Anyone else got this & want to discuss?

Love the Nars lipglide, wore it last night and got a few compliments!

I stayed out and just got back - unsure which day as there is no 2 but two 22s? Grin

I work there and it's reduced as if last night .

UpToonGirl · 02/12/2018 17:22

I'll be up for a discussion on this one... Mine isn't going to arrive until Tuesday tho!

This year I'm going to try and open it day by day instead of opening it all the second it arrives. Really looking forward to it, not had a JL calendar before.

YellowLily · 02/12/2018 17:30

It was brilliant last year Grin so really looking forward to what’s in this year’s. I got mine reduced for Black Friday anyway and it was £110 instead of £165 so was pretty pleased with that. Last year it sold out didn’t it?

AlexaShutUp · 02/12/2018 17:34

I have one of these, loved it last year.Grin

Found the lip glide a little bit too bright for my liking but looking forward to lots of other treats.

UpToonGirl · 02/12/2018 17:48

I feel like a lot of the calendars sold out quickly last year whereas this year they seemed to be available for longer. I do know whats in it as I had a good look at the contents when it was first released but I've forgotten most of it!

I'm hoping for a few hair products and a face mask, maybe a serum.

What are you all hoping for?

WindinTheWillowsLover · 02/12/2018 18:05

I'm hoping for a few hair products and a face mask, maybe a serum.

The contents are all visible online on their website.

There are lots of good products but they are tiny samples- from 5ml to 15mls mainly.

It's now £80 -ish but tbh I'd rather spend £80 on full size products that I want and know about.

UpToonGirl · 02/12/2018 18:23

WindinTheWillowsLover I know you can see the contents online as I said I did have a good look back in mid Nov when it was first released to make sure I would be happy with the contents. However a few weeks later and I can't really remember. I've been looking at the contents for most of them so they are all jumbled in my mind anyway!

I like the calendars, if you get a decent one you do tend to get fairly good sized samples which are good for testing new products - some of which I may never have tried if they hadn't been in the calendar but that I've liked and gone onto buy full sizes.

YellowLily · 02/12/2018 18:38

I’d like a face mask or two, maybe a nice cleanser and a couple more bits of makeup! I have a feeling there will be a few perfume samples too. (Also aware you can check the contents but would rather be surprised!)

Last year I was impressed by the sample sizes and didn’t think they were stingy. There was a clarins cleansing gel in last year’s and I think it was 30ml, same with the omorovicza cleansing foam.

Today was the laura mercier primer which was in last year’s as well - I went on to buy a full size I loved it that much. 15ml - full size is 30ml I think? So they are pretty good samples really.

It's being delivered today, half price was just too irresistible. Fingers crossed it is worth the expense!

JennyHolzersGhost · 03/12/2018 09:43

Following this thread as I’ve bought it in the sale and will be opening it in January to cheer me up Grin

YellowLily · 04/12/2018 07:39

Hope you both enjoy!

Tried the dermalogica pre- cleanse last night and my skin does feel soft and exfoliated this morning. Just opened number 4 and pretty pleased - also think it’s a pretty decent sample size. Has anyone tried any of this stuff before?

I’ve tried the primer before and love it Smile

UpToonGirl · 04/12/2018 13:04

It's here, practically snatched it out of the delivery guy's hands!

Happy with all four. Need to have a look at today's and figure out to fit it into my skin care as I already use glycolic.

MiaN · 04/12/2018 17:10

I got mine too! I love the box, I will re use it to store my minis. I did not need another advent but 50% off I could not resist!

lightningstrikes · 04/12/2018 19:26

Mine arrived today! I'm really pleased with it. The lip gloss is fab, though not my colour. I gave it to a friend and will purchase a different colour. I'm excited to try the toner, think it's perfect for the nights I don't put on an aha serum. I also bought the glam calendar from Selfridge's, but the John Lewis has been much better so far.

UpToonGirl · 05/12/2018 13:35

Today's was good, although I've had a few samples of this over the years. I got the Harpers beauty box last week which had the night cream to go with todays moisturiser so at least I can use them together.

mowglik · 05/12/2018 15:09

Checking in! I bought this half price last week and just received it yesterday. Happy with the products so far, like a pp I did have a look at the contents but have forgotten most of them.

I love today’s marine cream, I used to use it a lot but its so expensive to replace. Happy to have another tube to use.

I like the nars lip glide, it’s quite a bold colour! I guess it’s a good time of year to try out a brighter lip colour..

Looking forward to tomorrow’s Grin

Grace789 · 05/12/2018 17:41

I marine cream is lovely I hope I don't get too attached to it as I imagine it's quite pricey full size! Did everyone get the same colour lip glide on the 1st, I got 'burning love' and my friend got 'immoral' I thought they'd all be the same but obviously not!

MiaN · 05/12/2018 18:05

burning love for me too

AlexaShutUp · 05/12/2018 18:40

I got immoral. It's a bit bright for me, but a nice product.

MsNobody · 05/12/2018 18:46

I have burning love, I'm happy with it, already have a fuchsia lipstick from shiseido so I'm glad I didn't get immoral.

YellowLily · 06/12/2018 07:09

I got burning love too, in the lip glide. Perfect colour for this time of year Smile I’ve tried Marine Cream a couple of times over the years but when I was much younger so looking forward to giving it a go now my skin probably actually needs it!

Not tried this particular benefit mascara that came in today’s but have tried the rest of their mascaras and am not overly impressed so will see; I found They’re Real a little over hyped!

OP posts:
MsNobody · 06/12/2018 07:34

I've had that mascara sample from magazine and didn't like it so that one is definitely being passed on. TBH I've tried 2 or 3 different Benefit mascaras and didn't like any.

lightningstrikes · 06/12/2018 08:13

I had Burning Love, which wasn't good on me. Gifted it to a friend. I'm pleased with the mascara, I need one for nights out. For those who don't like it, why not? Wondering if I should cover with a tubing mascara to prevent flaking and smudging...

Grace789 · 06/12/2018 09:26

I think it might save the mascara for my next holiday as it's a good travel size, I remember having the normal bad gal though and it was pretty flakey after a couple of hours, I hope the formula has changed for this one!

UpToonGirl · 06/12/2018 12:14

I'm quite happy with this, used it this morning and its holding up ok - disclaimer I only ever use cheap mascara, currently using Primark £1 one.
