being kicked up near her ribs or rubbing an over-stretched stomach for comfort.

Moononthehill28 · 11/12/2018 09:12

But she did it constantly in Australia too!

FlyMayBaubles · 11/12/2018 09:15

Re the bump-cradling - so what?! I was so happy to be pregnant, I wanted to cradle my bump 24/7. Poor MM - I'm sure some folk would criticise her for merely breathing. Sheesh!

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 09:19

I’ve just remembered what that outfit/hair remind me of. Remember Diana at some awards do in NY post-divorce, sitting next to Kissinger? Slicked back hair and slinky midnight blue dress. All the press then was about how unroyal the look was. Maybe Meghan is thinking of the same and very consciously trying to break the mould from the start?

Paradyning · 11/12/2018 09:20

I don't see any bullying. I see generally supportive posts.

She did do it in Oz and NZ. The video of them at the arts reception in NZ is very affected.

Anyhow. I see the rest of MN has joined our fluffy thread.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 09:22

This dress @ViragoKnows?

And in the gif she is actually posing Hollywood style cradling bump.
I am as pg as here +- a month or two depending on her dates.
In my professional environment I do not double bump hold!!!

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 09:24

If she hadn't been cradling her bump then people would've found something else to find fault with - perhaps her dark manicure as it's not royal enough? Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 09:25

Anyway, another opportunity to royal watch is happening today - William and Kate are visiting a children's hospital in London. Then I think that's it for royal engagements until the new year, although we're bound to see Sandringham shits over Christmas.

Paradyning · 11/12/2018 09:25

I love her dark manicure. I think she looks incredible!

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 09:26

Oh FFS, shots!

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 09:26

Yes thats the one Queen. I’m convinced Meghan is familiar with Diana’s back cataloguez

(I think Kissinger was some other NYC, post-divorce occasion, having googled.)

LittleLlamaontheduskyroad · 11/12/2018 09:26

To me she looks like she's so over the moon at finding happiness, being pregnant etc that she almost can't believe her luck. Cradling the bump because she feels so lucky and happy. I don't really mind it.

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 09:26

Catalogue.

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 09:28

There's also Diana's one-shoulder ensemble @ViragoKnows, which was probably my all-time favourite dress on her.

OP posts:
ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 09:30

Oh yes, that's SO Diana.

Meghan was wearing a Diana greatest hits combo Smile

Paradyning · 11/12/2018 09:32

You know this one shouldered dress comparison will be in the DM later today don't you!

QueenOfTheAndals · 11/12/2018 09:39

I think both duchesses emulate Diana a bit - I don't know whether it's conscious or subconscious. Kate's dresses when she left the hospital with George and Louis were similar to what Diana wore after she had William and Harry.

owlshooting · 11/12/2018 09:44

I love that photo of Diana, she really came into her own in the last few years. Stopped dressing like someone far older and started to look really healthy, happy and sexy.

ViragoKnows · 11/12/2018 09:46

Yes, it’s like Diana had two sides to her and now, posthumously, she has a DIL corresponding to each separate side.

Minimammoth · 11/12/2018 09:50

Looking at some of the pics in DM, I bet the bump pic lasted seconds.
She looks great. Now let’s leave her to her pregnancy.

HairyToity · 11/12/2018 10:06

Meghan looks fab. I initially was put off by the 45k engagement dress. However now she has all these horrid comments thrown at her, from both her family and courtiers (over such silly things like diffusers, tiaras and 5am emails), she's grown on me. I like how she just rides above it all.

I think she's great.
