FFS, the royal car. There may be a royal cat too, I wouldn't know!!

My own lingering bitterness about the 80s has to do with wedding dress shopping. I got married in the early 80s, not too long after after Diana and Charles. There was nothing to choose from that wasn't festooned with ruffles and all manner of pouf and random decoration. The veils were also hideous: mounds of tulle sticking out from the top of sequinned and bangled head pieces. I remember my mother talking about what the photos would seem like in future years, saying that the look was not going to age well. Happily, we had a family wedding dress from an earlier era that was re-fashioned at bit, so that I can still show my wedding pictures without having people laugh their heads off.

Fell ponies (as ridden by HM now) are lovely, comfortable rides ime. I used to ride at a trekking centre in the Lakes - they had a lady in her eighties who travelled for miles to get there and ride a particular fell pony Smile. She adored him.

halfwitpicker · 30/11/2018 12:48

Lady Pamela sounds a character

halfwitpicker · 30/11/2018 12:50

Kate is far more beautiful than Katie Holmes imo.

^^

Agreed.

BUT I think Kate would look even better with a bit of weight on - just 3/4 pounds would do it.

Spudlet · 30/11/2018 12:51

Lol, Queen. Any Royal Cat would need to be an absolute bruiser to survive all those dogs, it would be a terrifying beastie! I was reading a Wikipedia page about the royal dogs, and frankly it sounds like they've had some utter little soda over the years Grin Remember whenever Princess Anne got a fine for her bull terrier doing something dreadful (was it killing a goose or something?)

Blimey, there must have been some awkward family moments after some of those scraps Confused

Spudlet · 30/11/2018 12:56

Oh bloody hell, it was worse than I remembered. Her dog went for two children riding their bikes ConfusedShock

Prince Andrew wore full military uniform for the wedding of PW and Kate. He then wore a morning suit for the wedding of PH and Meghan.

He rewore the same suit for walking his/daughter down the isle.

Surely the wedding of your daughter should be a more important occasion to bring out the uniform? I am surprised by his choice of outfit for Eugenie and Jack's wedding.

Didn't he wear uniform as it was a state occasion. The others were 'private'

AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 13:09

The uniform would of looked nicer for Eugenie’s wedding but probably out of place 🤷🏼‍♀️

AhoyDelBoy · 30/11/2018 13:11

Night night from Australia (11:10pm) fellow royal watchers I look forward to my morning catch up with coffee Smile

OlennasWimple · 30/11/2018 13:19

Well done, Seneca's mum!

I've got quite a few friends who got married in the 80s - their photos are hilarious. It really was the decade that taste forgot Smile

ElspethFlashman · 30/11/2018 13:30

God Maxima is beyoooootful.

When Harry was briefly dating that Posh Dancer there were pics of them leaving some burger place.

I think they just use a lot of back entrances and stuff.

And allegedly there's a lot of use of white Transit vans, on the fairly valid theory that nobody looks twice at a white Transit van. I heard W+K used one in Anglesea to go out and about.

Paul Burrell used to have to smuggle Diana's lovers into KP under blankets in the boot, but it was as much to evade the nosy security on the gate than anyone.

I also heard that despite his caution, Princess Margaret always used to know when someone was leaving Diana's apartment in the middle of the night as she would hear the rattle of the horse grid as Burrells car drove over it.

SenecaFalls · 30/11/2018 13:38

Well done, Seneca's mum!

My mother started dressing like Jackie Kennedy in the early 1960s and kept that look her entire life. Smile

DontCallMeCharlotte · 30/11/2018 13:45

Facebook memories reminded me the other day that it's 6 years since I saw W&K outside kings cross station. I got annoyed as I needed to get home and they'd cordoned off the bus stop for the royal cat.

Funnily enough, I got held up trying to get to Kings Cross for a similar reason last year and I too was quite cross until I saw that it was Felipe and Leti!

I imagine I was pretty much the only person there who knew they were in town and recognised them!

YearOfYouRemember · 30/11/2018 13:46

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual - I have the Readly app and have looked thought the last two copies of Good Housekeeping magazine and couldn't find the article featuring Carole Middleton. Please could you tell me who is on the front cover and / or what page it is. Thank you very much.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2018 14:43

@DontCallMeCharlotte Felipe would stand out anyway, being literally head and shoulders above the crowds! He was very good-looking in his youth and even now is a bit of a silver fox.

Guys, the Letizia ASOS dress arrived and omg it is STUNNING. A peachy pink with proper shimmery embroidery. And such swooshiness!

Sadly it runs small, so you have to size up. So it's going back. I would keep it if it always true to size though.

It does mean there'll be quite a few returns and it really is worth checking out in the flesh if they start trickling back in. Just size up!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 30/11/2018 16:03

QueenOfTheAndals Very true re Felipe! But they were in a car (convoy). I was quite proud of myself for the spot to be honest Grin

Also I'm still smiling at the thought of a police cordon for a royal cat!

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2018 16:38

Well this is interesting

Warning: Sun link

Disfordarkchocolate · 30/11/2018 16:41

The Sun link is old news. He has some very dodgy pals does Andrew.

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2018 16:46

The article is from just yesterday though. Makes you wonder why it's suddenly news again...

QueenOfTheAndals · 30/11/2018 16:49

I'm getting into conspiracy theory territory here, but who was angry that his daughters wedding wasn't getting the coverage Harry's did? And who might've wanted to get back at him by discrediting his wife? Could this now be Harry's revenge?

Right that'll be me off to David Icke's forums now!!
