If you’re willing to go through the faff of registering with the Telegraph you can read the article.

UrsulaPandress · 01/12/2018 09:51

Moving 25 miles away is hardly 'splitting' the brothers up as the Mail claims today. Mind you the article also claims that Harry had never heard of Frogmore Cottage.

Clionba · 01/12/2018 09:52

itswinetime- I agree, it has to be a senior royal. Ken Wharfe said that assistants and PR teams had to take the blame for royals mistakes, and the "men in grey" have been blamed for revelations that came back to individual members of the family.
Remember "the knives are out for Fergie"? That wasn't the courtiers.

QueenOfTheAndals · 01/12/2018 09:53

I saw Meghan's interview about her dress and she seems to have had very clear ideas about it and the veil from day 1, but I guess we'll never know which came first!

Re Carole I really like the dress she's wearing in her Telegraph pics. Wonder where it's from? Kate's resemblance to her mum is really apparent now that she's a bit older.

I too am surprised Carole Middleton has done an interview. I wonder why now?

IPromiseIWontBeNaughty · 01/12/2018 10:00

I thought the same bean

I doubt she’d say anything without clearing with W&K first though. It’s all odd.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/12/2018 10:00

Max in Buenos Aires.day 2 I hate to say this about our beloved Max, but do you think she could have had some subtle refreshment on her face? Otherwise she is looking very well.rested...

I was wondering whether the Carole Middleton Interview was some kind of distraction. It's so out of character.

Clionba · 01/12/2018 10:03

Oh, Max, no! The telltale signs are all there.
Stop now while you can!

LizzieSiddal · 01/12/2018 10:06

Meghan "I have an idea about maybe scenting the chapel; its something we sometimes do in the US"

Courtier "i'm sorry that won't be possible"

*Meghan "okay no worries, was just a thought"
*

regurgitated 6 months later on a slow news day and embellished to further discredit Meghan.

This is exactly what I thought on hearing this story. I feel so sorry for Meghan, someone has got it in for her.

I also remember when they were dating and Harry issued a “stop harassing my girlfriend” statement. I think the press are now getting their own back.

beanaseireann · 01/12/2018 10:08

Max looks amazing - but Max STOP NOW.
Don't do a Rania please.

Missyelliottsaysso · 01/12/2018 10:10

I’m just surprised the tabloids are happy to verbally attack a pregnant woman...surely that’s morally wrong.
As of today I will no longer having a sneaky look at the DM online...it’s just an awful awful paper.

Clionba · 01/12/2018 10:17

Unfortunately, Missy, it's not just them, it's everywhere.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/12/2018 10:17

I used to look at the DM.for the pictures, honestly ! However there are lots of blogs which are faster. I'm going to try & lay off it too.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 01/12/2018 10:23

Can you believe this Royal engagement; I think Meghan's 2nd; was only a year ago.
It should be the happiest year of her life and shes had so.much grief. I really hope she has learnt not to read the negative stories.

Mad About Meghan and HRH Duchess Kate are great for photos and Charlotte (not that one!) who runs them is super speedy in getting the latest photos up, especially considering she's US-based (I think).

None of us know what has gone on inside the Palace. It sounds like MM is a bright, intelligent woman with her own ideas and the old fashioned men in grey don’t like the threat of change. An earlier poster (apologies can’t remember who) made an excellent comment about the RF needing to move with the times and hopefully MM is the one to bring about the changes as she seems to have been very popular on her walkabouts.

I avoid newspapers who claim to know what has and hasn’t been said by members of the RF.

LizzieSiddal · 01/12/2018 10:25

I agree about attacking a pregnant women. The press are dispicable.

This whole thing is going to make William and Harry hate the press even more. They believe the press hounding their mother, led to her death, and now they’re doing it to their wives.

owlshooting · 01/12/2018 10:29

I suspect Meghan might be feeling very hemmed in, bored in fact. She probably looks around thinking 'what can I do, how can I make a role for myself?' and feels frustrated with the system. I suspect she's gone marching in, issuing orders and throwing her weight around from the off, and that has not gone down well. Her manner with staff is probably rather entitled, and that has pissed a lot of people off. Also, maybe she expects staff to work much harder and longer hours , not realising they aren't paid that well (I understand) and it's a matter of working with, not for. I may be completely wrong, but this is what i suspect. A lot of ruffled feathers, people feeling put out, and this has generated 'leaks'. I doubt very much it is other Royals, most probably staff or ex staff.

I wondered why CM is doing an interview. There must be a reason. Is she trying to balance Doria? Who knows? There seem to be a lot of PR machines at work in various ways.

Bloominglovely · 01/12/2018 10:35

Someone mentioned uptgtead that the press are keeping the big news for the holidays. Nonsense. In this era of twitter and social media where anybody can share information, if the Tess has a scoop, you can be certain they would publish it as soon as the had it to ensure they were the ones who put it out first.

The annoying thing about the MM Stories is that they aren’t stories at all. They are non stories - MM wanted an air freshener - that are making it to the papers!!!!!! It is ridiculous. The objective must be 1. Nine whstsoeve except the presstrying to sell papers. 2. Anti MM and with the underlying tension of Brexit anti immigrants and pro borders sentiment, they are playing on MM being an outsider. 3. They are trying to force MM and PH out of the limelight which can spectacularly backfire on the press but might be the MIG’s objective.

Clankboing · 01/12/2018 10:44

I think that the constant bad press makes the press look more ridiculous, not Meghan or any of the other royals. I never believe what they write anyway. Personally I think a nice smelling church sounds lovely ... often churches smell of incense. I hope that Meghan or Catherine read this thread!

PennyMordauntsLadyBrain · 01/12/2018 11:11

There are three stories on the DM homepage either slagging off MM or talking about the so-called feud between her and DoC.

It’ll be all change come the spring when she gives birth, but for now it looks like someone has really pissed off the press.

legolammb · 01/12/2018 11:12

I don't see any evidence to suggest Meghan has been 'throwing her weight around' or being entitled - the press seem to have had it in for her since day 1 - even before she had been making royal appearances, hence Prince Harry's statement to ask the press to back off with the criticism. I think there's a huge amount of (not so thinly veiled) racism involved in how Meghan is being perceived - setting her up against poor crying English rose Kate Hmm It's a trope as old as the hills.

I am also guilty of having a bit of a read of the DM for gossip in my lunch break but now I'll stick to reading the blogs I think - it's getting ridiculous. It must be very stressful and upsetting to have to read these stories - I hope it's not affecting her pregnancy too much.

Butterymuffin · 01/12/2018 11:18

Her manner with staff is probably rather entitled

As Hadley Freedman said, in the article linked on the last thread, who's more likely to have an entitled attitude to staff, the mixed race woman brought up by a single mum, or the people raised in unimaginable wealth with their every need attended to?
