The houndstooth coat shopping trip was December 2015, the other one was more recent I think, will investigate.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 30/11/2018 02:30

After a thorough investigation I think the Tesco’s one was in Anglesey is older, there are a lot on line of her out and about, I like the fact she nips out to the shops! Here she is shopping on the Kings Road February 2016.

Waves to Curly. It’s a pity you didn’t spot Meghan while you were there! BettyBoo that photo you posted of Kate in the purple top pushing a trolley has been floating around for years. Maybe taken just after they were married? I like the one you last posted from 2016. She clearly has great taste in activewear with the Lululemon bag dangling off her arm.

FWIW (and no disrespect to the late Lady Di) I think her hair was awful Blush maybe it was just the style at the time though. I was born in 84 and my Mother had hair like that all through the 80s and 90s. I would literally cry if Kate cut her hair short like that Shock. I liked Diana’s hair in the slightly longer style posted earlier (think it was BettyBoos share).

Thank you Curly got the link to the dresses - perfect for early morning cheer up.

The links to ladies in waiting was very interesting. Also anyone else read that the knives were out for Kate in those articles- middle class, waitie Katie?

Paradyning · 30/11/2018 06:27

@Bloominglovely I completely agree re: Kate's half up/ down hair. It looks awful. Schoolgirlesque. Same with the recent bows.
I admire her Hairdressers's dexterity however.

AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 06:54

Kate with ‘The hair’ pre-engagement not so sure about the outfit here.

TipseyTorvey · 30/11/2018 06:56

It must be an odd job description being a lady in waiting. Yes you're kind of 'mates' but there's an immediate power imbalance in that ultimately the RF outrank you and you're really kind of a servant. Do they get a salary? I thought in the olden days they were gifted lands and houses etc rather than money but maybe that wouldn't work nowadays?

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2018 07:13

Not fan of a lot of Kate's pre-engagement outfits, too wannabe Sloane.

No lady in waiting is an unpaid job. It’s just there for the status.

Assistant private secretary is a PA job and is about £30k a year.
There is also Private Secretary which is a senior role. Kate’s PS has an MBA ans is a very qualified lady in her 50s Catherine Quinn

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 30/11/2018 07:21

Before Kate got married, she used to swap clothes with her mum. They still do it now; but I think Kate is usually the donor to Carole & Pippa.

AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 07:27

I think Pippa has some kind of household helper. I’ve seen her photographed with her a few times since she had Arthur, a nanny maybe? (Not RF I know, sorry). Sorry Pippa but out of the Middleton sisters I know whose hair I’d rather have.

Clionba · 30/11/2018 07:31

Thanks for your KP updates, CurlyWurlyTwirly!! Great stuff. I remember those clothes well.
That photo of Kate with the trolley is from Anglesey in 2011. Her hair is fantastic, and whatever has happened to it and however much it's cost, it's worth it!

AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 07:55

I agree Clionba!

AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 07:58

My favourite ‘Kate out shopping’ picture

Royal style & gossip: give us this day our daily tiara...
AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 07:59

I’m glad she’s upped her handbag game that’s for sure Smile

Bloominglovely · 30/11/2018 08:32

Is that photo of Kate under the W&K sign not a photoshop? Or a lookalike?

I think the lookalikes would be what I would find one of the strangest things (although there are many) about marrying into the RF. I’d be so offended and critical of people getting paid to look like me who I felt didn’t look like me at all. I’d probably really fixate in the more obvious differences eg if they had a bigger nose than I perceived my own to be etc.

Pupsiecola · 30/11/2018 08:46

What does happen when they go out shopping or for dinner or with the children? Do bodyguards just keep people away, or do people just not dare approach them?

I remember reading about a restaurant in London which the queen dined at frequently for years and years. I wonder if they closed it for her. But sitting in an empty pub or restaurant, there'd be a lack of atmosphere?

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 30/11/2018 08:51

I’ve often wondered about the dining out thing- what if you fancy popping out for a pizza or kebab? Grin

Paradyning · 30/11/2018 08:58

No it want photoshopped. That was take. A few days before their wedding on the King's road iirc.
I remember I thought how gaunt she looked.

Paradyning · 30/11/2018 08:59

*wasn't

ElspethFlashman · 30/11/2018 09:03

Oh I remember that really well! She was buying knickers or a bikini for the honeymoon or something and afterwards some employee in the shop blabbed that it was Calvin Klein, size whatever. I thought that was terrible. Online shopping for undies from then on!

Spudlet · 30/11/2018 09:04

I would imagine they tend to go the sort of places where mobbing a celeb would be v uncool. Didn't a poster on one of the previous threads say something to that effect about Sandringham - that all the locals are used to royalty bobbing about the place so leave them to their own devices?

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2018 09:05

what if you fancy popping out for a pizza or kebab

Deliveroo or Uber Eats I suppose!

I am struggling to put the words 'Kate' and 'kebab' into the same sentence, to be fair Grin
