Max’s eldest daughter, CP Catharine Amalia has turned 15.

Lovely picture - that purply blue is a great colour. It suits Meghan, but looks good on blonde Catharine.

I'm not keen on Mary's blue stilettos matching her coat.
The coat is a lovely colour though.

I met someone who was at school with her. She said she was nice but looked very different in those days.

I have lived in Spain for nearly 20 years. It's a very traditional "posh" style. And the dressing them the same is v Spanish too.

Amalia is all Oranje but Alexia is very like Maxima.

@Quantumblue There are lots of old Mary hate blogs (sound familiar?) out there which make a big deal about how different she looked once she became royal, but I think it's just better grooming and a designer wardrobe.

Yes am very familiar with one antiMary site! Agree that she is an example of normal prettiness given access to the best resources to become v groomed and stylish.

And unfortunately for the ‘but Marilyn Monroe was a size 16’ camp a size 16 was obviously very different back then!

AhoyDelBoy yes, that exact subject (MM size) has been discussed at length often on S&B by posters who are pretty well clued up on clothes size compared to then and now, here and in the US and IIRC they worked out she was probably never much bigger than a 'todays' high st size 8.

In the photos of the Queen meeting Marilyn, she is wearing the Grand Duchess Vladimir tiara and (our old friend) the Delhi Durbar parure.

Something I noticed about the Queen was how in her younger days she always looked older Than her true age. seeing pictures form the 50s , 60s and early 70s I couldn't tell if she was in her 30s or 40s or early 50s , the only telltale were the style of clothes,

MM was never a size 16, the dress she wore to sing for JFK on his BD, was tiny, also I remember reading that in the Coroner report it said that she was 117 pounds about 53 kg , and her height was 5'5' . I'm 5'5 and I weight 59kg and I wear a size 8-10, I think would've been large by 60s standards.
