Link to previous thread.

And once again, let's keep this good-spirited. Spiteful comments are about as welcome as Fergie at Prince Philip's birthday party!

I think MM’s weight used yo fluctuate from tiny to quite curvy depending on her health.

SenecaFalls · 07/12/2018 22:54

Marilyn curtseyed, too.

queenofarles · 07/12/2018 22:56

Sophia Lauren ,talked about that famous picture of hers staring at Jane's chest, she couldn't not look at them! "They were about to come onto my plate , they were everywhere" Grin,

It is so funny hearing them chitchatting then they all fall silent when the Queen arrives. (Worth watching just for Hugh Jackman)
whitershadeofpale · 07/12/2018 22:58

The thread’s moved on a bit but I thought of you all when I saw this.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/12/2018 23:01

@queenofarles
Yes here’s an article about it and the famous picture

SenecaFalls · 07/12/2018 23:01

Sizing was different in the 1950s and 60s. Today Marilyn Monroe would probably be a US 6. According to women's sizing in the US when she was alive, she would have been a US 12.

PawneeParksDept · 07/12/2018 23:02

The Daily Mail loves to bash Beatrice

It's what makes me warmer towards her than most

They started pretty much as soon as she turned 18 too

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 07/12/2018 23:10
The makeup artist has caked on the foundation. Not a great look.

I shouldn't really be surprised, but how lovely to see Maxima's girls becoming just as stylish as mum

Interesting, too, to see the court circular linked above. I thought autumn/winter was supposed to be a busy period and most of them are doing hardly anything Hmm

seneca last year I went to the Dior exhibition and I couldn't believe how tiny the 40s and 50s designs were compared to the more contemporary ones from 80-2010s.
The new look bar jacket was minuscule, and from the inside it was padded.
people were so much smaller back then. in size and height.

Some of those Queen meeting Hollywood need a caption competition!

AhoyDelBoy · 07/12/2018 23:48

Something I noticed about the Queen was how in her younger days she always looked older Than her true age. seeing pictures form the 50s , 60s and early 70s I couldn't tell if she was in her 30s or 40s or early 50s , the only telltale were the style of clothes,

I thought this too. Maybe this is why PC has always had an older look about him.

There was a thread awhile ago where the OP had dressmaking patterns from the 70s IIRC. She said the size 16 would be equivalent to today’s 10 Shock

AhoyDelBoy · 07/12/2018 23:54

I was it 8 🤔

I imagine the make up looks fine in the published pictures of Meghan - the front cover at the end of the video seems to indicate this.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 08/12/2018 01:32

Regarding HMQ looking old before her time (and she did) her make up looks awful - white and very powdery - and her eyebrows were screaming out fir some tweezers.

Of course if I were " in charge" of half the world, I too might look somewhat jaded!

mathanxiety · 08/12/2018 02:54

Wahey! I know that conservatory where the photo shoot took place!!

AhoyDelBoy · 08/12/2018 03:12

Yes, what was with the white powdery makeup?

mathanxiety · 08/12/2018 03:27

...you put your weight on your left foot and draw a circle with your right big toe starting at 12 o'clock. Draw your right ankle behind your left ankle and bend the knee to the point where your knee doesn't extend over your ankle

…then you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about. O! Hokey pokey, pokey...

AhoyDelBoy · 08/12/2018 04:40
